|Abstract:||This study aimed to understand the links between the interpretations of aspects related to home care service and social practices of the actors involved, through the following research problem: how to interpret the aspects related to home care service is articulated in the social practices of caregivers family and health care team? To this end, we sought theoretical topics such as symbolism, organizational culture, social construction of reality, power relations and health organizations. On the subject symbolism and its connections with the organizational culture were used theoretical contributions from authors such as Morgan, Frost and Pondy (1983), Aktouf (1994), among others. The theme was social representations approached from lenses contribution Doise (2002) and Moscovici (2003b). To analyze sociologically the reality of everyday life were used theoretical contributions of Berger and Luckmann (1978). We also discuss aspects of analytical thinking power, as Foucault (1995, 1999, 2000, 2003), converging with the contributions of the theory of social construction of reality. The theme was based health organizations with the definitions and theoretical approaches of Erdmann et al (2004), and Diogo Duarte (2000), among others. For research, we used a qualitative research methodology; participants were considered the top-level professional assistance of home care Unimed Vitória, and family caregivers of patients seen in the form of home care. Data collection occurred through semi-structured interviews and focus groups. The analysis was by means of content analysis. Among the results, differences were found in the hospital and home, with advantages and disadvantages when comparing both. These differences reflect differences of opinion that symbolically determine considered arguments for and against each type of care. You need to consider whether the care home, which extend the existence of the individual result in a symbolic connotation of life or survival? Also notable was the loss of privacy in the residence, as housing becomes symbolically in a "virtual hospital". This impact was expressed by changes in routines each family, as changes in the social, marital, physical, emotional and financial family. Was still recognized the existence of power relations between health staff and family, between members of the healthcare team and between family members. The results also pointed to the understanding of the concept of teamwork by professionals. The recognition of this concept provided an opportunity to realize that the complicity between members who work in the collective work results in building symbols. The results of this study showed that different representations of social actors permeate the social construction of each reality. Also found that the signs and symbols created in the history of each, proved changeable, adaptable and influencers before a new scenario. And although the social practices of the actors involved in a home care service are influenced by social representations of the groups involved and the symbolic aspects that permeate the entire structure around|
