- ItemRede Globo e territorialidades : controle e sobrevivência sob a ótica do paradigma da complexidade(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2015-11-20) Mantovaneli, Wagner Piassaroli; Martinuzzo, José Antonio; Ribeiro, Renata de Rezende; Rebouças, José EdgardThis research aims to investigate the relationship between Rede Globo and control society context. To this end, we describe a history of Rede Globo behavioral strategies in the political and economic framework so that we can place it in the desired context without, however, forgetting the extensive historical process that leads to such a relationship. We will study this object and its relationship to the context from a perspective of the social, which is the political economy. From definition proposed by Vincent Mosco, we decided to analyze the social in terms of mutual constitution of the social reproduction (economy) and the social control (policy), able to take us to a conception of a totality dinamized by historical process. From the beginning to the present day where Marinho family is still present, it is evident its role during the Brazilian industrialization process in the consolidation of a modern Brazilian society related to the context of overall survival relations. The national communication system that would help to aggregate the country would be, increasingly, consistent with the worldwide system of communication, led by the United States, especially. In this conjunction, we come to the society of control, consisting of global and local territoriality in recursive relationship. To study this process we could not find ourselves comfortable before knowing how to deal with the complex web involving the social. Dealing with this complexity is, first, to know the possibilities that knowledge has to produce a consistent thought with the multiple relations organized in certain methodological system. We found in Morin’s complexity paradigm a way to understand the knowledge and make it a good tool to the understanding of what is woven together in society. Seeing our object - Globo - as a major player in the great game of control society involves thinking the territorial systems in which it negotiates its power, producing and being produced at the same time by social forces. Thinking of so many relations and relations of relations brings us to surrender to a paradigm of complexity, that is, a knowledge capable of dealing with a reality made up of order and chaos in mutual constitution.

- ItemO bonde passou : videoclipes de funk ostentação e o mercado musical brasileiro na Internet(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2016-02-19) Belo, Rafaela Freitas; Zanetti, Daniela; https://orcid.org/0000000157082607; Rebouças, José Edgard; Vicente, EduardoThe research aims to analyze the release of videoclips from artists of ostentation funk from the formal and market perspective to understand the place that cultural object - the ostentation funk - occupies in Brazilian popular music field today and how their production logic and media coverage from the uses of video clips on the web establishes alternative models of integration in the cultural industry, for after the success to be appropriate by the larger music industry. The research analyzes the ostentation funk field through the success of videoclips released by MC Gui and MC Guimê, artists who have achieved great repercussion on YouTube and are also characterized by having gained ground in other media, especially TV and radio. From the historical background in the course of work, we understand that the funk that emerged in Rio de Janeiro arrived in São Paulo and was adapted to the rap amid a backdrop of expanding middle class, economic development, larger access to the internet, professionalization of agents, emergence of video editing tools that have facilitated user interface and rise of social networking, creating the ostentation funk on the outskirts of Brazil's largest metropolis. The ostentation funk is housed in a mainstream musical circulation system and is part of the structures of pop music, through the success of videoclips available on the Internet, but also it's part of an independent scenario with artists who produce and publish their own work. The research concludes that the videoclip is essential for the popularization of ostentation funk, through the dynamics of movement and dissemination of videos on YouTube and there is a rapprochement with US rappers through clothing, the theme and the objects present in the videoclips
- ItemAs TVs universitárias no contexto das indústrias culturais e midiáticas : o desafio conceitual e a busca de um modelo(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2016-03-28) Dias, Ana Paula Vieira de Souza; Rebouças, José Edgard; Temer, Ana Carolina Rocha Pessôa; Martinuzzo, José AntonioThis work aims to show the importance of University TV from the point of view of the guarantee of rights, like the right to information, communication and education, and social point of view, as the body that can contribute to the democratization of communication and for the formation of active citizenship of individuals. Thus, considering that the University TV is a communication vehicle set up as part of an institution of education, the proposal is to analyze it located at the interface of these two areas: Communication and Education, understood from the perspective of Educommunication. This approach is the opposite of what here is called commercial media, that is only concerned with the profit generated by vehicles. Given this paradox and TV University as study object inserted in this context, comes up the following questioning: how the University TV can be on a commercial television feature counterpoint model of cultural and media industries? From this discussion, the general objective of the research is to understand the University TV in its entirety, clarifying their legal constitution, administrative, financial and logical that govern it in order to explain their way of working and seeking possible models for its constitution while publica television, committed to the values of Educommunication and promotion of citizenship. The work is in the line of research "Communication and Power", at the Master in Communication and Territorialities of the Federal University of Espírito Santo (Ufes), that proposes an analysis of a kind of media-communication device, noting that way it impacts the social, economic and political context in which it appears. To this end, the method used is the case study of six university TVs of federal universities, using literature, questionnaires answered by the managers of the selected TVs, sample analysis, data and documents collected. Adopt a critical perspective, from the theoretical framework of the Frankfurt School, the Political Economy of Communication and Educommunication. Finally, it is concluded that the lack of a model and a University TV project harms its consolidation. In this sense, we point out some indications of possible models for the establishment of University TVs so that they can expand their potential performance.
- ItemAfrosamurai : uma análise sobre a representação de um heroí e protagonista negro na narrativa transnacional do Anime(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2016-04-01) Rangel, Edson Alves; Menotti, Gabriel; Brandão, Alessandra; Vieira Junior, ErlyThis study analyzes the representation of a black player in the transnational anime AfroSamurai. In this analysis, we demonstrate that the narrative construction of the series, built in the form of a saga hero, working some issues that are relevant to the black people amid the world of representation and science fiction of a globalized society. Issues related to the deconstruction of racial determinism formed amid modernity and reconfigured in the midst of post-modernity. And that treatment of these issues is approaching to that given by the Afrofuturism approach that works the relationship between science fiction and political issues relevant to black people. We also demonstrated that the visual narrative of the Afro Samurai series approaches another approach to modernity experience and post-modernity, from a Japanese perspective, in order to reconfigure the treatment and approach to this narrative construction gives the issues that are relevant for black people.
- ItemA comunicação dos movimentos sociais como meio de empoderamento para a cidadania(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2016-04-05) Antolini, Marialina Côgo; Rebouças, José Edgard; Henriques, Rafael Paes; Peruzzo, CiciliaThis research seeks to understand the relationship between communicative processes and the citizenship’s achievements. Here, communication is perceived in its broadest sense – it includes the mass media information, that brings information and entertainment, but are often manipulated by economic interests; the alternative media, which amplifies voices and fight for rights, especially those practiced by the social movements; and the interpersonal communication, dialogic, which permeates people’s everyday processes and the public spheres discussions, generating debate. All these "communications" are perceived as an essential part of understanding what is citizenship, the way it evolves and influences the manner citizens are seen as such. Social movements are analyzed as a fundamental part of this issue, since they act as the principal agents of struggle for rights in contemporary societies. This study justifies itself as it seeks to contribute to the understanding of the relationship between the communication processes that permeate the daily life of civil society, from the communication analysis involving social movements. The main proposition is the communication in all its aspects is essential to these movements while actors in the fighting for rights and citizenship’s strengthening. For this, we present a historical and the current discussion of the concepts of citizenship, human rights, participation and social movements and their relations with the communication field. The goal is to contribute to the understanding of the relationship between communication, democratic processes and the construction of citizenship, systematically little researched yet. This theoretical study uses as methodology the literature survey in order to identify, discuss and relate concepts already developed by researchers from the different fields addressed. - ItemUm outro junho : o movimento #NãoVaiTerCopa, o diálogo no Twitter e as controvérsias sobre a Copa do Mundo de 2014(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2016-06-22) Medeiros, Jean Maicon Rickes; Lima, Fábio Luiz Malini de; Reis, Ruth de Cássia dos; Bruno, FernandaThis dissertation has the intention to do an analysis of the posts, tweets, made by users of the social network, Twitter, on the World Cup FIFA TM 2014 and the controversies formed for the preparation, organization and hosting of the event in Brazil. Thus, the research consists to address a theoretical framework involving the concepts needed to support the processes used for the completion of this work’s objectives. The central axis in this dissertation is developed by the sociologist Bruno Latour and it’s called Actor-Network Theory, which brings with it an idea that is opposed to the “sociology of the social”, and so involving and considering an analysis of the social with hierarchically equivalent actions between human actors and not human in their associations. This diversity in associations reveals the networks formed between these actors. Such networks can be mapped through the empirical technique of this theory, called Cartography of controversies. This technique is part of the methodology used in this study formalizing the analytical processes of the networks formed by the profiles and their interactions. The discussion takes place around the hashtag #NaoVaiTerCopa and its terms spread widely in the controversies around the World Cup, the analysis of the actors that it involves and the perspectives exposed in the networks formed by them.
- ItemA cidade rasurada : intervenções gráficas urbanas, comunicação e imaginação espacial(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2016-08-24) Ferreira, Sérgio Rodrigo da Silva; Cirillo, Aparecido José; Rodrigues, Alexandro; Reis, RuthThis research aims to understand how graffiti places itself as a radical medium in communication with the city, on a small scale and in different ways. It understands that graffiti has hybrid components flirting with a series of artistic doings of the visual arts (such as painting, urban interventions and the graffiti itself) and also literary, as with subversion, criminal, cultural and political resistance. The subject of this study belongs to the field of spatial imagination based on the thoughts from the geographer Doreen Massey, which states that the implicit assumptions we make in relation to the space are significant. In this sense, it understands the imagination as a mechanism for production of images, as it creates ways of conceiving the space within all its implications, in social and political effects. The documents reviewed for this study are the recent research on the graffiti interventions over the city and it serves as the basis for the notions on the city that are endowed in their discourses. The goal is to set urban space and the images in order to establish how the urban graphical interventions - Tags and Graffiti - blur the established boundaries in the city's territory. Therefore, it seeks to comprehend how the territories are the result of interactions between social relations and space control, a powerful relationship in a broad sense, at the same time more concretely (domination) and symbolic (a type of appropriation as in those cases where we will analyze). Controlling the space is traditionally done by demarcation, through limits and boundaries, and also the discourses insert on the elements that make up the urban spatiality, which means to diminish or weaken the control over it. Thus, increasing the dynamic fluidity mobility of other aesthetic, information and alternative discourses to the public policies, priorities and hegemonic perspectives. The work of intervening is not to manipulate the pictorial elements, but to be appropriate from the material elements of cities and from their inhabitants movements that make the territory to communicate or to sensitize their audience. It is in this sense that the political, economic, and social issues are aspects passing through the understanding of urban graphical intervention.
- ItemRedes sociais digitais e o desafio da comunicação em grupos on-line : ética e informação no Utilidade Capixaba-ES-UP no facebook(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2016-08-24) Bastos, Marcela Tessarolo; Martinuzzo, José Antonio; https://orcid.org/0000000254661619; Zanetti, Daniela; Ribeiro, Renata de RezendeThis research analyses the informational exchanges and the communication challenges in online groups of digital social networks. In network mediatized society, ordinary citizen started to produce and distribute contents and this fact changed the communication flow. To analyse the flow of information, the communication interfaces and the ethics in these spaces with a strong territorial identification, we elected Utilidade Capixaba – ES – UP, a Facebook group, as the object of research. For the study, we did an extensive literature review, we researched data through ethnography, interviewed the mediator of the group; we also conducted the research with its members, we analysed posts according to the ethical principles described by Comparato (2006) and we followed step by step the discourse analysis proposed by Orlandi (2012). We concluded that digital social networks provide information in real time and connects members of the group through daily discussions on the internet. At the same time, there is a space of services, reverberations and hoaxes, bringing ethical principles such as solidarity, freedom, equality, security and all the implications involved in order to debate some issues. Most members still have a passive behavior, although they forsee the main advantages of these spaces in search of active citizenship and to be able to write and disseminate information and different opinions.
- ItemGuerra de mundos : a estratégia robótica no Twitter durante as eleições presidenciais de 2014(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2017-02-09) Regattieri , Lorena Lucas; Lima, Fabio Luiz Malini de; https://orcid.org/0000000287471053; Zanetti, Daniela; Antoun, HenriqueIs it possible to speak on a human communication schedule? This dissertation aims to understand the algorithmic role in network in contemporary society, mainly as automated agents - known as robots (bots) - acted on Twitter in the Presidential Elections of Brazil in 2014. We ponder that with the large amount of data (Big data), this reciprocal agency between human and non-human actors is activated through data processing and the mediation in the social media environment. Thus, we consider that the data flux in large quantity is composed in an associative character between human and artificial agents. Our hypothesis is that these actors in relation imply new communication practices and end up transforming public spaces of interaction in social networks (like Twitter and Facebook) creating a culture of massification and notification. Through a qualitative-quantitative method that connects cartography and graph theory, it is possible to collect, analyze and visualize the traces produced by entities of social networks. When dialoguing with theoretical references in philosophy, anthropology, communication, computing and literature, we seek to understand the scale at which the bot as an algorithmic tool changes our way of communicating and the implications in the digital sphere. Our analysis of the 2014 Presidential Elections is based on data collected from Twitter during election debates and the last week of the election. In this way, our discussion problematizes the bot as an algorithmic agent capable of interfering with the way the social is done.
- ItemReencantamento digital? : a internet como ferramenta de poder da igreja(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2017-03-22) Lambert, Karina Inácio de Araujo; Alves, Gabriela Santos; https://orcid.org/0000000306623703; Fonseca, João Barreto da; Martinuzzo, José AntônioThe history of humanity is marked by religion. Assuming the status of bridge between gods and men, religious institutions succeeded in maintaining, for centuries, relations of power as holders of religious knowledge, considered as unquestionable. In this way, their influence has unfolded on different fronts, becoming a social phenomenon that leads to behaviors, opinions and directs actions, often of entire societies. Until the rationality characteristic of modernity, driven by capitalism and Enlightenment thought, fragmented the religious world, provoking what Max Weber (2004) calls disenchantment. At that moment religion lost its hegemony as a producer of meaning, becoming a subjective choice. However, the pace and accelerated changes promoted by information technology have breathed new life into religion, but not without causing profound changes. From then on, there is the "unfolding of an individual, mobile and moldable religiosity that gives way to new forms of religious sociability" (HERVIEULÉGER, 2015, p.30). The media become a two-way street, for they both allow for a reenchantment by religion, and they bring about a shake-up in the authority of institutions, since they are no longer the sole holders of religious knowledge. Thus, this research seeks to approach the religious panorama of our time from the constant movement of religious institutions to maintain their authority and power relations, often manipulating the sacred in pursuit of social, political, and economic interests in a control society in which Power and institutions are crossed by the message of communication.
- ItemA dimensão comunicacional dos rolezinhos da grande Vitória : cotidiano, sociabilidade e visibilidade(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2017-03-27) Alvarenga, Angelo Bortolon de; Zanetti, Daniela; Pavesi, Patrícia Pereira; Lima, Fabio Luiz Malini deThis dissertation analyzes the daily life, the processes of sociability, with a view to some visibility, of young social actors from the outskirts of Greater Vitória. The imbrication between daily life, sociability and visibility is reflected in the phenomenon, meeting of young people from the outskirts of the urban centers, which took place in shopping malls (and eventually in other spaces) of the big cities. In this research, the object of study is characterized by the meetings held at Moxuara Shopping, located in Cariacica, a component municipality of the Greater Vitória metropolitan region. The rolls are organized by the social network Facebook, social network that composes an informational territoriality in this research, and concretized in person in said mall, geographic territoriality of that study. In this way, both territorialities are embedded functioning as a space for the effectiveness of the experience of young people. Faced with this experience, this dissertation will try to know some aspects of youth from the periphery, through the theoretical and empirical analysis of the little ones.
- ItemDiscurso fotográfico no Instragam : a cidade de Vitória sob o olhar de seus usuários(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2017-04-05) Bianchi, Ana Clara Magnago; Reis, Ruth de Cássia dos; Goveia, Fabio Gomes; Medeiros, Macello SantosThis work analyses the production of images in the context of the new communication practices. Our theoreticalmethodological references area aligned with the actor-network theory, the discourse analyzes, the studies about cyberculture and the studies about territorialities. We decided to focus on the social network called Instagram and the city of Vitória, capital of Espírito Santo, Brazil. We decided to Use a multimethodological approach that is aligned with the contributions of Big Data analyzes, discourse analyzes and content analyzes that allowed us to collect, organize and comprehend the data that is part of this work, 51,850 unique images indexed with the hashtags #vix, #vitoriaes, #vitorinha and #vitoriasualinda. We built a theoretical body that allowed us to comprehend how the informational and physical territories constitutes the contemporary cities, the algorithms cities, creating a new links with the place. From the photos of our data, we perceived two dynamics of discursive production about the city of Vitória inside Instagram: one that starts from given ideas, the interdiscourse; and other that innovates, the intradiscourse. The production of photographic discourse about the city inside Instagram acquire, at the same time, new and updated outlines as new actors fights over producing meaning of a city, in this case Vitória. At the same time, this meaning production reinforce the synthesis images of the city, made inside the context of history and advertising speech, and produce innovation, making space for new relations with the city
- ItemA morte na territorialidade digital : espetáculo, consumo e gestão do medo nas redes sociais(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2017-05-26) Sangalli, Heryck Luiz Jacob; Martinuzzo, José Antonio; https://orcid.org/0000000204998512; Alves, Gabriela Santos; Ribeiro, Renata de RezendeThe present research is aimed to investigate approaches concerning death on the digital social network Facebook. The hypotheses to analyze the theme consider that death is related to spectacle, consumption and management of fear. The production of content regarded to this perspective is only made possible by means of the current media-based society in which digital social networks prospered because it provided tools for the development of locus. Thus, our empirical object of analysis is Jogos Mortais +18 and Faca na Caveira, two Brazilian pages in which contents referring to the death are posted. The study is divided into three parts that build the theoretical framework by means of a bibliographical review: death, media-based society and social networks on the Internet as a source of new territorialities; and spectacle, consumption and fear, as mentioned above. Next, ethnographic observation and content analysis as a methodology are applied. In order to understand how death is experienced in the wide day-to-day of Facebook, a survey aimed at users was conducted. In this manner, it is concluded that death is actually connected to spectacle, information consumption, and management of fear, appropriated by specific individuals to manage control. In addition, we have confirmed that death is part of Facebook's daily living and sociability, and also consumed by users who are not included in pages that publish such subject

- ItemMudanças estruturais do jornalismo : o caso do Jornal a Gazeta ES(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2018-02-19) Guerra, João Claudio de Santana; Gentilli, Victor Israel; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9952-2949; Lima, Fabio Luiz Malini de; Angelo, Vitor Amorim deAt the turning off the lights of the 20th century, the internet becomes popular and, with that, the news portals appear. The written journalistic content that until then was an exclusivity of newspapers and magazines, start being produced and shared with readers, who start being used to it and demanding each time more quickness in consuming media. It is in that moment, from the ending half of the decade of 1990, that some printed vehicles, especially the more traditional ones, worried about increasing their range of readers, start suffering reforms to diminish the loss of readers and, in some cases, to target a public that did not use to read newspapers. The economical and identity crisis from these factors on and lived by those quality papers, with the arriving of the news, through global computer internet, brought deep changes to the field of the printed journalism. Among those newspapers affected by that situation is our case study: the newspaper A Gazeta, published in Vitória, Espírito Santo. A traditional newspaper, born in the decade of 1920, chosen to this research for its representability at the end of the decade of the 20th century and at the beginning of the 21st century, for constant editorial and grafic changes it has been gone through. How then, to have a printed newspaper facing this scenario? From the field notion (BOURDIEU, 1997, p.57) and the possible interaction between history and journalism, made possible by the Oral History, it is expected that through the recovering trajectory of "A Gazeta" between the final half of the decade of 1990 until now, and interviews with journalists involved in the production of these newspapers, to understand the condition of the journalistic making in this decade and what are their interference, as for what is related to the future of the printed journalism in Espírito Santo State
