Resumo
This master's dissertation analyzes the Lambert House patrimonialization process in the relation to history, memory and the educational experiences socially constructed by the individuals. The dialogue with the theoretical and methodological contributions of the philosopher Walter Benjamin and the historian Peter Gay allows unveiling the world views, images and interwoven values in the House considering an education of sensibilities constantly taking place in modernity which focuses on the cultural heritage. And from the theoretical elaborations of the historian Edward Palmer Thompson culture is understood in its plural aspects, marked by tensions, conflicts and negotiations and constantly (re) signified by the individuals through their experiences. With a qualitative study approach this documentary research and literature focuses on three key moments: the house construction in 1875-1876, the tumbling in 1985 and the restoration and transformation into an Italian Immigration Memory space in Santa Teresa in Espirito Santo State in 2010-2011. As part of Cultural History the reflections on the Lambert House represent the possibility of new perspectives and new views of the city and its history
