Resumo
From the Federal Constitution enacted in 1988, social assistance is inserted in the field of public policies, which represented a victory in the area of social assistance, which started to be designed and executed by the state power as a right of the population, with elements of social struggles guarantees of rights and the neoliberal economic system, as well as updates to conservative and normalizing practices and concepts. However, its implementation is 15 years ago and requires a better understanding of the services offered and their effects on the lives of users and professionals as well. This dissertation aimed to analyze practices constructed within the scope of the Brazilian social assistance policy based on a problematization of the relationship historically established with its target audience. Thus, this study investigated the effects of family accompaniment, having as reference field the Social Assistance Reference Centers (CRAS) of Vitória / ES. This study was configured as a participatory-intervention-research, with cartographic inspiration. For data production and analysis, interviews were conducted with users of the service in question. The professionals, who work at PAIF, participated in the construction of the research design and debate of the data, which gave them the opportunity to collectively analyze the work. The research points out as analysis the important presence of a dimension of support in the practices of social work, in addition to the granting of social assistance and benefits, which are also important and legal. The relevance of meeting, listening and thinking together was considered, which enable the creation and / or strengthening of the individual / family's relational network, helping to face the adversities of life, expanding the possibilities of action and autonomy. Such effects allow us to rethink social work by countering its traditionally tutelary and assistentialist character.
