Resumo
Introduction: Renal replacement therapy services have characteristics that safety related events, such as the use of complex technologies and invasive procedures and invasive procedures. The safety culture in these hemodialysis services is considered to be an organizational indicator that determines a pattern of behavior and commitment to patient safety. Objective: To analyze the culture of patient safety from the perspective of professionals who working in renal replacement therapy services in Espírito Santo. Method: A cross-sectional, quantitative and exploratory study was carried out with 158 professionals from 2021 to 2023, from eleven public and private hemodialysis clinics in Espírito Santo clinics in Espírito Santo. For data collection, the Safety Attitudes Questionnaire (SAQ) was used to collect data. To check the distribution of distribution, the Kolmogorov and Smirnov test was used and, for abnormal data distribution, the distribution, the Kruskal-Wallis test was used. The comparison between domains and professional category was carried out using the Kruskal-Wallis test, followed by Duncan's multiple comparisons test. Results: The culture of patient safety culture in renal replacement therapy services in Espírito Santo was positive with a total SAQ score of 80.7. The perception of culture and by domain differed statistically from each other in all of the questions. The study revealed satisfactory scores in the domains of job satisfaction and working satisfaction and working conditions in all the units evaluated, although it did identified unsatisfactory results in the domain related to the climate of perceived stress of stress. Conclusion: The patient safety culture in renal replacement therapy therapy services was positive and could have a direct influence on the safe practices and behaviors safe behaviors adopted by professionals
