The objective of this study was to analyze the process of knowledge transfer in intra and interproject levels of software development project teams from the perspective of organizational knowledge creation theory through a qualitative approach, characterized as a case study. The research was conducted through semi-structured interviews with project participants of a software development company. The results showed that, at intraprojects level, transfer and knowledge creation takes place through four modes of knowledge conversion (SECI model) and the knowledge spiral runs through in almost every phases. At the interprojects level, transfer and knowledge creation occurs only through two conversion patterns: Combination and Socialization. It was verified that although the knowledge created in project teams is little disseminated in organizations and difficult to be reused due to the characteristics of singularity and temporality of the projects in general, in the organization studied there is an incentive to knowledge transfer at inter and intraproject levels, motivated mainly by the management methodology adopted in the project (Scrum) and the informal character of the team (nerd culture). It was also noted that both intra and interproject environments, there is a knowledge transfer network, where key people are responsible for interacting the relationship between the involved parties, acting as nodes that links knowledge
