- ItemA mídia na construção da representação social da pessoa pública feminina no Espírito Santo, Rita Camata (1988-2010)(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2013-09-12) Almeida, Simone Patrocínio de; Siqueira, Maria da Penha Smarzaro; Nader, Maria Beatriz; Teixeira, Tatiana GianordoliConsidering the importance of the media in social cognitive processes and the growing interest from academia to analyze and reflect on the media, this paper will investigate the role of media in the construction of social representation of female public person, identifying the factors highlighted by the media - newspapers The Gazette and The Tribune - the preparation of news stories about former congresswoman Rita Camata. We understand that these discursive practices, produced by the media, are symbolic forms that convey concepts in society, reproducing beliefs, values and social identities, contributing to the transformation of social relations. We understand the media as a field of study in which they can seek construction of social representations. And working seamlessly with concepts of symbolic representation, discourse, male domination and habittus journalism, it is possible to understand the representation and the construction of the representation of women in politics ES. Since women's participation in national politics is growing, but still at a disadvantage to men. The centerpiece is the thinking of Bourdieu (1998) that man is a social construction, where social actors exert forces on each other, giving meaning to objective reality. Knowledge and social thought are built from the experiences with the concepts sent and received, and the mass media communication. And taking as object of study the public persona of the former Federal Mrs Rita Camata, the research will analyze newspaper articles published in newspapers The Gazette and The Tribune, the period from 1988 to 2000. The analysis will be based on the central concepts of Discourse Analysis (DA) French, since the method allows us to formulate hypotheses about the specificity of discourses that bind these same texts.
