- ItemComportamentos ativo e sedentário de crianças de 7 a 10 anos : contextos urbano e rural do Espírito Santo-Brasil(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2013-03-22) Andrade Neto, Flávio; Carletti, Luciana; Molina, Maria del Carmen Bisi; Leopoldo, André Soares; Amorim, Paulo Roberto dos SantosCurrently there is the recognition that social influences on health operate under various processes and one of them may be the context in which the person lives. The increase in health promotion policies generates interest in implementing interventions at the individual and collective, but before that, it becomes necessary to understand the issues that affect behaviors related to sedentary lifestyle and level of physical activity in different populations. The aim of this study was to identify and analyze active and sedentary behaviors of schoolchildren of urban and rural regions of the Espírito Santo from two databases from the project "SAÚDES Santa Maria de Jetibá" and "SAÚDES Vitória", both aimed at the aspects of research related to nutrition and health of schoolchildren aged 7 to 10 years. The sample consisted of 1242 children from Vitória and 528 from Santa Maria de Jetibá, totaling 1770 students of both sexes. Information on physical activity and sedentary behaviors were obtained from validated questionnaire. Statistical tests were made using SPSS software version 17.0. Most of the children were female (55.1%), normal weight (79%), nonwhite (52%), socioeconomic class C (41%). There were significant differences in time spent on physical and sedentary activities among groups. Urban school meet less the limits of 2 and 4 hours of daily screen. Urban children, mostly, were also considered "not active enough" and have shorter average daily of physical activities. Was concluded that rural schoolchildren are more active and spend less time on screen devices. These findings can support the design of different strategies for achieving the goals of stimulus programs to physical activity and reducing sedentary time in urban and rural contexts
- ItemValidação do questionário de avaliação da atividade física em crianças com idade entre 9 e 10 anos(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2012-03-09) Fernandes, Carolina Dadalto Rocha; Carletti, Luciana; Molina, Maria del Carmen Bisi; Amorim, Paulo Roberto dos Santos; Luz, WellingtonExperiments with physical activity during childhood have an important influence on behavior during life, because at that stage there is increased susceptibility to behavioral changes and to adopt healthy lifestyle habits that tend to remain in adulthood. Although known the enormous contribution of physical activity on health, their study is not an easy task. Because it is an important variable in health research, it is essential to measuring and imperative in the context of epidemiological research, but the instrument used in these studies must be validated for use in specific population groups. The objective of this study was to test the validity of physical activity questionnaire of the SAUDES study, conducted with children of 9 and 10 years, resident in the metropolitan area of Vitória / ES. The sample consisted of 107 children whose mothers or guardians completed a questionnaire of physical activity of children. Children used the motion sensor pedometer (DW-701 SW) for three consecutive days, following guidance on its use. To compare both methods were performed Pearson correlation test and Kappa. Most children were male (55.1%), public school student (74.8%), normal weight (57%), social classes C and D (53.5%) and skin color is not white (80.4%). Considered active 50.5% and 88.8% of children, according to the methods of the pedometer and questionnaire, respectively. The Pearson correlation coefficient between the methods ranged from 0.20 to 0.27 (p <0.05). In the analysis of agreement was observed weighted kappa ranging from 0.17 to 0.28. Results showed poor correlation and reasonable degree of concordance between the variables of the questionnaire and the pedometer, but significant. Negative correlation was observed between screen time and number of steps obtained by the motion sensor. It was concluded that the questionnaire of the SAUDES study, here validated, can be used to assess physical activity in children, as presented on the ability to classify individuals into different levels of physical activity is recommended for use in population studies of children with characteristics like.
