- ItemAnálise florística e fitossociológica de fragmentos florestais de Mata Atlântica no sul do Estado do Espírito Santo(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2008-02-15) Archanjo, Karla Maria Pedra de Abreu; Nappo, Mauro Eloi; Silva, Gilson Fernandes da; Silva, Aderbal Gomes da; Soares, Carlos Pedro Boechat; Chichorro, José FranklimThe objective of this work was to raise and discuss information about arboreal communities of two forest fragments, considering the lack of studies of vegetation of the south of the Espírito Santo state. The fragments are located in the municipal of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, being the Floresta Nacional (FLONA) de Pacotuba and the Reserva Particular do Patrimônio Natural (RPPN) Cafundó. In FLONA de Pacotuba, the composition floristic consisted of 258 species and in RPPN Cafundó of 258 species, being 111 species common to the two fragments. The richest families in species in FLONA of Pacotuba are: Fabaceae, Sapotaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Myrtaceae and Meliaceae; while in RPPN Cafundó are: Myrtaceae, Fabaceae, Sapotaceae and Euphorbiaceae. In the analysis of the similarity of FLONA de Pacotuba and of RPPN Cafundó, it was demonstrated that in spite of the geographical proximity, the different disturbance reports and regeneration, they resulted in different floristics compositions between these fragments. Being considered the diversity, the index of Shannon-Weaver (H) found in RPPN Cafundó (4,13), reach a more expressive value than the FLONA of Pacotuba (3,31). The value found for equability (J) is 0,60 in FLONA of Pacotuba and 0,74 in RPPN Cafundó. In the horizontal structure of FLONA of Pacotuba, the species Senefeldera verticillata, Actinostemon estrellensis and Anadenanthera peregrina dominate the community in relation to IVI(%); in RPPN Cafundó, the species that more stood out in IVI(%) are: Astronium concinnum, Pseudopiptadenia contorta and Neoraputia alba. The RPPN Cafundó presents larger number of individuals for hectare in the first diameter classes. The diametric structures of the fragments follow the general pattern of the uneven-aged forests, in reversed-J-shape. The vertical structure varies of 2 until 50 meters in FLONA de Pacotuba and of 2,1 until 54 meters in RPPN Cafundó
- ItemAtributos químicos do solo, desenvolvimento e produção de milho decorrentes do uso de diferentes condutividades elétricas da água de irrigação(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2011-08-29) Oliveira, Luciano Bestete; Reis, Edvaldo Fialho dos; Cecílio, Roberto Avelino; Garcia, Giovanni de Oliveira; Amaral, José Francisco Teixeira do; Rangel, Otacilio José PassosThe impact of soil salinity on agricultural productivity is a serious problem, especially in arid and semiarid regions, which depend on irrigation to ensure an adequate supply of water for crops. In order to evaluate the soil chemical properties, development and production of corn from the use of different electrical conductivity of irrigation water, was mounted in an experiment in a completely randomized split plot with three 4 x 5 repetitions. The plots consisted of five levels of salinity of irrigation water with a conductivity of 0.1, 0.8, 1.6, 2.4 and 3.2 dS m-1 and the plots, four phenological stages corresponding vegetative growth, flowering, grain filling and physiological maturity. In each phenological phase, tests were carried out, the crop growth and soil chemical properties and the end of the experiment was determined to grain production. The application of irrigation water with different electrical conductivity reduced the dry mass of roots, shoots, leaf area, number and grain weight per plant of maize cultivar and soil PL6880 increased the availability of the calcium and sodium as well as the values of electrical conductivity of soil saturation and sodium saturation, sum of bases, cation exchange capacity and effective potential, followed by a decrease in pH value, content of aluminum and aluminum saturation. The levels of phosphorus, potassium, magnesium and potential acidity were not affected
- ItemMadeira serrada na Região Sul do Espírito Santo : comercialização e propriedades(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2008-03-26) Lovatti, Lucélio Pietralonga; Nogueira, Marcelo; Fiedler, Nilton César; Oliveira, José Tarcísio da Silva; Silva, José de Castro; Chichorro, José FranklimThis research had as general objective to obtain information regarding commercialization and physical properties of the sawn wood marketed in the South area of the Esp?rito Santo State. Seventeen wood deposits were visited and collected samples, as well as applied a questionnaire for obtaining of the information. Through the anatomy of the log forty species being marketed as sawn coming mainly of the Amazonia area were identified. Regarding the collected general information, it can highlight, there are no one use of technical specifications established by entities of normalization, so much for the dimensioning of the pieces as for the quality in relation to defects and problems with the drying of the wood, which are commonly marketed green. The behavior hygroscopic in several conditions of relative humidity of the air and the relationships between retratibility and the moisture content of the wood for the main species was studied. The wood used in the study concerning of the behavior hygroscopic and of the retratibility are deriving from the trade of the area and also of the Laborat?rio de Ci?ncias da Madeira (LCM) of the Departamento de Engenharia Florestal of the Univercidade Federal do Esp?rito Santo. For the sorption curves it was observed that each species possesses own a characteristic that means a differentiated behavior among the wood in the several conditions of relative humidity of the air. In relation to the retratibility with the variation in the moisture content of the samples the shrinkages volumetric, radial and tangential not vary exponentially with the loss of water by wood.
