- ItemTrabalho, vida e morte no setor de rochas ornamentais: análise psicossocial do acidente de trabalho fatal para a família(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2011-07-12) Moraes, Ana Beatryce Tedesco; Moulin, Maria das Graças Barbosa; Avellar, Luziane Zacché; Jardim, Silvia RodriguesThe work is considered a changing practice of the reality that makes possible the material and symbolic survival that interferes in the subjectivity, in the healthillness process and in the life of workers. The researches about psychosocial conditions related to the fatal work accident are still incipient, and the effects of such accidents for the victim families have even less visibility, in a way that the goal of the current study was to analyze the psychosocial effects of the fatal work accidents for the families, in 2008, in the areas of marble and granite in the State of Espírito Santo. This research, considered exploratory, used a semi structured interview and the field notes as instruments of data collection. Eight families participated in the research, which survey used as reference the Communication of Work Accident. Data analysis followed the Method of Interpretation of Senses. The results indicated that fatal work accident brings several implications for the children, wives and for the other victim’s family members, causing damages to health, behavior changes and difficulty in dealing with the rupture of plans. The ways to face death indicated that overcoming the loss was made available mainly by family members, friends and religion, however other elements, such as work, study and psychotherapy, also stood out. Regarding the aspects related to social assistance, most of the companies followed all the legal obligations properly, and the SINDIMÁRMORE was presented as support for the families that did not have such rights complied. The government was in evidence concerning the benefits given to the victims’ families of fatal work accidents, on the other hand the government lacked regarding the actions of changing the work organization to prevent accidents. The families that participated in the interviews live with the risk existent in the sector of rocks as part of the work and experience death in that context with resignation. The view about work accident is intimately associated to the features of the activity in the sector of rocks, like: work conditions not favorable to safety, proximity between personal and professional relations, naturalization of risks and lack of information about the accidents – found not only by the family but by the public bodies as well – what is an alert for the urgency that the analysis of 9 accidents becomes relevant and promotes necessary changes in order to avoid them to perpetuate.
