- ItemEvasão nos cursos de Agronomia e Engenharia Florestal no campus Alegre da Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2019-06-18) Vargas, Helbert Ramanhole de; Vianna, Ulysses Rodrigues; Alexandre, Rodrigo Sobreira; Andrade, Wendel Sandro de PaulaThe objective of this study was to analyze and understand within the university community the evasion in the courses of Agronomy and Forest Engineering of the Center of Agrarian Sciences and Engineering/CCAE – UFES, in Campus Alegre, and to create actions and mechanisms for its reduction. It is understood by retention, the student who exceeds the ideal time in suggested periods for the completion of the curricular matrix and, avoidance, the premature exit of the student of the University. Currently in UFES, the forms of evasion can happen by: desistência; death; retirement; registration disabled; course reopening; disciplinary sanction; internal transfer; transfer to another Institution of Higher Education - IES. The sample analyzed was composed of students enrolled in the courses of Agronomy and Forest Engineering, comprising 10 entrance cohorts (freshman classes per course), totaling 539 students, from 2003 to 2011, extracted from the database of the Integrated System of Teaching - SIE / UFES. The research of bibliographic and documentary analysis is characterized as a quantitative study, having as a methodological orientation the diagnosis of the flow or follow-up of students, where it proposes the accompaniment of incoming students of a certain course, in a given year or semester, until the maximum term of curricular payment, according to the deadlines stipulated by the current curriculum of the course. In order to theoretically aid this study, the History of Higher Education began, the formation of Agrarian Sciences, specifically addressing the Agronomy and Forestry Engineering Courses. After analyzing a historical series of 10 groups in sequence in each course, it was verified that there are indicators that point to a potential risk of student avoidance and that the average percentage of avoidance in Agronomy is 36.67% and Forest Engineering 27.51%. The research line is Policy, Planning and Public Governance. And we have as expected technical product, presentation of a set of procedures to be adopted, aiming to acquire knowledge regarding student evasion in UFES, to carry out actions for its reduction.
