Resumo
This research aimed to make a comparative analysis of the Biology subject in the Basic Curriculum State School of Espírito Santo (CBEE-ES) with the Reference Matrix of the ENEM. For the accomplishment of this study we used the documentary research, which was compared with the competences and abilities of the discipline of Biology of these two documents, as well as their content. In addition, a qualitative research was carried out, using content analysis, through the application of a questionnaire to Biology teachers who work in state schools in the municipality of São Mateus-ES. The objective of this stage was to verify the knowledge of the teachers about the discipline of Biology in the Matrix of ENEM and CBEE-ES. It was observed that the contents of Biology in the CBEE-ES are compatible with the contents of ENEM. However, in the ENEM Matrix the content is more detailed. It was possible to realize that the teachers know the state curricular proposal and recognize the benefits of the proposal of interdisciplinarity and contextualization of the exam. On the other hand, their working conditions, among other factors, make it difficult to follow in this direction. In addition, it was verified that the tendency of ENEM in the selective processes of admission to university also generated changes in the teaching practice and, consequently, in the teaching-learning process.
