Resumo
This study soughtto characterize the changes in three species of Rhodophyta promoted by a acclimation in laboratory culture period, through analysis of ecophysiological parameters (pigment content, ratios of chlorophyll a / carotenoids - chlorophyll a / phycobiliproteins, concentration of nonstructural carbohydrates and ratio sucrose / starch) correlating with the antifungal activity of crude extract for algae collected from nature and algae after 28 days of acclimation to laboratory conditions. The results indicate different responses to the acclimation process is for each species of seaweed, especially with increasing ratios between principal and accessory pigment and the concentration of stored and metabolized sugars, factors which have proved to be positively correlated with increased bioactivity of the extract obtained for macroalgae after adaptation. In conclusion it was noted the importance of analyzing the response of each species acclimated to application of crops and cultivation techniques of macroalgae in controlled environments can be used to induce the production of metabolites of economical interest or bioactive.
