Resumo
The teaching of chemistry cannot be reduced simply to the transmission of symbols, formulas, concepts, but must be in reference to the life of the student, so that it can assimilate it easier and more enjoyable and meaningful way. This paper describes an intervention research in the school environment with the use of alternative methodologies as auxiliary tools in organic chemistry teaching. The teaching methodologies used were thematic workshop involving generative themes, the game entitled "Roletrando", consisting of a roulette with 18 divisions of 50 cm in diameter, question cards corresponding to the roulette divisions and response card, and experimentation on oil and Medicines. The research aimed to evaluate the evolution of learning through the application of thematic workshops, the game "Roletrando" and the use of experimentation in teaching Chemistry for students of the 3rd year of high school. The survey encompassed a qualitative approach based on Bogdan and Biklen (1994) and Ludke and Andrew (1986) and quantitative using the Action 2.0 software, showing how research method action research. The first intervention involving the teaching methodologies occurred in the first half of 2015 and evolved the topic Oil, while the second took place in the second half of the year, involving the theme Drugs. The participants were 90 students of 3rd high school series of morning shift of the State School Armando Barbosa Quitiba located in the municipality of Sooretama/ES. Data were collected through questionnaires, exercises and text production at the beginning, during and at the end of the thematic workshops, the end of the experimental activities and the end of the game applications. The results lead to infer that the use of the above teaching methods contributed to the improvement in the teaching learning, leading students to have the opportunity to better understand the way that the chemical may be present in their daily lives. This promoted the proactivity and self-confidence of students in relation to discipline.
