Resumo
From iniciation of the pandemic in 2020, the physical presence in the laboratory environment was restricted. In this way, the absence of experimental classes, a consequence of the international outbreak, was a blow to the student’s training, evidencing a need to adapt the pedagogical approach. In this context, hybrid teaching opens opportunity to use new tools that would mitigate the vacuum that is being left in the training process. In view of this situation, this study proposes a smartphone application that aims to contribute to the introduction of basic, but important, concepts in a practical way in experimental chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry classes, among others. The application in question, which helps to calculate solutions, is called CalSol and was developed as a web application, facilitating it’s access. A range of properties and concepts are introduced by the app, this way communicates better with new students, makes easier to absorb the necessary prior knowledge. The application also helps to optimize pre-laboratory procedures and makes the student able to analyze the results of the experiment from a new perspective. It is hoped that this material will be useful in preparing students who have just arrived at the university for future disciplines.
