The flaws in the processes of inclusion and permanence of the catheters are associated with substantial risk of bloodstream infection, which stems mainly from catheter contamination/colonization or contamination of infusion therapy. Thus, there is consensus that the educational interventions and the training of health professionals will result in the reduction of these diseases. In this way, seeking to meet a demand of the hospital institution in which the master’s student works, the development of an online course was proposed, for recognizing that it is one of the ways to propagate the recommendations of best practices in a uniform way and at the time chosen by the professional. This project is aligned with the line of research organization and evaluation of health care systems, and seeks to meet the demand for permanent education of the committee of hospital infection control of the institution. Objective: To construct and validate a virtual learning object of the online-course type for health professionals about the main recommendations for prevention of bloodstream infection associated with infusion therapy. Method: Methodological study performed in three steps: 1) elaboration of the online course content; 2) assessment of the theoretical content; and 3) construction of the virtual learning object. In the first step, the content were was elaborated using the recommendations of the National Agency of Sanitary Surveillance, the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Infusion Nurses Society Brazil. The second step consisted of the validation of content by means of a Delphi panel with the participation of eight judges. The Concordance Index was used, scored according to Likert scale. The third step was the construction of the online course that followed the user-centered design method. Results/Product: The production of theoretical content of virtual learning object was carried out, as well as the validation with an overall mean concordance of 0.85, considered adequate. The online course was organized in 39 screens of content that integrate the main recommendations for infusion therapy, with the production of images, hypertexts, videos, two-dimensional and three-dimensional interactive animations, audios, case studies and quiz, that interface between themselves by means of an innovative hypermedia. Conclusion: The course has current, interactive and dynamic content, having been developed in conjunction with the professionals of the service. The course has the potential to generate impact and be applied at national, regional and local level, for being a motivating and satisfactory alternative to permanent education, able to optimize the dissemination of information on measures for the prevention of bloodstream infection and, therefore, support the patient safety for the planning of health care and the implementation of actions for quality of care. After the registration of copyright, the course will be available for training of health professionals and students of health courses and the theoretical material will be available on the intranet of the institution.

However, for adequate training, the nurse promotes training and guidance to the patient and family / caregivers in order to transmit knowledge related to the dialysis technique, catheter care, food and medications, prevention of infections and other essential care to adapt the patient to therapy. The nurse, therefore, is the professional with the greatest bond with the patient and plays a fundamental role in this educational process, as he is responsible for welcoming, sharing knowledge and therapeutic monitoring. In this context, educational technologies are necessary as learning tools for actions aimed at self-care. Objectives: To develop and validate an instrument to support training for the care of chronic renal patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis therapy. Method: Methodological study developed in three stages: 1) survey of the profile of PD patients and their needs; 2) elaboration of educational technology; and 3) validation of educational technology. The content of the almanac was elaborated from a literature review and focus group with patients. To validate the content of the almanac, judges were invited, selected by the “snowball” technique and indication of specialists from the researcher's relational universe. The evaluation criterion used was an agreement level greater than 80%, analyzed using the Content Validity Index (CVI) and judgments according to the three-point Likert scale, being: “inadequate = 1”, “needs adjustments = 2”, “Adequate = 3”. Results: During the first round of validation, the almanac reached a global CVI of 0.86, therefore valid content, with all suggestions made by the judges accepted and adjusted material. This work allowed the development of three products: two scientific articles related to the theme and a technical production in the form of an almanac. The Almanac of Peritoneal Dialysis presents essential care for the safe therapy of a patient undergoing home dialysis, treating subjects of great relevance through simple, accessible language and playful content for greater interaction with the target audience. This almanac was composed of 11 topics: "The Origin of Peritoneal Dialysis", "From diagnosis to adaptation ...", "Care with PD catheter", "Physical Activity", "Travel and Plans", "Food", "Medication”,“ Dialysis environment ”,“ Sexuality and married life ”,“ Avoiding complications in PD and intercurrences ”. Conclusion: An educational technology for patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis therapy was built and validated. It is believed that the almanac will act as a learning facilitator for patients and caregivers, representing health professionals as a tool didactics of great importance in specialized assistance.
