The adequacy of this work process using management tools is necessary as the team can reformulate it in favor of the quality of care provided to the user. Objectives: To describe the elaboration process of a nursing protocol for patients undergoing computed tomography. Methodology: This is an applied research study of qualitative nature. The study was developed at the Diagnostic Imaging Unit of a university hospital in Southeastern Brazil, with members of the nursing team working in radiology as participants. Data were collected from March to June 2021, through focus groups, discussions using the brainstorming technique and construction of the problem tree to problematize the work process. Data were analyzed using thematic-categorical content analysis. Results: From the analysis of the content of the seminars, two categories emerged: knowledge and checking. The Knowledge category includes knowledge that subsidizes nursing actions for safe and quality care for patients undergoing computed tomography. In the Checking category, precautions that contribute to patient safety during the examination were highlighted, such as: checking the patient's identification, preparation, history of allergies, venous access and the resources needed for the day. The products of this research were the construction of the protocol for nursing care in computed tomography and, as a scientific production, two scientific articles were elaborated.
- ItemA flexibilização das relações de trabalho da enfermagem no Hospital Universitário da Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (1988-1998)(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2013-10-25) Alves, Sheila Maria Parreira; Coelho, Maria Carlota Rezende; Cruz, César Albenes de Mendonça; Massaroni, Leila; Borges, Luiz Henrique; Maciel, Paulete Maria AmbrósioA study on the flexibilisation of labour relationships in Health, and its consequences on the nursing work in a university hospital between the years of 1988 and 1998. Describing labour in the dynamics of capitalism, it contextualises the flexibilisation of labour relationships and its repercussions on the public service since the 1990 State Reform, concentrating on the university hospitals. The methodology of thematic oral history is adopted, resulting in a social historical study, with the analysis of oral testimonials being used to comprehend the perception by the social body of the nurse staff of a university hospital, of the meaning of the flexibilisation of labour relationships; the conclusion is that this process, embodied mainly by the outsourcing used for replacement of workers, has resulted in disruption and discontinuity of the services held by the hospital, in staff turnover, and in difficulties of administration due to the coexistence within the same organisational environment of different bonds, wages and advantages, causing losses to the institution’s functions of assistance, teaching, and mostly to the workers which are affected by social insecurity and the deterioration of the working conditions. The Brazilian Company for Healthcare Services, which assumes administration of the university hospitals with a new proposal of management, is identified as a still unknown alternative for the institution’s workforce, thus providing motivation for new studies.
- ItemAdolescente com doença falciforme : conhecimento da doença e adesão ao tratamento(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2015-09-28) Martins, Gisely Vieira Ramos; Furieri, Lorena Barros; Luciano, Luzimar dos Santos; Bringuente, Maria Edla de OliveiraSickle cell disease (SCD) is a very common genetic disease in Brazil, mainly in brown and black ethnic groups. Such harm is characterized by genetic changes and the prevalence of hemoglobin S (HbS) rather than hemoglobin A, considered the regular one. Studies show that almost 80% of deaths from this disease occur in subjects under 30 years old. Thus, the aim of this study was to describe the knowledge of adolescents with SCD about the disease and its treatment adherence. It is a descriptive and crosssectional research with qualitative approach. The method consisted in recording twenty individual interviews using a semi-structured form, targeting adolescents with sickle cell disease treated between March and May of 2015 at the hematology ambulatory of a federal public educational and research institution in Vitoria - ES.
- ItemAnálise das atividades laborais de enfermeiros de uma unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal na perspectiva da clínica da atividade(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2016-07-01) Schmidt, Priscilla Leite Nunes; Luciano, Luzimar dos Santos; Ramos, Maria Cristina; Massaroni, Leila; Bicudo, Sheilla Diniz SilveiraThis dissertation research was conducted with Nurses at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the University Hospital Cassiano Antonio Moraes (HUCAM). The purpose was to analyze the work from the activity point of view, analyzing what empowered and what underpowered the work. This is a descriptive case study with a qualitative approach, in which the Clinic of Activity was used as theoretical and methodological framework, as a proposal to promote a professional dialogue to allow that the overcoming of deadlocks could be made by the workers themselves. To carry the analysis of the work out, a photo workshop was done with the Nurses to take the health worker to the analyst place. The photographs produced and chosen by the associated group consisting of six Nurses promoted debates that led the workers to reflect on the work processes develop by them. The activities analyzed in this research that operated as empowering of the nurse's work in NICU were: the insertion of a Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter; carrying out the Nursing logbook annotations; and the organization of a bed. The activities analyzed that were considered underpowering in this work were: the checking of a prescription; the disinfection of equipment and materials; and the monthly schedule of the Nursing team. This research highlights these professional’s modes of work, revealing the sufferings and joys of their daily work. It also provides the expansion of the power to act for each with the development of strategies to face challenging work situations, which shows the product of this study. Besides that, the product is also a proposal for the Nursing coordination of NICU to organize regular team meetings.
- ItemAnsiedade e estratégias de enfrentamento adotadas pelas mulheres com diagnóstico de câncer de mama em tratamento quimioterápico(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2015-07-29) Silva, Araceli Vicente da; Amorim, Maria Helena Costa; Zandonade, Eliana; Miotto, Maria Helena Monteiro BarrosObjectives: To identify the trait and state anxiety and psychological coping strategies for patients with breast cancer, and to examine its relationship with sociodemographic and clinical variables, and to correlate the coping strategies adopted with the trait and state anxiety. Methodology: This is a descriptive crosssectional study, developed in the chemotherapy Ylza Bianco outpatient sector of the Hospital Santa Rita, located in Vitória / ES. The sample was randomly taken, and was composed by 307 women with prior breast cancer intravenous chemotherapy, either adjuvant or palliative. Data was collected through interviews, and the Confront Problems Mode Scale (EMEP) and the Anxiety Inventory (A-Trait) and State (State B) – IDATE scales were used. For statistical analysis, the SPSS program, version 19.0, was used. Results: 60.9% of patients were found to have low levels of trait anxiety, and 91.5% low level of the state of anxiety. The coping strategy most used by patients was coping focused on the problem, followed by focus on religion, and the coping strategies focused on social support and emotion were the least used. A significant correlation of trait anxiety and coping strategies focused on the problem (p<0,000); with focus on emotion (p<0,000); state of anxiety with coping focused on the problem (p=0,001 ); and with focus on emotion (p=0,004) was proved. Conclusion: The socio-demographic and clinical variables influence in a direct way in the level of anxiety and choice of coping strategy to be adopted by patients. It was found that the coping strategy chosen by women is directly related to their state and trait anxiety. Providers should know the correlation between coping and anxiety to develop measures to implement and help patients to choose efficient strategies for coping and, as a consequence, reducing the level of anxiety.
- ItemAplicativo educacional para apoiar o ensino do processo de enfermagem na assistência à mulher, à criança e à família em amamentação(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2018-03-28) Resende, Fabíola Zanetti; Primo, Cândida Caniçali; Leite, Franciele Marabotti Costa; Cubas, Márcia ReginaIntroduction: Nursing care to the woman, the child and the family in the breastfeeding process has a multiplicity of factors that may interfere with the initiation, maintenance and duration of breastfeeding. The development of the nursing process or nursing consultation individualizes the care and makes easier to identify the influencing factors, therefore contributing to reduce premature weaning. The nurse may use a variety of nursing diagnoses and specific nursing interventions to solve the observed problem, showing the importance of the procedures that bring nursing statements representative of clinical practice. This study aimed at aligning the benefits of Computer Information Technologies to Teaching-Learning and Development of the nursing process / nursing appointment. Objective: To reorganize the INCP® subset to assist women, children and families in the breastfeeding process, and to develop an application to support the teaching of the nursing process or the nursing consultation to breastfeeding. Methodology: Methodological study. The subset reorganization was performed in five steps: 1) Cross-mapping between the nursing diagnoses and outcomes of the INCP® subset and the 2015 INCP® version; 2) Content Validation of nursing diagnoses and outcomes with judges; 3) Cross-mapping between the nursing interventions of the INCP® subset and the 2015 INCP® version; 4) Validation of nursing interventions with judges; 5) Structuring the INCP® subset to assist women, children and the family in the process of breastfeeding. The application was developed in four steps: 1) Definition of requirements and elaboration of the conceptual map of the application; 2) Generation of alternatives of implementation and prototyping; 3) Tests; and 4) Implementation. Results: 13 diagnoses / outcomes obtained (validation index of content) VIC greater than or equal to 0.8 (13.3%); 34 from 0.6 to 0.79 (34.7%); 51 less than 0.6 (52%). The terms “Lack of privacy”, “Decision making towards effective breastfeeding”, “Effective mother role performance” and “Improved mother role performance” had no other validated statement that maintained the relationship between nursing diagnoses and outcomes, therefore three statements were added, totaling 50 nursing diagnoses/outcomes. Of the 396 nursing interventions submitted for validation, 350 obtained VIC greater than or equal to 0.80. The application “Cuidartech Amamenta” contains five navigation options: “INCP® Breastfeeding Subset”, which brings the diagnoses, outcomes and interventions; “Case studies”, which contains 10 cases for the exercise of diagnostic reasoning; “About INCP®”, “About INCP® Subsets” and “About Interactive Theory of Breastfeeding”, which shows content about each of these topics; and “Credits”, which has information about the purpose of the application and responsible team. Conclusion: The validation process involved nurses from all regions of Brazil, which shows the representativeness of the statements in clinical practice in maternity ward, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Human Milk Bank and primary care. The subset, containing 50 diagnoses, 27 outcomes and 350 nursing interventions, served as the basis for the development of the application “Cuidartech Amamenta”. These two tools present themselves as new technologies in nursing that can provide the development of the nursing process or nursing consultation. The application can be used in teaching-learning as a support to students for diagnosis reasoning and decision-making.

- ItemAplicativo sobre processo de enfermagem em uma unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2018-03-26) Araujo, Jhonathan Lucas; Primo, Cândida Caniçali; Lima, Eliane de Fátima Almeida; Nascimento, Luciana de Cássia NunesIntroduction: The nursing process is the recommended instrument for the operationalization of nursing care. In a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), it is still performed in a fragmented way and does not use a taxonomy to substantiate it. Objective: To develop an application to perform the nursing process in the care of the newborn. Methodology: This is a qualitative, two-step study. In the first, the participative methodology of action research, provided a survey of the obstacles to the accomplishment of the nursing process. To solve the problems, four seminars were held to elaborate and validate instruments for acessment, diagnostic and nursing interventions considering the theoretical reference of the Basic Human Needs (NHB) of Wanda Horta and the taxonomy of the International Classification for Nursing Practice. The seminars took place between the months of January and March of 2017, the talks were recorded and transcribed for later content analysis. In the second stage, an application was developed and validated to operationalize the execution and registration of the nursing process, considering the norms for software engineering. The application was elaborated from March 2017 to February 2018. The evaluation and validation was performed in February 2018 by a technical team and eleven nurses from the NICU of a university hospital in the southeast of Brazil. Results: Instruments for the nursing process were elaborated and validated, which were the basis for the elaboration of the application, also validated by the nurses. Products: An instrument for the acessment and nursing diagnosis and another for nursing interventions were developed. The acessment instrument was elaborated in three pages, containing each NHB relative to the first stage of the nursing process for the neonatal patient. Psychobiological NHB followed the psychosocial ones. The psychospiritual NHB was not contemplated. The content of the acessment includes the evaluation of clinical indicators, devices and other relevant information. The nursing diagnoses were inserted in the same instrument, related to the acessment and the clinical indicators. The instrument for nursing interventions proposes 160 separate actions for each of the 36 proposed diagnoses, subsidizing the nurses' planning. The "CuidarTech Neo" mobile application was also developed to support the execution and registration of the nursing process. This, crosses data from the acessment with nursing diagnoses, assisting the nurse in the clinical judgment and diagnostic decision. In addition, it provides storage of collected data for later reference or change. It also associates with other interfaces and working devices, enabling the printing of historical data, diagnosis and nursing interventions, or storage in electronic medical records. Conclusion: The nursing process is a daily tool of nursing care. Technologies that make it more effective and efficient are necessary, aimed at improving the quality and assertiveness of nursing care. An application that operationalizes the nursing process may be able to make nursing care safer, faster and more scientific.
- ItemAtitudes do enfermeiro frente ao processo de enfermagem(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2015-12-14) Silva, Cristiane Rodrigues; Lima, Eliane Fátima Almeida; Fioresi, Mirian; Furieri, Lorena Barros; Oliveira, Elizabete Regina Araújo deObjectives: To analyze the Nurse’s position on the Nursing Process (NP) at a University Hospital. Method: This is an analytical transversal study. The sample was composed of 141 Nurses. The data collection was done using the Positions on Nursing Process (PNP) tool. The total PNP score could vary between 20 and 140. The score on the different items of the PNP were interpreted as: most unfavorable (mean score ≤4.5); favorable (mean score 4.6-5.4); and strongly favorable (mean score ≤5.5). Statistical analysis: Descriptive statistics and associations, conducted by Pearson's chi-square test. P <0.05 was considered significant. Results: The general scores varied between 73 and 138. The PNP total mean score was 113.29 (SD=15.33). The Nurses perceive the NP as significant, valuable, positive, intelligent, valid, meaningful, relevant, rewarding, convenient, acceptable, good, and important; hence showing attitudes that are strongly favorable to the NP. The score obtained in the analysis of the items that incorporate the adjectives: clear, agreeable, strong, comfortable, realist, and enabling presented scores between 4.6 and 5.4; hence, these have classified the Nurses’ position on these attributes as favorable to the NP. Only the analysis of the items that include the adjectives difficult and routine rendered a mean score of ≤4.5, showing attitudes that are more unfavorable to the NP. Still, presenting no satisfaction with the career, satisfaction with the work station and having previous knowledge of the Nursing diagnoses are variables related to the attitudes that are favorable to the NP. Conclusion: This study allows us to conclude that the Nurses at the studied institution have favorable attitudes on the NP. The variables related to the favorable attitudes are: presenting satisfaction with the career, satisfaction with the work station and having previous knowledge of the Nursing diagnosis.
