- ItemA canção dos deslocados: rap e (i) migração em tempos globalizados(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2014-12-04) Nathanailidis, Andressa Zoi; Nascimento, Jorge Luiz do; Soares, Luis Eustáquio; Almeida, Júlia Maria Costa de; Gonçalves, Ana Beatriz; Nercolini, Marildo JoséThis paper aims at performing a comparative analysis between rap lyrics and performances correlated to the phenomenon of immigration. From methodological premises related to cultural and intersemiotic translation, this study has the objetive of comprehending the discoursive content of rappers’ aesthetic works produced by immigrants and their descendants and captured in the cyberspace. Starting from an analytical-comparative study, this research intends to propose problematizations regarding the nature of aesthetic manifestations of this type, as well as the assumed relevance due to its transnational reach, factors which many times come from neoliberal practices and from the ‘post-colonial’ intensification of reality. In order to do so, it will be adopted as an object of analysis productions of Yoka (Brazil/ World); MC Yinka (Africa/ Greece); Anita Tijoux (Chile/ France) and the group Tensais MCS (Brazil/ Japan). So as to enable this proposal, it will also be necessary to use specific theoretical support, which is related to the field of Aesthetic Studies, Cultural Studies and Neopragmatist Phylosophy. Among the authors present in this research are: Júlia Kristeva (1994), Stuart Hall (2007), Hommi Bhabha (2007), Rogério Haesbaert (2009), among others.
- ItemA pintura na literatura: linguagem plástica em Não entres tão depressa nessa noite escura, de António Lobo Antunes(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2016-08-26) Souza, Aline Prúcoli de; Almeida, Júlia Maria Costa de; Sodré, Paulo Roberto; Paz, Gaspar Leal; Fernandes, Evelyn Blaut; Navas, DianaBased on the book-poem Não entres tão depressa nessa noite escura (Don’t enter that dark night so fast), by the Portuguese write António Lobo Antunes, the correlation between literature and painting is analyzed, aiming at understanding how the plasticity of his language manifests itself when comparing the book to a painting. Departing from four basic elements in a pictorial composition – frame, lines, colour and surface –, we have performed a homological and analogical analysis of António’s textual weaving. It was of great interest to us to understand the new meaning possibilities which the fusion between both arts may offer and add some contribute to the critical discussions around the topic, bearing in mind Lobo Antunes’ narrative. Therefore, it was necessary to revisit the first lines of thought about interart relationship, as well as understanding its current configurations. Our analysis is based on the theoretical writings of thinkers who work (on) the frontier between both languages, such as Anne-Marie Christin, Julio Plaza, Márcia Arbex and George Didi-Huberman. We aim at clarifying the fact that more than reading a text or looking at an image, we can look at a text to learn how to read its structure, as we can read an image when we look at its architecture. The homological and analogical exercise proposed based on a structural and functional approximation of two artistic universes called our attention to the existence of important aspects, which are beyond what a narrative may present in its theme. This way, it was offered to us a new key to read not only António’s text, but literature in general. The research has shown, at last, that (re)integration of two artistic areas makes it possible not only to semantically enrich artistic objects, but also and foremost to intensify the interpretive capacity of those who receive them aesthetically.
- ItemDiz-me com quem andas... intertexto e intertextualidade : uma leitura do romance Borges e os orangotangos eternos de Luis Fernando Veríssimo(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2009-12-15) Magalhães Filho, José Soares de; Soares, Luis Eustáquio; Almeida, Júlia Maria Costa de; Rebouças, Moema Lúcia MartinsIntertext is the subject that leads this research. A proposition for the notion is made, in opposition to the ideia of intertextuality. Propositions for the two notions are pointed, revealing that the concepts are not so easily placed. Freudian theory of remembrance process is used to question the authorship. It proposes teh concept of the intertext as memory for literature. On a second level, the basis of detective story as a narrative genre is approached historically, its origins localized in Edgar Allan Poe‘s 19th century, a time of positivist ideas, throwing a look at the american noir novels and its influence over brazilian detective stories. Borges e os orangotangos eternos (2002), a novel by Luis Fernando Verissimo is analized enphfasising on the intertexts. The novel has argentinean novelist Jorge Luis Borges as a central charachter and brings his most notorious themes, general references to general literature and to detective stories, as well as to the author‘s process of making literature. It proposes the intertext as an influence to the subject, as well as a means of looking for the ideological intentions brought by a text.
- ItemEntrelaçamento de vozes em Vidas secas de Graciliano Ramos(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2012-12-13) Sandrini, Elizabete Gerlânia Caron; Soares, Luis Eustáquio; Oliveira, Anelito Pereira de; Almeida, Júlia Maria Costa deWith the corpus of research the novel Vidas Secas (Barren Lives) of Graciliano Ramos, this paper aims to undertake a critical-analytical reflection that seeks to show how different voices and oppose social dialogue in this tissue polyphonic work which consists basically of a monologue interior. The object of study, the character Fabiano, his thoughts have reproduced authentically, which is guided by the narrator in free indirect discourse to give voice to this being almost "speechless". Taking up this in view, through an analysis that weaves the teachings of the Russian theorist Mikhail Bakhtin about the polyphonic novel and the French duo Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari on the theory of manifolds, relations dialogical between Fabiano and other social voices of the novel will be presented.
- ItemInterseções entre literatura e cinema em Confissões de Ralfo(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2011-08-26) Martelo, Geovana da Silva; Almeida, Júlia Maria Costa de; Azevedo Filho, Deneval Siqueira de; Alves, GabrielaThis study is intended to focus on the common capability of literature and cinema in producing narratives, for in the dynamics of storytelling on these two arts there seems to be an interchange that creates renewed forms of narration strategies. In order to set forth this study, a perspective that takes narrative s material supports involved in these two arts will be utilized. Such an approach considers literature as a system that embodies the phenomenon of narration. Within this perspective, the literary system is interrelated to other systems, assuming new outlines. As from these points of view, it is possible to defend that since the 19th century literature has been surrounded by the context of the new oncoming medias which have reached, in modern age, remarkable importance. For that reason, the frontiers between literature and cinema have dissolved even more, resulting in renewed forms of textual tessitures of theirs narrations. Thus this study intends to draw an approximation between expressive means of literature and of cinema so as to investigate the reflexes of the intersection of these two medias in the novel Confissões de Ralfo: Uma autobiografia imaginária by the author Sérgio Sant Anna
- ItemLa influencia del blues y el jazz en tres autoras afro-estadounidenses: Toni Morrison, Alice Walker y Gayl Jones(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2014-05-27) Cobo Piñero, María Rocío; Guijarro González, Juan Ignacio; Coser, Stelamaris; Rudolphi, Maria Frias; Raidagas, David Rio; Iglesia, María Ángeles Toda; Gomes, Heloísa Toller; Almeida, Júlia Maria Costa deThis Thesis approaches blues and jazz from a multiple perspective: as literary themes, as transgressive rhythms, as sites of vindication and as symbols of the music that emerged from the cultural contact during the diaspora. We explore the influence of these musical genres in three literary works written by each of the following authors: Toni Morrison, Alice Walker and Gayl Jones. These texts, mainly published between the 1970s and the beginning of the 1980s, show the influence of the musical legacy of the female blues singers, the syncopated rhythms of jazz and the vernacular culture of US African descendants. Female black writers break with the literary tradition of connecting just male authors with blues and jazz, leading the black female literary renaissance of the 1970s. This investigation brings together black feminist criticism, literary studies, and the history of black music to establish the role of blues and jazz as a means of resistance to race, class, and gender inequalities; the latter was pointed out by the female blues singers first and by the authors analyzed in this Thesis afterwards. The connection between the social background of music and the historical time in which the literary texts are settled is highly emphasized in this study.
- ItemMandrake e o hard-boiled: questões de masculinidade(s) entre Rubem Fonseca e a literatura policial norte-americana(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2011-03-28) Paradizzo, Felipe Vieira; Almeida, Júlia Maria Costa de; Salgueiro, Wilberth Claython Ferreira; Albuquerque Júnior, Durval Muniz deTaking into consideration the important contribution of literary and cultural studies to the deepening of debate about North-American detective narratives, this study intends to assemble singularities, disconnections and contemporary masculinity issues associated with hard-boiled literature, aiming to substantiate an investigation of its influence in Rubem Fonseca‘s work. In order to do so, we take as a starting point the studies of hegemonic masculinities, by R.W. Connell and her commentators, and the analysis of three of the genre‘s founding fathers, Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler and Jim Thompson. Considering the foundation of North-American detective novel, four works which has Mandrake as its main character will be analyzed : -O Caso F.A?, -Dia dos Namorados?, -Mandrake? and the novel A Grande Arte. Seeking to observe how the author utilizes the hard-boiled tradition and its implications in masculinities issues in order to create a work of enormous critical, stylistic and political potency.
- ItemMito e processos de identificação cultural em órfãos do Eldorado, de Milton Hatoum(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2014-10-09) Penalva, Liozina Kauana de Carvalho; Almeida, Júlia Maria Costa de; Nascimento, Jorge Luiz do; Cury, Maria ZildaIn this work we propose a discussion about representations of identities in the Brazilian Amazon, from the novel Órfãos do Eldorado (Orphans of Eldorado) by Milton Hatoum. This narrative is developed in a context of living together with multiple and complex cultures that slide by mobile, unstable and indeterminate boundaries. The proposal is to observe how relationships of identities and differences are established in the complexity of Amazonian cultural, aiming to contribute so that voices, stories and myths buried by western perspective can be considered. Our study rely on the theories of Homi K. Bhabha, Stuart Hall, Jacques Derrida, Walter Mignolo and Ana Pizarro, who have helped to think about the cultural identity, not as a fixed and homogeneous essence, which remains unchanged outside history and culture, but as a process that is in constant dialogue and transformation, especially in the nowadays world where globalization, the media and media technology increasingly require a larger movement of the subject intersection and exchange of experiences and values. Therefore, the main objective of this work is to rethink the processes of identity, moving away from the exotic, savage and uncivilized approach that the travel literature of European chroniclers, mostly conceived us in their reports, as well as other texts that aimed to think Amazonian culture. From the experiences of the narrator of the analyzed work, we elaborated a discussion on how different cultures can apprehend from their differences, get mixed among themselves, sometimes clashing against each other, but also complementing each other.
- ItemO discurso constituinte como determinante no uso de tópoi e argumentos retóricos na construção das epístolas de Sêneca e Paulo(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2017-09-29) Santos, Zilda Andrade Lourenço dos; Leite, Leni Ribeiro; Almeida, Júlia Maria Costa de; Silva, Gilvan Ventura da; Fortes, Fábio da Silva; Rocha, Décio Orlando Soares daThis research was elaborated from the construction of a parallel between the production of the epistles of Seneca and Paul, during the first century of our era. The constituent discourse is the determining element in the way of conducting the trajectory of the epistolary genre. Seneca is guided by the paths of philosophical discourse, while Paul supports his text based on religious discourse. As a starting point, one counts on the support of Foucault in his investigations on the writing of itself like an ingredient in the prescription of the care of itself, in the Antiquity. It is noted that epistolography plays a fundamental role in that historical moment, functioning not only as a means of communication between the sender and recipient, but a form of exposition of the subjectivity that is revealed by the acquisition of the true discourses. These discourses are manifested in the individual's way of acting, determining the discursive position occupied by the ethos in the enunciation. The assumptions of discourse analysis, with an enunciative basis, in Maingueneau's approach and other researchers, in this same line, provide theoretical support for the analyzes. In the generic scene of the enunciation occurs the construction of the discourse genre and this requires a discursive scenography that directs it in the enunciative act, revealing the ethos of the enunciator, responsible for the discourse. The epistle as genre, in the writings of Seneca and Paul, provides space for each one to develop their arguments according to the basic foundations of ancient rhetoric. Starting from the constituent discourses, philosophical and religious, these authors resort to certain topoi, commonplace, and rhetorical arguments that are developed in the construction of their epistles. At the frontiers of philosophical, literary and religious discourses are the influences of Hellenistic culture that contributes to the approximation of these constituent discourses, exerting an effect of intercrossing, causing the interdiscourse phenomenon. Thus, the discursive positions of Seneca and Paul sometimes come closer together and sometimes departing, in view of the constituent discourses that direct them.
- ItemO reverso do olhar : as representações de si e do outro no confronto entre dois mundos(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2015-04-23) Nunes, Sandra dos Reis Abrante; Salgueiro, Wilberth Clayton Ferreira; Freitas, Marcus Vinicius de; Almeida, Júlia Maria Costa deMy research’s goal is to identify and to describe the modes of representation of the self and the Other in the confrontation between the different models of civilization caused by the “discovery” of the Americas. The research hypothesis takes as its starting point the concept of Sartre that the Other is only accessible to the subject through the look that turns itself into knowledge and becomes the representation of the Other and of itself, reciprocally; and that the look of the Other, when focusing on the subject, makes it possible for the one to see itself and to recognize itself in the way the Other sees it, revealing to the one not only what it is, but also, constituting it, affecting the way one seesitself and the world in which it lives. I take Orlandi as a theoretical counterpoint, that being so that, despite the complicated process of the containment of the senses and asphyxia of the subject, which is the silencing mechanism that characterizes the discourse over the Native Americans, it is possible to use this same mechanism to enable observation asan inside and an out, through the details of these processes of meaning, bringing to light what was muted. In my work, within a comparative perspective, I seek at first to verify the view that the European had of themselves and the inhabitants of the continent discovered and so analyze the discursive ways in which the European represents himself and the Native Americans. Then, I try to trace the hidden Native Americans discourse in European discourse and, through this, the view that the Native Americans had of themselves and of the European invader and their way of representing themselves. Finally, I highlight the speech of half-breeds and Native American authors to represent themselves and the Other.
- ItemOswald(ing) : antropofagia, culturas e fronteiras(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2012-06-27) Pires, Eloá Carvalho; DePaula, Lillian Virginia Franklin; Almeida, Júlia Maria Costa de; Gomes, Heloisa Toller; Coser, StelamarisBy considering an approach which relates postcolonial studies and translation theories, this study questions the use of linguistic loans and foreignisms in Oswald de Andrade s poetic productions as translation acts and anti/postcolonial critique. The postcolonial categories presented by researchers as Edward Said, Homi Bhabha and Gayatri Spivak namely, the rupture of frontiers, difference as an enunciative category and temporality in the in-between space and questions on translation metaphors and untranslatability, in dialogue with the rich critique produced on Oswald de Andrade, stimulate the careful analysis of anthropophagy in the literary texts taken as our corpus: O Manifesto Antropófago (2011) and Memórias Sentimentais de João Miramar (2004). The result of the present research stresses the need for considering, within our current postcolonial debates, the anticipation of this anthropophagic reasoning, thus revealing a better understanding of important postcolonial aspects in Brazil.
- ItemOutras margens de sentido: a recepção do leitor em duas passagens rosianas(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2009-12-14) Silva, Janaina Alencar da; Almeida, Júlia Maria Costa de; Trefzger, Fabíola Simão Padilha; Amaral, Sérgio da FonsecaThe present research investigates the stories Sorôco, his mother, his daughter and The third bank of the river , by Guimarães Rosa, having as mainly focus the reader s role in take these literary texts in. In order to do this, it was constituted a theoretical methodology based on the studies of Wolfgang Iser and his theory about the implicit reader, on Hans Robert Jauss and his hermeneutic and the game of questions and answers, and Umberto Eco and his definitions about the textual non-saids. The analysis of these two stories from the book First Stories permitted to check how Guimarães Rosa s reader acts facing complex and enigmatic texts which deal with features like craziness and lack of communication, texts which get closer on these banks , on which the work of filling the textual void becomes a really complicated task for the implicit reader. It was realized through investigations that Rosa s reader ranges between be frustrated with the results of reading and be happy with the path followed by the characters in their ending. The idea defended by Jauss which says that in literary texts the reader participates on a questions/answers game be clever when analyzing these stories, since there are many questions done by this implicit reader for which the answers sometimes do not appear clearly. It is this inquisitive reader of Guimarães Rosa who is contemplated in this work.
- ItemRaízes do Brasil e Macunaíma: narrativas e ressonâncias em torno da identidade nacional(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2016-09-06) Telis, Régis Frances; Almeida, Júlia Maria Costa de; Amaral, Sérgio da Fonseca; Salgueiro, Wilberth Claython Ferreira; Lima, André Luiz Dias; Freire, Pedro AntônioThis work is about the concept of cordiality developed by Sérgio Buarque de Holanda in Raízes do Brasil, comparing it with Mario de Andrade’s Macunaíma. In order to achieve it, we must consider the period when such works were produced; they were both written during a context where possible Brazilian identities representations were being searched, in the 1920s and 1930s, under the perspective of Modernism. The cordiality, such as expressed by Sérgio Buarque de Holanda, is a characteristic of our social formation, which was contrary to ritualism and aimed the affectivity. Such characteristic was not synonymous of “kindness”, but it meant only that the national character opposed itself the most from the modern rationality, preferring the actions from the heart. The analysis of our formation by Sérgio Buarque de Holanda privilege the psychosocial aspects and also highlights the personalism, patrimonialism, moral aversion to work, lack of hierarchy sense and social cohesion, besides the lack of ethnic sense. This perception can be related to the work of Mário de Andrade, where an emotional based ethics is valued by the main character. He is characterized by having an adventurous spirit, also by being careless, luxurious and personalist. Regarding this perspective, the studied authors consider our nationality in a formation process, creating a representation of what would better correspond to a Brazilian national identity. Authors such as Benedict Anderson, Homi Bhabha, Stuart Hall and Silviano Santiago, present a perspective that approaches those literary and historiographical narratives as ways to narrate the action, tensioned in between the rural and the urban, the ancient and the modern, the homogeneity and the difference.
- ItemTerritorialidades marginais e construção est(ética) : capão pecado e manual prático do ódio, de Ferréz(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2012-05-31) Mongim, Luciana Marquesini; Nascimento, Jorge Luiz do; Almeida, Júlia Maria Costa de; Gonçalves, Ana Beatriz RodriguesThis paper is focused on the comparative study of the novels Capão Pecado (2000) and Manual prático do ódio (2003), from the marginal writer Ferréz, as a way of trying to understand how the periphery of São Paulo, one of the largest cities in Brazil, is comprehended by literary word, as well as by a writer who lives in this marginalized urban area. We, therefore, look for understanding the way how the narrator of his novels, who recognizes himself as part of the periphery he narrates, changes the reality into literary subject and the ways how it focuses on the characters and the space narrated by him. Ferréz" novels present a place of enunciation that no longer silences the represented alterity, but points out the possibility of voice and another representation for the mentioned otherness. His writing lies in the discussion in which the fictional narratives engender strategies of resistance to the assumptions that define who is in or out of the spaces considered common and they are important in the process of understanding yourself and others, because they displace the perception and comprehension of daily life around us by providing representations that generate the production of other senses and meanings about the subjects and the spaces located on the urban edge. Starting from a movement that is in constant tension and conflict with the center and with its own territory, we ask: What do the voices that emerge from the novels say? Or rather, what are the structures and strategies that the author uses in order to speak and to make these voices heard in his literary gesture? Accordingly, in this research, we have made the choice of listening to these voices, or rather, trying to highlight on its sayings (written), the traces that shape the author literary word, more specifically what allow us to enhance some evidences of an attempt to formulate a contemporary marginal poetic.
