Its objective is to analyze the accomplished practices in training programs developed during the experience ComRio ComMar Opinião Popular (CRCMOP), which sought the implementation of a social technology of participatory governance along with capixabas territories affected by Samarco’s toxic mud of ore tailings, originated from the Fundão’s (MG) dam rupture. The study departs from the hypothesis that popular education, through educational actions in the training programs, occupied a main role so that mobilizations in the territories could happen, also influencing the survey results of the socioenvironmental impacts held by the very affected, people directly affected by the problem. Therefore, from the awareness of their new reality, while affected, they mobilized their territories denouncing the socio-environmental impacts arising from Samarco's crime. The methodological option was the systematization of experience as a means to develop research in popular education which seeks to reflect critically on the experienced path and produce new knowledge. For such, it was used materials developed for the training programs, as well as interviews with six participants among the affected ones, researchers from CRCMOP and the Espírito Santo Public Defender Office (DPES). The results state that while learning subjects became aware of their totality, they became more engaged and mobilized in their communities, pursuing their rights. When thinking about the human impacts pertaining the crime, they reaffirm Freire’s (1980) premises, that by assuming awareness as a social commitment, it also assumed a social consciousness, implying in a new stance from the subjects to remake the world. Therefore, the interaction between, Academia, Movimento dos Antingidos por Barragens (MAB – Movement of the Affected by the Dams) and affected communities was by the approach of the Freirean pedagogy, as it addresses a community reclaiming their rights, in which mobilization can cause social transformation.
