There are many ways to organize mental health services in the SUS. Here, through stories told from experiences of real work in mental health in the municipality of Viana (ES), some ways of organizing services that make up local strategies for the production of mental health in the face of the current scenario of public policies of mental health. Some public policies are connected from public dimensions with the effectiveness of mental health care in the services or professional practices of psychologists. Together with the public dimensions of mental health policies, processes of subjectivation are analysed, which both function as engines for the production of modes of organization, and are also produced in modes of organization of mental health services. It is argued, then, that for changes to occur in ways of organizing, it is necessary to change the forces that build these forms. We bet on the implementation of practices guided by the Psychiatric Reform and its intrinsic relationship with Basic Attention as a fruitful way of building mental health care resources
