The expansion of institutions, which took place across the country between 2007 and 2014, made it possible for the most vulnerable to access undergraduate courses, which encouraged the implementation of assistance actions aimed at permanence. In this context, the National Student Assistance Program emerges, which provides for ten areas to be attended to, including health care. However, the Program lacks guidance that establishes the procedures for its execution in institutional practice, and each university is responsible for defining norms, areas to be attended and allocation of resources. This study proposed to map the existing student health care actions in federal universities in the Northeast region of Brazil, as well as their operationalization; describe the health conditions of undergraduate students at the Federal University of West Bahia (UFOB), verify the pattern of access and use of health services offered by student assistance and identify their respective associated factors and analyze health actions in the context of the university and its integration with the local health system. This is a qualitative and quantitative research, which included federal universities in the Northeast region of Brazil, undergraduate students, student assistance professionals and a municipal health manager. Data were collected through electronic questionnaires and individual interviews. For analysis, in the qualitative stages, content and thematic analyzes were carried out and, in the quantitative stage, descriptive, crude and adjusted analyses. The results of the study were presented in the format of a scientific article, producing three articles. The findings found from the mapping of health actions in federal universities in the Northeast region, demonstrated that there is no uniformity in the provision of health services in the institutions; universities partner with internal and external bodies to improve service delivery; the professionals available in the teams are unaware of the operation of the municipality's health network and are insufficient to meet the entire demand. When studying the health conditions of the students, it was evidenced that, despite the majority reporting good health, a significant part mentioned having multimorbidity and weight change after entering the university and it was verified that, attending the last periods of the course , being a beneficiary of student aid and having gained weight is associated with greater use of health services offered by the university. Regarding the integration between the university's student health care services and the municipal health care network, it was verified that there was no intersectoral relationship between the two and that there were impasses for students to access the network, especially in relation to those who come from other municipalities to attend graduation. The results reveal the importance of offering health services to undergraduates, however, they point to the need to implement a national health policy capable of filling existing gaps and promoting integration between the university and the health care network.
- ItemCusteio de mensalidades nos cursos de saúde no ensino superior privado em tempos de pandemia de Covid-19(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2023-03-08) Castro, Caroline Feitosa Dibai de; Andrade, Maria Angelica Carvalho; https://orcid.org/0000000236906416; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5427520110626795; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6055-4804; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1658530107144331; Lima, Rita de Cassia Duarte; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2384472795664270; Garcia, Ana Claudia Pinheiro; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5559-7463; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6391903151079745; Almeida, Ana Paula Santana Coelho; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5808-5818; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2570855705420190; Rocha, Erika Maria SampaioHigher education in a Country is relevant when it comes to the development of its human intellectual capital and its socioeconomic aspects, besides playing an important role in the solution of several social problems. In this context, one must consider the difficulties related to both entry and permanence in undergraduate courses in Brazil, since we have a hybrid publicprivate higher education system. On the one hand, there is the dilemma of a public system, which is not universal, and which reveals institutions that are increasingly scrapped, dismantled, with a gradual insufficiency of financial and material resources, and more directed to the vulnerable population through a system of social and racial quotas. On the other hand, there is a privatized scenario with a significant number of private higher education institutions distributed throughout the country (84%), used on a large scale by the Brazilian middle class. In this sense, government and institutional scholarships, student financing and the direct payment of tuition fees by students to these institutions of higher education should be evaluated together as to the obstacles and difficulties both in access and in staying in higher education under a view of all the socioeconomic dynamics of the Brazilian family, in order to better understand the configuration of the reality of these different types of funding in the formation of human resources in society, especially when considering the current scenario of instability in all productive sectors of the nation generated by the pandemic of COVID-19. The objective of this thesis was to identify the repercussions caused by the pandemic of the COVID-19 on the health area students regarding the costing and financing of higher education as to the access and permanence in a Private Higher Education Institution in Espírito Santo that, together with the specific objectives gave fruit to scientific articles, book chapters and presentation in relevant congresses. The thesis was based on the Brazilian legislation that, in the light of the constitutional texts, approached the theme in question. The search was carried out in public organs and entities available on the electronic sites of the Ministry of Education and Culture, of the National Institute for Teaching and Research, and of secondary data from other researches that approached the theme and subsidized and contextualized the research object of this study. The research methodology was quantitative, according to the approach each article developed. At first, an online questionnaire was applied to the students of all periods and courses in the health area: nursing, physiotherapy, social work and medicine of a private higher education institution in the Metropolitan Region of Vitória, Espírito Santo, through a questionnaire with sociodemographic variables, costing profile and aspects related to the pandemic of COVID-19 that, together with the data from the documentary research with the institution, subsidized the foundation of this thesis. This thesis will be an instrument for the management of higher education in the country, both for public policies and for the ordering of the private sector, in order to generate a different look at the reformulation of social educational policies, generating debates and reflections regarding the management, regulation, and democratization of Brazilian Higher Education, as well as to add greater knowledge to the academic community in the production of scientific knowledge in the area of health, especially when considering the training of professionals in this area in order to meet the needs of the Brazilian population.

The central aim is to raise reflections within the prisoners about the founding causes for their own incarcerations. Furthermore, about the necessity to search for knowledge to illustrate one’s actions in order to avoid criminal recidivism which causes a new incarceration upon completion of sentence. The course of this investigation and philosophical practice addresses three diachronic periods of time. Firstly, with the assistance of Michel Foucault, this study approaches the basis and definition of the misconceptions in prison while recognizing the disassociation which occurs from the serving of the sentences to their learning purposes. Secondly, assisted by Plato, through his dialectic and The Allegory of the Cave, the discernment and identification together with the incarcerated population of the true shadows present inside the regulations of the crime world. From there, the perspective of one’s ability to avoid attitudes based on opinions, pre-judgement and prejudice, such as, chauvinist attitudes towards women, the practical target of this intervention, which caused the incarceration and may cause recidivism. Thirdly, the construction of a philosophical practice, based on the platonic maieutic and contemplated by traumatisms and groping, that lead the prisoners to the affection of their own existence. Accordingly, this aims to provide for the possibility to remission and transcendency of one’s crimes from the humane movement of one’s interiorities. This is the significant result to be achieved by this investigation and practice of Philosophy Education as means towards comprehension of the liberty within imprisonment, from The Allegory of the Cave – Prison Nevermore.

It takes the form of public policies that seek to improve health conditions with inter and intra-sectoral, territorial actions, based on comprehensive care, which considers people's assessment of their own body and health. Hemodialysis is a treatment that generates many changes in people's daily lives. Among these changes are leisure practices, complex activities involving various dimensions of human life such as social, cultural and health. In this scenario, leisure activities have the potential to generate well-being and are associated with various aspects of daily life, such as self-assessment of health status. Objectives: To describe leisure practices, identify associated factors and analyze the relationship between leisure practices and health status in users of hemodialysis services in the Metropolitan Region of Vitória - Espírito Santo, Brazil. Methodology: Analytical cross-sectional epidemiological study carried out with 1024 individuals on hemodialysis in the metropolitan region of Vitória/ES. Data collection took place from February to September 2019. A structured questionnaire was used to collect sociodemographic data, life habits, clinical and treatment characteristics, self-assessment of health and leisure status. Leisure data were collected using the Leisure Practices Scale. Results: The predominant population can be described as: men (56.7%), 30 to 59 years old (51.6%), with less than 8 years of schooling (51.6%), income of up to 2 minimum wages (54 .2%), who undergo hemodialysis in the morning (41.1%), with 3 or more diseases (68.1%) and in treatment for two years or less (38.1%). The most practiced leisure activities are contemplation and leisure (41.7%), social (37.1%) and intellectual (32.5%). Men practice more physical activities (p=<0.001) and manual women (p=<0.001). It was identified that being 40 years of age or younger increased the chance of having more leisure time by 5.26 times (95%CI = 3.86-10.15), never having smoked increased the chances of practicing more leisure by 2.12 times (95%CI = 3.86-10.15). % = 1.04-4.30). However, those who had eight years of education or less were 71.1% less likely to have more leisure time (OR = 0.289, 95%CI = 0.17–0.49). The chances of an individual on hemodialysis negatively evaluating their health when leisure activities of the artistic type are not performed are increased by 2.15 times (95%CI = 1.352-3.432); physical and sports in 3.20 times (95%CI = 1.858-5.515), intellectual in 2.21 times (95%CI = 1.444-3.405), social in 2.744 (95%CI = 1.744-4.314), tourist in 2.08 times (95%CI = 1.370-3.171) and contemplative and idle in 1.92 times (95%CI = 1.293-2.846). Conclusion: The factors associated with leisure practices above the median of hemodialysis users are younger age, higher education and the absence of smoking, demonstrating the need to implement public policies to reduce health inequities and increase leisure practices, which will contribute to improving the people's well-being. Self-assessment of health is associated with artistic, manual, physical and sports, social, intellectual, tourist and contemplative leisure activities, which have the function of providing social participation and giving meaning to life.
