- ItemO impacto da janela no conforto térmico: edificações multifamiliares ventiladas naturalmente(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2014-01-23) Santo, Amabeli Dell; Alvarez, Cristina Engel de; Laranja, Andrea Coelho; Nico-Rodrigues, Edna Aparecida; Santos, Cynthia Marconsini LoureiroThe building acts as a mechanism of control of climate variables, through its envelope (walls, roof and vents) and should be designed so as to provide comfort and energy efficiency. Among the components of the envelope, in multistory buildings, the windows deserve special attention due to thermal load they receive. The window panes work, particularly, as one of the elements of greater internal heating capability for tropical climates, mainly due to its transparency to direct solar radiation, easily allowing the inflow of much of this energy, which turns into thermal load. In this research it was analyzed the thermal performance of long permanence environment (dormitory) in free-running multifamily residential buildings, for Vitória city, considering the comparison between two models of windows. The methodology involved: 1) literature review aiming at the improvement of the fundamental concepts of thermal comfort; establishment of criteria for definition of models of window selected for comparative study; and identification of standards and methodologies of analysis of thermal comfort and performance. 2) testing of the methodology that investigated the most appropriate analysis procedure through the DesignBuilder simulation software. The analyses specially aimed the confrontation with the criteria for assessing thermal performance proposed by ABNT NBR 15575 using computater simulation and user comfort benchmarks considering the model of adaptive comfort of the ASHRAE. 3) final adjustment of the procedure for the comparative study between models of windows. 4) evaluation of the outcomes. The results indicate that, on average, a reduction of 45% in the frequency of thermal discomfort and reduction of up to 70% of the intensity of thermal discomfort, for the environment evaluated when the model of window was used with shutters instead of the model with no shutters. Thus, it is proved the efficiency of using blinds as a strategy of passive thermal conditioning in bedrooms for the climate condition of Vitória, ES.
