- ItemO mar não está para peixe : uma etnografia dos conflitos socioambientais em torno da Zona de Proteção Marinha e da comunidade pesqueira do Bugigão – RESEXMAR do Corumbau/Bahia.(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2014-05-12) Carvalho, Jerônimo Amaral de; Knox, Winifred; Creado, Eliana Junqueira; Lobão, Ronaldo Joaquim da Silveira; Trigueiro, AlineThe Marine Extractive Reserve (MER) Corumbau was created in 2000, from a collective action, initiated in 1997 through the leadership of local fishermen, seeking legal instrument to guarantee exclusive access fishery resources against activity commercial fishing-bob-shrimp that settled in the 1980s. During the beging of the MER Corumbau, fishermen received support from government agencies organizations from the third sector, but were Conservation International Brazil (CI-Brazil) has strongler action in MER. However, after the creation of MER Corumbau - between 2000 and 2002 - the Management Plan to guide the management of the protected area was established. The document was captained by CI-Brazil scientific and their technical staff, taking as a point of highlighting the creation of areas of total exclusion of fishing activity through the Marine Protected Zone (MPZ). The idea of a MPZ, for the CI-Brazil, which was indirectly and medium and long term, the fishermen would benefit from the possible increase of fish production, provided 30% coverage of reefs had some kind of protection ecological processes, such as reproduction and growth of species. During discussions of the Management Plan and currently a portion of local fishermen challenged the limits of MPZ because it would restrict access to fish resources. However, such a challenge was suppressed by non-formal relationships that members of CI-Brazil possessed with the main household of Vila Corumbau, forcing others in a formal temporary agreement. This questioning revealed a conflict of set of different standards between artisanal fishermen in relation to CI-Brazil and IBAMA: Artisanal fisheries as a type of action that follows specific rules of which human and non-human elements interact together, demonstrating a working knowledge and embodied constituting a comprehensive model of the world and of nature; Modern and globalizing concepts in a totally unrelated handcrafted nature of local practices, with strong articulation of an environmental organization of international scope, driven by the emergence of environmental issues, printing on site (the place of practice of traditional fishing) the idea of a space (Marine Protected areas), undocked of specific forms of nature / culture.
