A alteridade em Clarice Lispector

Realizing the theme of the otherness in the fiction writed by Clarice Lispector, this study analyses it in the novel The passion according to G. H. and in the short story “A mensagem” with the support of the existentialist philosophy based on Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Frantz Fanon and Søren Kierkegaard and also in the theorists whose works which would probably be nowadays the development of these reflections about the other, among which was chosen Pierre Bourdieu, Kwame Anthony Appiah and Jacques Derrida.

The presente dissertation has by objective analise the representation of sertão in the novels Romance d’A Pedra do Reino e o príncipe do sangue do vai-e-volta (1971), by Ariano Suassuna, having as theoretical support the conceptual notions of representation, appropriation and cultural practices to the perspective of New Cultural History. It was considered the cultural practices of Ariano Suassuna and the appropriation of oral and written popular culture texts. The vision of rural and archaic Brazil is built inside the novel through the representation of sertão as a place of confirmation of national identity, where the real Brazilian culture keeps intact to the detriment of globalized culture of big urban centers – being in evidence through the intertextuality kept by the northeast popular novelist and the literature of chivalry.

This paper aims at performing a comparative analysis between rap lyrics and performances correlated to the phenomenon of immigration. From methodological premises related to cultural and intersemiotic translation, this study has the objetive of comprehending the discoursive content of rappers’ aesthetic works produced by immigrants and their descendants and captured in the cyberspace. Starting from an analytical-comparative study, this research intends to propose problematizations regarding the nature of aesthetic manifestations of this type, as well as the assumed relevance due to its transnational reach, factors which many times come from neoliberal practices and from the ‘post-colonial’ intensification of reality. In order to do so, it will be adopted as an object of analysis productions of Yoka (Brazil/ World); MC Yinka (Africa/ Greece); Anita Tijoux (Chile/ France) and the group Tensais MCS (Brazil/ Japan). So as to enable this proposal, it will also be necessary to use specific theoretical support, which is related to the field of Aesthetic Studies, Cultural Studies and Neopragmatist Phylosophy. Among the authors present in this research are: Júlia Kristeva (1994), Stuart Hall (2007), Hommi Bhabha (2007), Rogério Haesbaert (2009), among others.
A cidade flutuante : espaços, deslocamentos e identidades na literatura pós-moderna

The city imposes to its inhabitants an endless movement, a displacement through spaces that do not show any signs of permanence — may it be identity, physical or urban. The urban text is made of constantly moving bodies that write it, many times, without ever getting to read it. In Paul Auster’s novels, and also in several contemporary novels, in a similar way, the characters only possibility of knowing the city comes from their walkings and the narration of what they experiment and testify. In their wanderings, they move through both subjective and empirical structures, as well as words, in an attempt to give shape to the city space and to the absence of any feeling of pertaining. This essay approaches how the urban structures and the contemporary wandering and subjectivity processes are literarily structured, taking as a guideline Paul Auster’s oeuvres, especially the narratives In the country of last things and City of glass, and, in a minor focus, other contemporary novels. In this conceptual panorama, we will discuss and analyze, therefore, the configurations of the contemporaneity in order to study postmodern subjective representations, their relation to the spacial organizations, the identity flotations and the wanderings in the urban space/time, as well as the ways those relations are composed in the postmodern literature.
A colonização brasileira pelo viés da paródia: análise de textos literários que põem a história oficial ao avesso

This dissertation aimed to investigate the presentation of Brazilian colonization in literary Works, specifically the novel Terra Papagalli by José Roberto Torero and Marcus Aurelius Pimenta, and in the poems “as meninas de gare”, “brasil” and “erro de português” by the modernist poet Oswald de Andrade, which intersect with other literary and historical texts through parody. The study is based on theoretical formulations of Mikhail Bakhtin, Linda Hutcheon , Stuart Hall , among others, about the parody and other grotesque forms, about the presence of historical characters in literature and about cultural identity, using the concepts of historiographical metafiction and anthropophagy, being this last one reasoned in Oswald de Andrade, for the analysis of the selected corpus, composed of critical and ironic texts that turn the official story inside out.
A construção da identidade nacional pela representação do indígena no mestiço antropofágico de macunaíma

This paper aims to do a critical reading of the national’s identity construction represented on the book Macunaíma: the hero without a character focused on the indigenous element as a matrix of the cultural miscegenation process. In an attempt to rediscover Brazil and it’s origins, the book of the modernist writer Mário de Andrade mimics and satirizes elements that he deems central in Brazil. He makes a indigenous representation as a brazilian mestizo component and promote the foreign culture deglutition as national identity resistance. For this analysis, the concepet of identity is updated through historical and dialectical materialism, which allows us to surmise from the book - that even in rupture with eurocentrism and plaster aesthetic, mainly present in the used language - that remains a bourgeois traits and metaphysical that deals with the indigenous as the other, revealing a representation and image of the primitiv, paradigma, predominant on literary production of Brazil.

We aim to analyze the female characters creation and the possible influences present in this process on the book Niketche: umahistória de poligamia (2002). As a theoretical framework on narratology and character creation process, we focus especially on A Personagem de ficção by Antonio Candido (1988), Pessoas de Livros. Sobre a personagem by Carlos Reis (2003) and Reading People, Reading Plots. Character, Progression, and the Interpretation of Narrative by James Phelan (1989), as well as in the notes by Kwame Anthony Appiah on A casa de meu pai: a África n afilosofia da cultura (2010) and Fábio Leite on A questão Ancestral (1987) on cultural relations of the various peoples from African continent.
A crônica e a crônica de José Carlos Oliveira em 1968: o império do sério e do útil

This study main focus is the book Diário da patetocracia – crônicas brasileiras 1968, by José Carlos Oliveira (Vitória, 1934-1986). Since there is no official status for the Brazilian crônica, we had to infer it based on a historic approach beginning with the XIX century, when Machado de Assis sketches a definition for the genre – still addressing the ancestral serial – as the marriage between the useful and the futile with the serious and the frivolous. In JCO's texts published every day in Jornal do Brasil and later collected in the aforementioned book (a posthumous work), we see an author working against the futile and the frivolous, as well as against the lyricism/intimism derived from bossa nova that characterized the crônica in the 1950s and 1960s. The social tension of that era would find a José Carlos Oliveira always ready, in his daily column, to address relevant topics in a serious and persuasive way, making it even difficult for us to call some of his texts “crônicas”. As a man of his time, in “situation”, openly existentialist, he answers those requests with a sartrean “commitment”. In order to understand the author's attitude, we resort to Bakhtin's concept of Architectonics of Answerability. We propose that it is possible to connect these two perspectives in order to identify the dynamics governing the individuals' ethical attitudes. In the examined texts from 1968, our evaluation is that the ethical dimension overlaps the aesthetical one.
A donzela Laida e o enigma da feiura em a demanda do Santo Graal

This work analyses the feminine ugliness in the Medieval context (13th century) by means of a study of the character laida in A demanda do Santo Graal, when considering the ambiguity of her figure and having in mind the importance of her benevolent function – to prevent the tragic destiny of Galvam – versus the adjective “ugly”, which she is given in order to not particularize her. Therefore, tries to understand such antagonistic aspects that configure the character’s ambiguity and its relation to the masculine perception of women in that period. It tries to prove the hypothesis that laida, in spite of the polarization that characterizes the feminine studies about A demanda do Santo Graal, in which woman is idealized under the light of courteous love or generally condemned by Christianity with the exception of Holly Mary, the aim of this dissertation is to prove the hypothesis that laida inscribes herself in a between place marked by Celtic and Christian cultures, inside a universe of evident misogynist and pedagogic tone.
A escrita como desaparecimento nos romances de Enrique Vila-Matas

The novel Doctor Pasavento, written by Enrique Vila-Matas, appears in the contemporary scenery as a narrative that intents to regain a prominent position in the literature. Its narrator, a veteran writer searching for the beginning of the writing, when it paradoxically disappears, it is circulating around the world, registering its experiences in a diary. He resorts to the literary tradition and builds himself as a complex character made of paper that sometimes destroys its fictional condition and sometimes embodies the destiny of the literature, that, for him, it is to disappear. Considering the narrator's actions, this dissertation proposes an analysis of the self reflective practice in the literary prose of the writer Enrique Vila-Matas, with special attention to the novel Doctor Pasavento (2009). The theoretical starting point in this proposition is in the context of the discussion coined by some contemporary scholars as "the return of the author", which questions many self referential procedures in some recent narratives, and at the same time rethinking the premise of the death of the author. Taking into consideration the contemporary studies turned to the self writing in convergence with the thoughts of Maurice Blanchot, Roland Barthes, Michel Foucault, and others, this paper verifies how Vila-Matas' writing, through his meta fictional resources, discusses with those thinkers and other writings of the philosophical and literary tradition. This research takes into consideration how autobiographical strategies were taken and relocated in the said novel, considering a time where, before the unstoppable growth of the media activity, it has become even more problematic defining categorical boundaries between reality and fiction. The points around the effect of the activity towards the media on the literary system is part of the reflection of the vila-matasians narrators, contributing to one of the author's obsession: the disappearance. This theme is discussed here from the visibility logic in the contemporary scenery, which offers many resources to expose the subject. That way, the central theme of Vila-Matas' novel gets a paradoxical approach, when considering the appearing/disappearing game in the literary writing in relation with the forces of exposition and fading offered by the devices of the media. The novel Montano's Malady (2005), that joins along Doctor Pasavento (2009) in a sequence known as "tetralogía del autor", also has an important role in this dissertation, once that it invests in the staging of the subjectivity that continues in Doctor Pasavento and, because of that, it contributes to the identification of the consequences of the self reflexive practice in Vila-Matas' prose.
A escrita de Maura Lopes Cançado: um contraponto com a (des)articulação da linguagem do louco

This doctoral thesis aims to research and analyze the literary writing by Maura Lopes Cançado, with the assumption that exist relationship between literature and madness. The writer's works, Hospício é deus and O sofredor do ver, show aspects that particularize Maura's narrative and language the narrative that locate the writer in fracture with your time. Within the conception of "contemporary" of Giorgio Agamben, Maura inscribes her in the condition of disconnected, eccentric writer, in disagreement with her time. Privileging the theme of madness, the reading of her works promotes possible links between the life and the work of the author, hospice patient, setting the activity of Maura's literary creation, simultaneously, as place of memory, of denunciation, of resistance and experience’s bending. The postulates of thinkers such as Maurice Blanchot, Heloisa Buarque de Hollanda, Flora Sussekind, Michel Foucault, Erving Goffman and others support this reflection. Once the Maura's writing shows in its elaboration the structure and the theme of violence, repression and pain, giving voice to a community closed in hospice, the manifestation gives a testimonial content in his works, whose approach will by the studies Jaime Ginzburg and Márcio Seligmann-Silva.
A escrita literária e a Olimpíada de língua portuguesa escrevendo o futuro: memórias de uma professora

This thesis articulates Literature and Education to the theoretical reference of the Cultural History of Roger Chartier (representations, appropriations and practices) aiming to analyze the teaching of the literary writing in the final grades of the Elementary School, with theoretical contributions of Tauveron (2014) and Dalla-Bona (2012), Geraldi (2011), Calkins (1989), Vigotski (2009). It aims, specifically, to analyze the pedagogical proposal of the Teacher’s Notebook, of the official program Portuguese Language Olympiad Writing the Future (Olimpíada de Língua Portuguesa Escrevendo o Futuro), which guides the work with the writing of the textual gender “Literary memories”. The subjects of the research are 26 Portuguese Language teachers from the municipal teaching system of Serra (ES) participants of the continuous formation, identifying profiles from their literary reading and writing histories, initial formation and conceptions on literature and its teaching, by means of questionnaire and semi structured interview. Finally, it describes and analyzes the portfolio of a teacher, who records her planning and work with the gender Literary memories. It is concluded that: a) The gender, as the title announces, deals with contents and practices of the literary sphere. The discourse of the Olympiad, however, in an ambiguous game of incentive and restraint does not evidence the relation of the writings of the students with the writing of experienced writers, both understood in this thesis as “artistic intention writings” (TAUVERON, 2014), what I analyze as instrumentalization of literature, as pretext to the teaching of writing skills in general; b) The selection of literary texts privileges memories of European descendants, contributing to the construction of a memoirist representation that excludes the ancestral memory of the majority of the students of the public schools of Serra (ES), the African matrix memory; c) the appropriation of the pedagogical proposal of the notebook by the teacher cuts short the review stage, what makes one infer a conception of writing as product and not as process, nevertheless, invests in the motivation to the literary writing and in the publishing of the texts of the students, important strategies to development of “author behavior” (TAUVERON, 2014), valuing the work with the gender Literary memories as form of history knowledge and of the culture of the city to the creation of pertaining bonds.
A ficção histórica em Vigilia del Almirante, de Augusto Roa Bastos

Analyzes the work Vigilia del Almirante, Augusto Roa Bastos's, published in 1992 in his most striking textual aspects, from the procedures used by the writer to the creation of the historiographical metafiction, which the author reveals himself to be the result of the fifth centennial celebration from the voyage of Christopher Columbus to America. Seeks, in filling the gaps left by the history of the discovery, understanding the making of a fictional Columbus. The particular truth of the studied fiction allows us to build and deconstruct the parody of the main character. The work of Roa Bastos invades the history and resumes Columbus figure of poetic and revisional mode. Concepts such as "historical novel", "mimesis", "likelihood," "defamiliarization" and others are addressed to the interpretation of the text. Also, the categories of romance are perceived in this study, as characters, time, space and plot, beyond the particularities of the genre in question.
A hora da palavra: intertextualidade em Caetano Veloso

The lyrics of Caetano Veloso are connected to the best poetical tradition, verses by nature, form and significance. They are setting by an inexhaustible self-reflection, endorsed by the world and the culture. Dialogical too in concern with the many literary and poetical traditions. Analyzing them by this way, this academic essay was constructed from a research about the connections between this poetic and the tradition, trough the studies of intertextuality. On this view, will show the authorial marks, direct and indirect, of tradition in the poetic production of Caetano Veloso, through of parodies, paraphrases, pastiches, quotations, references, allusions and others intertextual acts showed by the analysis of some of his poems.
A importância da obra de Solano Trindade no panorama da literatura brasileira: uma reflexão sobre o processo de seleção e exclusão canônicas

This research investigates the silence and lack of acknowledgement surrounding the name and work of Solano Trindade, one of the pioneers and most important representatives of Afro-Brazilian literature. The discussions on the appearance of Black literature in Brazil, stemming from the need to give voice and visibility to the many writers ignored by dominating sectors, are relevant issues identified and analyzed throughout this study. The present project not only aims to better understand and perceive the life and work of Solano Trindade, but also reflects on the process of selection and exclusion of diverse social, ethnic and sexual groups defined by the literary canon.
A intuição como método na composição de Água viva (versão final), de Clarice Lispector: a vizinhança da literatura e a filosofia de Bergson

The present study aims to investigate the intuition as the method of creating Clarice Lispector process, analyzing the relationships between literature and philosophy. It can be seen in the writings of this author a thinking experience with literary language in the vicinity of philosophy. The Water Live text (final version), border text, which is located in the medial space, the margin between the literary and philosophical, is the main corpus of this work, allowing certain boundaries. However, other texts Clarice also serve as support of research. The hypothesis guiding this research would be that the literary work of this author was ever actually thought about. No logical thinking, rational, Cartesian or existentialist. But another mode of thought: the thought behind the thought, the duration, and its variations, which in our view is directly linked to intuition and allows closer Clarice Lispector and the philosophy of Henri Bergson. But our goal is not to seek a relationship of absolute identity between the literature of Clarice Lispector and the philosophy of Henri Bergson, but to find becomings which are linked with or coexist in levels, in areas of proximity, indiscernibility, undifferentiated . The intuition that appears in the text of Clarice Lispector is not identical to Bergson (philosophical intuition), but another kind of intuition: the aesthetic intuition that goes further than philosophy because it makes things more in length, putting us directly duration in real temporality.

Dans le dialogue avec Michel Foucault, je soutiens que le roman Près du coeur sauvage, écrites par Clarice Lispector, n'est pas une fiction de la subjectivité. Pour ce faire, travaillent également avec le concept de devenir et aussi avec le concept de non définie, en convergence avec la philosophie de Gilles Deleuze et Félix Guattari. Je crois que le "cœur sauvage" de la littérature du premier roman de Clarice Lispector est devenu étranger à la tyrannie de soi, l'intimité, Œdipe, le droit, la tradition, l'humanisme, la culture, à faire comme un événement en dehors de l'Invention d'eux-mêmes, hors du temps, hors de l'espace, hors de l'ordre.
A literatura infantil no Espírito Santo no séc. XXI e o desvelar do autor-distribuidor

The children's literature chain in Espírito Santo – which beginnings are found in the 1980 decade, towards the 1990 decade, mainly with the emergence of the cultural incentives laws – comes growing to the XXI century, but with at least two impediments to its setting: the divulgation and the circulation of the children’s books produced in Espírito Santo. Contemporary, the independent publishing is the most frequent praxis: an author who produces, publishes, advertises and distributes his books, without an organized editorial-literary support. To understand the handicrafty dynamics of this children’s literature in Espírito Santo, a ethnographic research methodology was sought, with the consubstantiation of the genetic critical studies, ant it aims to know discourses and practices related to five writes that are involved with children’s literature chain in Espírito Santo (Elizabeth Martins, Francisco Aurélio Ribeiro, Ilvan Filho, Neuza Jorden and Silvana Pinheiro), that could let us see, by transcribed interviews and primary documents, traces of the children’s book production chain. Procedures and processes are studied where the author is impelled to transmute himself in roles other than the aesthetic creation. The children’s books writers in Espírito Santo articulations and the modus operandi were sought as mechanism to unveil the children's literature chain in the targeted context. The goal of this study is to outline a radiograph of the field, that articulates the local context to the other contexts. Among the theorists who we were based on, Hunt, Lajolo, Zilberman and Coelho (children’s literature in the world and in Brazil), Fonseca Reis (production chain in culture), Willemart (genetic critical studies) and diferent autors that writes about ethnographic research are highlighted.
