The study benefited from discussions on qualitative approaches of education for the study case to document analysis, observation participant, questionnaires, semistructured interviews and field journal. We worked with concepts such as: language (GIRALDI, 2010; BOURDIEU, 1996) culture (BARNETT, 2002; CANCLINI, 2009; FREIRE & FAUNDEZ .1985) bilingualism, bilingual education, language rights, politics sociolinguistic and educational Linguistics (BORTONI-RICARDO, 2004, 2005; CALVET, 2002, 2007; OLIVEIRA, 2000, 2007; HAMEL, 2003). The results obtained show that 95% of the students are Pomeranian descendants, and of these, 90% are Pomeranian-Portuguese bilingual. The uses of the Pomeranian language predominates within familiar among older subjects; When it comes to younger generations, the bilingualism. In other social areas, such as churches, schools, commerce and parties, the Portuguese is more applicant. In the school environment, the Portuguese is the language official, although that doesn't mean the cancellation of the mother tongue Pomeranian, which is also offered as a specific discipline. The parents underscore the importance of both languages in the lives of children and defend bilingualism for Pomeranian maintenance. It is attributed to PROEPO the merits of the immigration language maintenance, while the subject of the research show concern for the transfer of the language for future generations, as well as the expansion of discussions on the diffusion of the Pomeranian language in other social spheres. The impacts on the loss of language for the traditional Pomeranian people are still a guesswork, but can mean destruction of knowledge and traditional knowledge, transmitted for generations until the present day
