Resumo
The research guides its studies in teaching practices of literature and social engagement of the teacher passing by scenic speeches, subjective and social. In this perspective, legitimizing the importance of the teaching of literature in personal and social emancipation of the student body, and especially in the construction of the meaning between the "I" and the "world." The main issues problematized were the following: How the practice of teaching literature, structured at the theater, subjectivity and the social engagement of the educator can transform the school environment and enhance the empowerment of students? What is the role of literature in decreasing the number of repetition and dropout in public schools? The research discusses the relationship between the teaching practice of literature and the curriculum proposal combined with cultural events, with the purpose of social emancipation and the recognition of subjective questions in the teaching-learning process, using as methodology the qualitative research having axis as the study of cases, with assistance and with some perspectives of action research. The investigative actions are structured in literary practices developed in the discipline of Portuguese Language and Literature, in public schools capixabas. Many research dissertations and theses of Brazilian Universities point to a disqualification of literary knowledge in public schools - caused by traditional teaching approach, based on fragments of texts from textbooks, disjointed with the cultural manifestations, dehumanized and without social principles. The research points out other possible practices of teaching Literature - dialoguing with the theoretical texts of Paulo Freire, Jorge Larrosa, Moacir Gadotti, Leahy-Dios, among others.
