Sustentabilidade econômica e ambiental em três sistemas intensivos de produção de frangos de corte

Resumo
Food production in sustainable systems has to meet basic requirements such as being socially responsible, economically viable, ensuring human and animal health and welfare, and protecting the environment. The aim of this work was to evaluate the economic and environmental sustainability in three intensive systems of production of broilers in order to rationalize the use of natural resources and inputs. The work was carried out in two periods of the year, which represented winter and summer conditions. For each season of the year, it was used fifteen (15) houses, each containing 35,000 broilers, distributed in a randomized design in groups of three treatments (production systems) and five replicates (houses), including: A -Dark House system; B - system of negative pressure (blue house) and C - system of positive positive pressure (conventional). Daily measurements of temperature and humidity (maximum and minimum) were performed and these data were correlated with the productive performance of the birds. The following variables were evaluated as feed conversion, slaughter weight, Productive Efficiency Index (IEP), daily weight gain (GPD), mortality, viability, water and feed intake and cost per kilogram of broiler. The Dark House System presented the best indicators of economic and environmental sustainability through the reduction of water consumption and the cost per kilogram of bird combined with an improvement in the feed conversion rate and the Productive Efficiency Index (P<0,05). The semi-climatized system was compared with the Dark House System only in feed conversion (P>0,05). The conventional system showed higher water consumption, lower feed conversion rate, higher cost per kilogram of poultry and the lowest Productive Efficiency Index (P<0,05) in both seasons but i summer, the differences between production systems are exacerbated by thermal amplitudes. Regarding the mortality rate, it was observed that in winter, there was no significant difference between the production systems (P> 0.05). But in the summer, the Dark House and those housed with the Semi-climatized System had a higher mortality rate compared to the conventional house (P <0.05).
