dc.description.abstractThis work addresses the relationship between the sea and coastal cities, theoretically supporting the concept of maritimity; in which it designates society's relations with the sea, and by extension the territorial basis for these to occur, cities. Among the types of seafaring, internal-traditional and external-modern, the first type focuses, and in particular its expression through artisanal fishing. The Itapuã neighborhood in Vila Velha (ES) and its artisanal fishing community are objects of investigation in the search to identify and understand the maritimity that is expressed there, since not all cities or coastal locations express the same maritimity, as well as responding questions about the transformation and evolution of the place where the community is located; the factors that influence these transformations and the related impacts, and how they affect the duration of fishing activity and community relationships; constituting a fishing territory there. The presence of the sea reverberates in urban practices and transformations; in a sociocultural interface that changes them over time. To reach this point, the methodological approach uses bibliographic, documentary and historical methods about maritime life, fishing and the location. The aim is to expand knowledge about the relationship between the sea and coastal cities; in particular Vila Velha and Itapuã, in an understanding of the sea as an enabling and constituting element of a maritime and fishing territory, by allowing practices related to it as manifestations of the culture located there. With this, we intend to contribute to the understanding of artisanal fishing as an activity that characterizes and identifies Itapuã and as an interpretative key to the locality's relations with the sea.
dc.description.resumoEste trabalho aborda a relação do mar com as cidades litorâneas, aportando teoricamente no conceito de maritimidade; em que designa as relações da sociedade com o mar, e por extensão a base territorial para que ocorram, as cidades. Dentre os tipos de maritimidade, interna-tradicional e externa-moderna, foca-se a de primeiro tipo, e em especial a sua expressão por meio da pesca artesanal. O bairro de Itapuã em Vila Velha (ES) e sua comunidade de pesca artesanal são objetos da investigação na busca de identificar e compreender a maritimidade que ali se expressa, já que nem todas as cidades ou locais litorâneos expressam a mesma maritimidade, bem como responder a questões sobre a transformação e evolução do local onde a comunidade está inserida; os fatores que influenciam essas transformações e os impactos correlatos, e como elas afetam a duração da atividade pesqueira e a relação da comunidade; constituindo um território pesqueiro no local. A presença do mar reverbera nas práticas e nas transformações urbanas; em uma interface sociocultural que as altera com o tempo. Para que se chegue a tal ponto, a abordagem metodológica utiliza-se de métodos bibliográficos, documentais e históricos acerca da maritimidade, da pesca e do local. Busca-se ampliar o conhecimento sobre a relação do mar com as cidades litorâneas; em especial Vila Velha e Itapuã, em um entendimento do mar como elemento possibilitador e constituidor de um território marítimo e pesqueiro, ao permitir as práticas relacionadas a ele como manifestações da cultura ali localizada. Com isso, pretende-se contribuir para compreensão da pesca artesanal enquanto atividade caracterizadora e identificadora de Itapuã e como chave interpretativa das relações da localidade com o mar.
