Resumo
As indicated by the National Secretary of Human Rights, 95% of the youth under socioeducative measures are male. This reality is verified by the researcher through experiences working with youth during and after those socio-educative measures. As cartography is a way of doing research which doesn’t dissociates from intervention and social transformation, this dissertation was made by encounters and experiences lived by the researcher, psychologist and militant with the youth under socio-educative measures, fellow researchers, militants and professionals who work with this public, through a perspective which questions the incarceration of black, poor and male youth. Feminist studies’ dissemination was fundamental in problematizing essentialist conceptions about gender and an assumed definition of “masculine”. These studies go against the notion of a single masculinity, truer and natural, as masculinities are multiple, changeable and composed by distinct attributes. In Foucault, a normalized sexuality is produced and functions as a political apparatus for life’s control and regulation. Based on that, it is questioned how different masculinities, forged historically, act as one more apparatus created to preserve some lives and annihilate others. Masculinities aren’t fixed identities but dynamic, performatic social practices, which are constructed in relation with feminilities. Run through by matters of race, class and age, masculinities change according to social, cultural, political and economic contexts. It is discussed here how producing models of masculinity may intensify the violence on bodies historically submitted, according to Butler (2015), to conditions of precarity. In socio-educative measures, Psychology is summoned to talk about subjects, especially when it’s about adequation to social norms. In a society where the norm is white, adult, male, heterossexual, urban and middle class, Psychology must attend to which realities are produced by its knowledge, whose speeches may legitimate conditions of precarity to which those lives were and still are submitted to. Dominant models of infancy and adolescence, showing on legislations and politics destined to this public aren’t compatible with the lives of youths in socio-educative measures, and sometimes legitimate unequal treatment given to youths. It is based on the premise that different models of infancy, adolescence, social inequality, racism and gender are intrinsic issues to deprivation of liberty and must be put under analysis. Finally, it is discussed how gender invisibility and production of masculinity models become factors tha amplify and legitify violence against those lives.
