dc.description.abstractThis dissertation analyzes the factors that led to the increase in migration from the analysis of population growth in Linhares, Espírito Santo, between 2000 and 2010. Understanding the dynamics of the municipality and its reflexes in the migration phenomena have intrigued many researchers to seek explanations to understand this fact. This research aims to identify the cause of the massive increase in migration that contributed to population growth in Linhares, as well as the spatial repercussions of this phenomenon. The study carried out an analysis of secondary data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) related to the 2000 and 2010 Demographic Censuses to examine the population growth in Linhares and its relationship to migration. In this sense, the research analyzes the number of immigrants from Linhares, their places of origin, and their socioeconomic profile. In addition, it seeks to establish relationships between migration flows with tax incentives and the industrial dynamics of Linhares. Concerning the qualitative analysis, it was opted to collect reports from immigrants to know their visions regarding the growth of the city and the opportunities generated from this. Likewise, it examines the role of the Superintendence for the Development of the Northeast (SUDENE) in this context of economic and population alterations in the municipality. For this purpose, the analysis bases itself on the migratory balance of 2000 and 2010, the profile of immigrants to the Metropolitan Region of Grande Vitória (RMGV) - intra-state (except by municipalities of RMGV) and interstate - the benefits of SUDENE, and the distribution of workers in the sectors of the municipality's economy. Overall, the study shows that there has been a population increase with a dense contribution from intra-state immigrants due to Linhares' new position in the northern region and, at the state level, thanks to state and federal incentives and its infrastructure and geographical location.
dc.description.resumoEsta dissertação analisa os fatores que levaram ao aumento da migração a partir da análise do acréscimo populacional no município de Linhares, Espírito Santo, entre os anos 2000 e 2010. Entender a dinamicidade do município e os seus reflexos nos fenômenos migratórios tem intrigado muitos pesquisadores a buscarem explicações para a compreensão desse fato e, com a finalidade de desvendar essa realidade, esta pesquisa tem como propósito identificar a causa para o forte aumento da migração que contribuiu para o crescimento populacional de Linhares, bem como os rebatimentos espaciais desse fenômeno. Para alcançar os objetivos, o trabalho realizou uma análise de dados secundários do Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) dos Censos Demográficos de 2000 e 2010 para investigar o crescimento populacional de Linhares e suas relações com a migração. Nesse sentido, analisaram-se o número de imigrantes de Linhares, seus locais de origem e o perfil socioeconômicos deles. Além disso, busca-se estabelecer relações entre os fluxos migratórios com os incentivos fiscais e as dinâmicas industriais de Linhares. Em relação à análise qualitativa, optou-se pela coleta de relatos de imigrantes com o objetivo de conhecer as suas visões a respeito do crescimento da cidade e das oportunidades geradas a partir disso. De igual modo, examina-se o papel da Superintendência do Desenvolvimento do Nordeste (SUDENE) nesse contexto de alterações econômicas e populacionais no município. Para tanto, parte-se da análise do saldo migratório de 2000 e 2010, do perfil do imigrante da Região Metropolitana da Grande Vitória (RMGV) – intraestadual (exceto municípios da RMGV) e interestadual –, dos benefícios da SUDENE e da distribuição dos trabalhadores nos setores da economia do município. De modo geral, o estudo demonstrou que houve incremento populacional, com forte contribuição dos imigrantes intraestaduais devido à nova posição que Linhares ocupa na região norte, e em nível estadual, devido aos incentivos estaduais e federal e à sua infraestrutura e localização geográfica.
