Resumo
Violence against women is comprehended as a social phenomenon perpetuated by discursive structures. Understanding this issue, characterized as a public health problem, underscores the relevance of healthcare workers in addressing this social fact. The general objective is to understand processes favoring the banalization of evil, involving healthcare workers within the scope of a Basic Health Unit, regarding health intervention related to violence against women. This qualitative research is structured with a conceptual trajectory that incorporates the concept of banalization of evil, developed by Christophe Dejours from Hannah Arendt's banality of evil, and the gender concept by Judith Butler. Data were collected from healthcare workers in demanding higher education roles. This production primarily occurred through semi-structured interviews, analyzed through Similarity Analysis and Sense Nuclei Analysis. The research territory was a Basic Health Unit with a Family Health Strategy team. The analysis reveals that healthcare workers, when confronting violence against women, navigate between the banalization and dramatization of evil; the banalization of evil consolidates as an appropriate theory for analyzing healthcare workers' collective adherence to behaviors that foster evil; violence against women operates metaphorically in an osmotic movement between the health territory and UBS; neoliberal rationality brings significant implications in addressing violence against women. The conclusion emphasizes the relevance of Family Health Strategy teams and the Unified Health System as protagonists in the dramatization of evil, capable of enabling a satisfactory confrontation of violence against women.
