Resumo
The river basin Jucu occupies a prominence place in the State of Espírito Santo, as well as cover six counties, the river Jucu is primarily responsible for water supply RMGV. In recent decades the river Jucu has suffered the consequences of the advance of urbanization in its lower course, resulting in significant hydrological changes, with floods and floods contained in this section of the basin. Considering this scenery, the objective of this research is focused on the detailed study of the changes in hydrogeomorphologic low Jucu river and its environmental consequences, which is based on the totality of the geographical space concept presented in Aziz Ab 'Saber work (2002). Thus, we start from the integrated analysis of the natural and social aspects of the entire basin, with emphasis on the study area of the lower course of the Jucu river. It has been possible due to different data and information reference collected by agencies and bodies (ANA, EMBRAPA, IBGE, IEMA, IJSN, INPE), applications in GIS and other surveys, with field campaigns, photographic records, and bibliographic survey selected which allowed the realization of this study. The methods and techniques used in this study were satisfactory for diagnosis and analysis hydrogeomorphologic in this portion of the basin. The hydrologic analyses have revealed the growth of the maximum flow peaks (m³/s) in recent years, also the increase of the quota altimetric and the changes in cross-section. Regarding the geomorphological analysis of low Jucu through historical orthophotos, this showed accelerated advance of urbanization toward the main channel of Jucu. These findings revealed a significant correlation between changes in hydrological Jucu down and shape, the use and occupation of the land in the basin.
