- ItemA canção dos deslocados: rap e (i) migração em tempos globalizados(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2014-12-04) Nathanailidis, Andressa Zoi; Nascimento, Jorge Luiz do; Soares, Luis Eustáquio; Almeida, Júlia Maria Costa de; Gonçalves, Ana Beatriz; Nercolini, Marildo JoséThis paper aims at performing a comparative analysis between rap lyrics and performances correlated to the phenomenon of immigration. From methodological premises related to cultural and intersemiotic translation, this study has the objetive of comprehending the discoursive content of rappers’ aesthetic works produced by immigrants and their descendants and captured in the cyberspace. Starting from an analytical-comparative study, this research intends to propose problematizations regarding the nature of aesthetic manifestations of this type, as well as the assumed relevance due to its transnational reach, factors which many times come from neoliberal practices and from the ‘post-colonial’ intensification of reality. In order to do so, it will be adopted as an object of analysis productions of Yoka (Brazil/ World); MC Yinka (Africa/ Greece); Anita Tijoux (Chile/ France) and the group Tensais MCS (Brazil/ Japan). So as to enable this proposal, it will also be necessary to use specific theoretical support, which is related to the field of Aesthetic Studies, Cultural Studies and Neopragmatist Phylosophy. Among the authors present in this research are: Júlia Kristeva (1994), Stuart Hall (2007), Hommi Bhabha (2007), Rogério Haesbaert (2009), among others.
- ItemA pintura na literatura: linguagem plástica em Não entres tão depressa nessa noite escura, de António Lobo Antunes(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2016-08-26) Souza, Aline Prúcoli de; Almeida, Júlia Maria Costa de; Sodré, Paulo Roberto; Paz, Gaspar Leal; Fernandes, Evelyn Blaut; Navas, DianaBased on the book-poem Não entres tão depressa nessa noite escura (Don’t enter that dark night so fast), by the Portuguese write António Lobo Antunes, the correlation between literature and painting is analyzed, aiming at understanding how the plasticity of his language manifests itself when comparing the book to a painting. Departing from four basic elements in a pictorial composition – frame, lines, colour and surface –, we have performed a homological and analogical analysis of António’s textual weaving. It was of great interest to us to understand the new meaning possibilities which the fusion between both arts may offer and add some contribute to the critical discussions around the topic, bearing in mind Lobo Antunes’ narrative. Therefore, it was necessary to revisit the first lines of thought about interart relationship, as well as understanding its current configurations. Our analysis is based on the theoretical writings of thinkers who work (on) the frontier between both languages, such as Anne-Marie Christin, Julio Plaza, Márcia Arbex and George Didi-Huberman. We aim at clarifying the fact that more than reading a text or looking at an image, we can look at a text to learn how to read its structure, as we can read an image when we look at its architecture. The homological and analogical exercise proposed based on a structural and functional approximation of two artistic universes called our attention to the existence of important aspects, which are beyond what a narrative may present in its theme. This way, it was offered to us a new key to read not only António’s text, but literature in general. The research has shown, at last, that (re)integration of two artistic areas makes it possible not only to semantically enrich artistic objects, but also and foremost to intensify the interpretive capacity of those who receive them aesthetically.
- ItemLa influencia del blues y el jazz en tres autoras afro-estadounidenses: Toni Morrison, Alice Walker y Gayl Jones(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2014-05-27) Cobo Piñero, María Rocío; Guijarro González, Juan Ignacio; Coser, Stelamaris; Rudolphi, Maria Frias; Raidagas, David Rio; Iglesia, María Ángeles Toda; Gomes, Heloísa Toller; Almeida, Júlia Maria Costa deThis Thesis approaches blues and jazz from a multiple perspective: as literary themes, as transgressive rhythms, as sites of vindication and as symbols of the music that emerged from the cultural contact during the diaspora. We explore the influence of these musical genres in three literary works written by each of the following authors: Toni Morrison, Alice Walker and Gayl Jones. These texts, mainly published between the 1970s and the beginning of the 1980s, show the influence of the musical legacy of the female blues singers, the syncopated rhythms of jazz and the vernacular culture of US African descendants. Female black writers break with the literary tradition of connecting just male authors with blues and jazz, leading the black female literary renaissance of the 1970s. This investigation brings together black feminist criticism, literary studies, and the history of black music to establish the role of blues and jazz as a means of resistance to race, class, and gender inequalities; the latter was pointed out by the female blues singers first and by the authors analyzed in this Thesis afterwards. The connection between the social background of music and the historical time in which the literary texts are settled is highly emphasized in this study.
- ItemO discurso constituinte como determinante no uso de tópoi e argumentos retóricos na construção das epístolas de Sêneca e Paulo(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2017-09-29) Santos, Zilda Andrade Lourenço dos; Leite, Leni Ribeiro; Almeida, Júlia Maria Costa de; Silva, Gilvan Ventura da; Fortes, Fábio da Silva; Rocha, Décio Orlando Soares daThis research was elaborated from the construction of a parallel between the production of the epistles of Seneca and Paul, during the first century of our era. The constituent discourse is the determining element in the way of conducting the trajectory of the epistolary genre. Seneca is guided by the paths of philosophical discourse, while Paul supports his text based on religious discourse. As a starting point, one counts on the support of Foucault in his investigations on the writing of itself like an ingredient in the prescription of the care of itself, in the Antiquity. It is noted that epistolography plays a fundamental role in that historical moment, functioning not only as a means of communication between the sender and recipient, but a form of exposition of the subjectivity that is revealed by the acquisition of the true discourses. These discourses are manifested in the individual's way of acting, determining the discursive position occupied by the ethos in the enunciation. The assumptions of discourse analysis, with an enunciative basis, in Maingueneau's approach and other researchers, in this same line, provide theoretical support for the analyzes. In the generic scene of the enunciation occurs the construction of the discourse genre and this requires a discursive scenography that directs it in the enunciative act, revealing the ethos of the enunciator, responsible for the discourse. The epistle as genre, in the writings of Seneca and Paul, provides space for each one to develop their arguments according to the basic foundations of ancient rhetoric. Starting from the constituent discourses, philosophical and religious, these authors resort to certain topoi, commonplace, and rhetorical arguments that are developed in the construction of their epistles. At the frontiers of philosophical, literary and religious discourses are the influences of Hellenistic culture that contributes to the approximation of these constituent discourses, exerting an effect of intercrossing, causing the interdiscourse phenomenon. Thus, the discursive positions of Seneca and Paul sometimes come closer together and sometimes departing, in view of the constituent discourses that direct them.
- ItemRaízes do Brasil e Macunaíma: narrativas e ressonâncias em torno da identidade nacional(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2016-09-06) Telis, Régis Frances; Almeida, Júlia Maria Costa de; Amaral, Sérgio da Fonseca; Salgueiro, Wilberth Claython Ferreira; Lima, André Luiz Dias; Freire, Pedro AntônioThis work is about the concept of cordiality developed by Sérgio Buarque de Holanda in Raízes do Brasil, comparing it with Mario de Andrade’s Macunaíma. In order to achieve it, we must consider the period when such works were produced; they were both written during a context where possible Brazilian identities representations were being searched, in the 1920s and 1930s, under the perspective of Modernism. The cordiality, such as expressed by Sérgio Buarque de Holanda, is a characteristic of our social formation, which was contrary to ritualism and aimed the affectivity. Such characteristic was not synonymous of “kindness”, but it meant only that the national character opposed itself the most from the modern rationality, preferring the actions from the heart. The analysis of our formation by Sérgio Buarque de Holanda privilege the psychosocial aspects and also highlights the personalism, patrimonialism, moral aversion to work, lack of hierarchy sense and social cohesion, besides the lack of ethnic sense. This perception can be related to the work of Mário de Andrade, where an emotional based ethics is valued by the main character. He is characterized by having an adventurous spirit, also by being careless, luxurious and personalist. Regarding this perspective, the studied authors consider our nationality in a formation process, creating a representation of what would better correspond to a Brazilian national identity. Authors such as Benedict Anderson, Homi Bhabha, Stuart Hall and Silviano Santiago, present a perspective that approaches those literary and historiographical narratives as ways to narrate the action, tensioned in between the rural and the urban, the ancient and the modern, the homogeneity and the difference.
