- ItemA "crise" do café e a ideologia desenvolvimentista no Espírito Santo(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2010-09-27) Daré, Raquel; Scarim, Paulo Cesar; Campos Júnior, Carlos Teixeira deThis work investigates the process of construction and circulation of the coffee “crisis” idea in the Espírito Santo state, Brazil, in the 1960s, looking for comprehension of how this idea got power and legitimacy, being reported until the present day. It starts with the understanding that the idea of "crisis" is part of a larger ideological construction, which sought to insert the developmental ideas in the Espírito Santo state. Thus, it first looks for identify and analyze the political articulations, the formulated instruments and the documents and studies produced in the 1960s which sought to insert the developmentalist ideology in the Espírito Santo state. It was seen that besides the political articulations and formulated instruments several ideas were produced during this period as a strategy to insert the developmentalist ideology in the Espírito Santo state. The strongest of these ideas was that the Espírito Santo state was in "crisis" and agriculture based in small familiar rural properties was the cause of this “crisis”. The small familiar rural properties were also identified as the cause of state’s "backwardness" and Espírito Santo was located at the periphery of national development. The "diversification" of the productive structure has been appointed as the solution for the "crisis". Then, it was analyzed academic papers written at that time and later, looking for the understanding of how the idea of "crisis" was inserted in the academic debate. It was found that the authors of these academic researches used as main references the studies and documents produced at that time. So their papers use the angle of the official discourse and just reinforce this discourse, expanding the political debate for the academic debate. As it was inserted in the academic debate, through theses and dissertations from major universities of Brazil, the idea of the "crisis" got legitimacy, still being repeated in many interpretations of the Espírito Santo state. Finally, it was done a historical overview of the Espírito Santo agrarian space, contrasting it with the ideas contained in the documents and studies analyzed. It tries to show evidences of the existence or not of the "crisis" in the Espírito Santo coffee production structure during the 1960s. Following it was presented an interpretation of the "crisis" idea, pointing out the elements that led to its construction.
- ItemEspaços pluriativos da agricultura familiar em Domingos Martins-ES(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2015-07-09) Guaitolini, Renata Nunes; Scarim, Paulo Cesar; Queiroz do Ó Filho, Antonio Carlos; Ghizelini, André Augusto MichelatoThe pluriactive spaces of family farming are characterized as farms belonging to farmers which are developed both in agricultural activities and non-agricultural activities, sometimes encouraged by public policies. For better understanding of these spaces and the relevant aspects of your training, such as cultural, spatial, economic and political, was sought through a case study to understand the specifics that led to the formation of pluriactive spaces of family farming in Domingos Martins (ES) - the choice of this city is due both the importance and the amount of existing establishments of family farming in its territory, in addition to the growth of non-agricultural activities within the farms, especially activities related to agroturism. We realize - through the analysis of establishments belonging to the Rural's Circuits tourism of Domingos Martins - the relationship between pluriactive spaces of family farming and rural tourism, agro-tourism and / or ecotourism. Therefore, we identified tourism as a catalyst for public policy and understand that through him the family farms are built and / or processed to meet a tourist demand, which manifests from the introduction of pluriactive practices within those spaces.
- ItemO Programa Nacional de Alimentação Escolar (PNAE) no Espírito Santo : uma análise geográfica(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2015-11-20) Alves, Luiza Santos; Scarim, Paulo Cesar; Azevedo, Elaine de; Girardi, GiseleThis research is based on the dialogue between Geography and school feeding, considering the publication of the Article14 of Law 11.947 / 2009, in public schools of the state of Espirito Santo. In order to understand the complexity of this specific type of feeding, starting from the production of food until it reaches the table of students at lunchtime, a path for this process was created. This path runs through the study of nutrition from the perspective of Geography; Josué de Castro and his importance in elaborating public policies to fight hunger in Brazil, and the history of these policies; topics on family farming in Espírito Santo, through the conceptual discussion of the term; Nutritional Assurance in Brazil; and the Law 11.947 of June 16, 2009. The Brazilian School Nutrition Program is currently one of the world's largest programs within this topic, and its origin dates from the 1940s; which means that Brazil has been dealing with this subject for a fairly amount of time. And during this time, in 2009, the law upon which this work is based on was approved. The Article 14 of Law 11.947 / 2009 predicts that at least 30% of the funds intended for purchasing food for schools should go towards family farming. The Law is implemented by the Secretary of State for Education in 2011, and this work is based on the Public Call 001/2012 to spatialize school feeding in public schools of Espírito Santo. For this reason, from the concept of the space itself proposed by Milton Santos, maps of requested food and production were made, including data such as the number of students attended that year, and schools. Reports of food production related to land structure of the State were also included in order to show the influence of the most urbanized areas with food production.
