- ItemA biblioteca escolar no processo de ensino-aprendizagem: estudo de caso da rede de ensino do município de Vila Velha, Espírito Santo(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2023-03-27) Rodrigues, Patrícia Nogueira; Moreira, Nilcéa Elias Rodrigues; Pereira, Gleice; Mata, Marta Leandro da; Silva, Eduardo Valadares daAccess to information in a planned and organized manner enables individuals to have more autonomy and the criticality they need to search, select, and use information throughout their lives. Therefore, it is essential that schools have a library that is managed, organized, and a place that facilitates the teaching-learning process. Given the above, this study has the general objective of analyzing the potential of school libraries in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo State, crossing data with the results of the Ideb (2019), of the 5th years of elementary school I, to investigate whether the library and its respective services and activities offered by librarians have a relationship with the score of the subject of Portuguese Language of the curriculum component that relates to the score obtained by the school. In this sense the specific objectives are: describe the activities that are developed to enhance reading, writing and interpretation of texts that are necessary for the subject of Portuguese Language; present the collaborative work of the librarian with the teacher; point out the role of the librarian as a mediator in the teaching-learning process; demonstrate the impacts of the use of the library, in a planned way, in the Ideb results. The research methodology adopted was exploratory and documental, the analysis of the results was carried out with a qualitative and quantitative approach and the case study of the library network of the Vila Velha municipal government. A bibliographic survey was carried out in the Reference Database of Journal Articles in Information Science (BRAPCI) and in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), books, official documents and norms in education and librarianship. As for the field research, a Google Forms questionnaire was used as a data collection instrument. For data analysis, Bardin's content analysis method was used. The results indicate that the library has relevance in the teaching-learning process, however, for the use of the library to make sense and bring learning, the collaborative work of the librarian with the teacher should be planned, developing activities and projects that contribute to enhance what was learned in the classroom, favoring the Ideb results.

This study has the general objective of analyzing the contribution of the school library in the context of early childhood education and for learning throughout the student's life. As for the specific objectives, it proposes: Survey scientific literature on the research themes represented by the analysis categories: “Information Science and Education” and “Information, library and early childhood education”; Knowing the historicity of the school library in Brazil and the importance of librarians working in them, together with their potential for the formation of citizens in childhood; Identify the Public Teaching Institutions of Early Childhood Education in which there are libraries located in the Metropolitan Region of Greater Vitória (RMGV); and To analyze, in the light of the legislation, the pedagogical processes of teaching and learning of school institutions that can contribute to early childhood education. This qualitative research is classified as exploratory in terms of objectives, and in terms of procedures it is constituted as “bibliographic and documental”. For this, theoretical works by Information Science and Education researchers such as Aida Varela and Paulo Freire were consulted, as well as searches were carried out in the following databases: Google Scholar, References of Journal Articles in Information Science (BRAPCI) and the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD – IBICT), as well as we consulted books and obtained directive educational documents such as: PNE, BNCC, DCNEI, LDB and IFLA. Although the BNCC's early childhood education document and the DCNEIs do not provide for the existence or use of spaces such as BE in early childhood education institutions, in everyday practice it is extremely possible to develop plans for pedagogical activities involving the use of resources relevant to this space and, mainly, that they contemplate the requirements related to the fields of experiences destined to early childhood education. We were also able to observe the relevance of normative legislation such as the BNCC and the DCNEIs for the teaching and learning process of children enrolled in early childhood education, as well as for the curricular content to be covered in this teaching stage. Access to literary materials, as well as their access to suitable environments to access them, together with the mediation of a professional librarian, is, and always will be, of great value for better training throughout life, as well as in practice. citizenship of children who attend school libraries in kindergarten, but this possibility seems somewhat distant to us.

The current moment of proliferation of desinformation demands information and reading skills to distinguish between coherent and fallacious information, amidst the diversity of information content available. At this juncture, the education of children and adolescents to use information represents great social relevance, contributing to the formation of critical subjects in the processes of searching, evaluating and using information, since these subjects are producers and consumers of information in the mediatized society. Inserted in a time of transformation due to the ease of searching and retrieving information in contemporary society, the school needs to commit to training critical subjects with skills to appropriate information in physical and digital environments, which places the school library as a face-to-face space that is potentially affected by new technologies, requiring critical and ethical informational practices, which can act on the development of the skills of members of the school community. Therefore, this research had the general objective of investigating the contribution of the school library in the formation of critical subjects in contemporary society, through practices that contribute to the improvement of information skills aimed at combating desinformation. To this end, participatory and bibliographical research procedures were adopted in the context of a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive study regarding the objectives. Data collection took place through survey and analysis of literature concerning the topic and application of questionnaires involving teachers and students from a municipal elementary school in the Municipality of Vila Velha in the State of Espírito Santo. The questionnaires were based on international standards for the development of information skills (IFLA/UNESCO, 2007), and also in literature in the area of Information Science. With the results, the strategic potential of the school library in developing information skills for the training of critical readers is evident. The study demonstrates that the school library has assumed its pedagogical function within the school, and, through educational actions and literary practices, has been contributing to the development of information skills in elementary education, improving skills, knowledge and attitudes in the field of information and of critical reading. However, we draw attention to the need for specific actions aimed at improving and/or developing information knowledge and skills to combat disinformation, with the interrelated development of information skills (Information Competence, Reading Competence, Digital Competence, Infocommunication Competence and Infomedia Competence) providing students with the opportunity to enjoy the information environment with reliability, enabling digital natives to search for relevant content in hybrid environments, learning to evaluate and ethically use the information
