This study has the general objective of analyzing the contribution of the school library in the context of early childhood education and for learning throughout the student's life. As for the specific objectives, it proposes: Survey scientific literature on the research themes represented by the analysis categories: “Information Science and Education” and “Information, library and early childhood education”; Knowing the historicity of the school library in Brazil and the importance of librarians working in them, together with their potential for the formation of citizens in childhood; Identify the Public Teaching Institutions of Early Childhood Education in which there are libraries located in the Metropolitan Region of Greater Vitória (RMGV); and To analyze, in the light of the legislation, the pedagogical processes of teaching and learning of school institutions that can contribute to early childhood education. This qualitative research is classified as exploratory in terms of objectives, and in terms of procedures it is constituted as “bibliographic and documental”. For this, theoretical works by Information Science and Education researchers such as Aida Varela and Paulo Freire were consulted, as well as searches were carried out in the following databases: Google Scholar, References of Journal Articles in Information Science (BRAPCI) and the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD – IBICT), as well as we consulted books and obtained directive educational documents such as: PNE, BNCC, DCNEI, LDB and IFLA. Although the BNCC's early childhood education document and the DCNEIs do not provide for the existence or use of spaces such as BE in early childhood education institutions, in everyday practice it is extremely possible to develop plans for pedagogical activities involving the use of resources relevant to this space and, mainly, that they contemplate the requirements related to the fields of experiences destined to early childhood education. We were also able to observe the relevance of normative legislation such as the BNCC and the DCNEIs for the teaching and learning process of children enrolled in early childhood education, as well as for the curricular content to be covered in this teaching stage. Access to literary materials, as well as their access to suitable environments to access them, together with the mediation of a professional librarian, is, and always will be, of great value for better training throughout life, as well as in practice. citizenship of children who attend school libraries in kindergarten, but this possibility seems somewhat distant to us.

The impact of neoliberal narrative and information and communication technologies on public policies for libraries in the scope of municipal governments in the State of Espírito Santo is analyzed. In this way, it is intended to verify how the neoliberal narrative focuses on the State and operates towards the emptying of municipal public libraries as spaces for promoting a society of rights. An analytical-critical documentary research is undertaken through which it seeks to analyze data relating to the public budget and through these instruments, it seeks to assess the budget for the promotion of culture in the selected municipalities and, if the resources are being used. to ensure the proper functioning of municipal public libraries. The objective is to unveil how the production of invisibility of BPMs in the State of Espírito Santo is constituted, in the context of contemporary neoliberal capitalist society, through the precariousness of this public service. By proposing to demonstrate the insufficiency of resources allocated to municipal public libraries, we intend not only to show that there is a precariousness project that makes this institution unfeasible, but also to defend that municipal public libraries are information mediating institutions with the capacity to establish cross-cutting dialogues and interactions. multidisciplinary with society to promote an informational path that provides an ethical relationship with a critical emancipatory function and through the mediation of information carried out by the librarian, guided by the communicative action, in a proposal of municipal public libraries as public spheres in the Habermasian perspective.

It can be considered a support for memory, since through it we refer to facts that occurred in distant times. Over time, the photographic technique underwent modifications until it reached the current forms, which are capable of providing us with instant images in large quantities. This favored its use both on a personal and institutional level and we photograph everything we want to record within our daily context. At the institutional level, the contextualization of the photographic image as an archival document ratifies its value as evidence of institutional activities. That's why many institutions adopt photography as a way to demonstrate their actions. What, on the one hand, was an evolution also brought some embarrassment, as it is necessary to deal with this large amount of images produced daily. The management of these photographic collections is of paramount importance for institutions. It was around the 1970s that institutions realized that for their development it was necessary to preserve their memory. Therefore, contextualizing, organizing, preserving, making accessible and disseminating institutional photographic collections is important as a means of preserving the memory and history of institutions. This study aimed to investigate the process of production, receipt and constitution of photographic collections of the Instituto Federal do Espírito Santos (Ifes), Cachoeiro de Itapemirim campus, for the purpose of preserving its institutional memory, using case studies that, through From a questionnaire sent by email to the sectors, it identified those where the photographic collections are located, diagnosed the management procedures adopted and also the conditions for safeguarding and preservation, as well as verifying how the forms of access to these collections are carried out. From this knowledge, it was possible to suggest a management methodology that includes the production, receipt, organization, treatment, preservation and access to the collections and that is able to contribute to the preservation of the campus memory by maintaining the authenticity of the information.
- ItemAs dimensões da competência em informação no contexto escolar de uma comunidade tradicional pomerana do Espírito Santo: um estudo de caso realizado com alunos dos 8º e 9º anos(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2024-04-30) Nascimento, Ariane Callott; Mata, Marta Leandro da; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8371-4943; Moraes, Margarete Farias de; Cesarin, Helen de Castro SilvaWe live in a country with a vast cultural diversity, in which, more often than not, culturally differentiated groups are social minorities. These groups are not always able to enjoy their rights in society, such as the right to access information, which can hinder the full exercise of citizenship. It is believed that developing information literacy is one of the ways to promote the empowerment of culturally differentiated groups, helping them to exercise their rights and duties in the community in which they live. This study specifically investigates a traditional Pomeranian community in the interior of the state of Espírito Santo. The main objective of the research was to outline a framework that aims to provide teachers with guidelines for designing pedagogical strategies that foster the development of information literacy within the scope of the Pomeranian Language curriculum component of middle school, based on the ACRL (2016; 2023). Specifically, the aim was to a) Diagnose the context of the insertion of the Pomeranian Language curriculum component in middle school at the Frederico Boldt school by means of an interview with the school's principal and pedagogical coordinator; b) Identify the theoretical-methodological perspectives adopted by the teachers in conducting the Pomeranian Language curriculum component, with a view to identifying their correlation with the dimensions of information literacy; c) To check whether the Pomeranian language curriculum component in middle school includes the elements of the dimensions of information literacy; d) To apply activities for the development of skills related to the dimensions of information literacy in the sphere of the Pomeranian language curriculum component. This is an exploratory case study. The data was assessed qualitatively using the data triangulation technique and Bardin's content analysis. From the analysis of the results, it was possible to understand the context of the implementation and execution of the Pomeranian Language curriculum component; it was found that the dimensions of information literacy are reflected in a very timid way, both in the theoretical-methodological approaches adopted by the Pomeranian Language teacher and in the curriculum and teaching plans of the component; and it was considered that the activity carried out with the 8th and 9th grade students managed to contribute to learning in the subject and to the development of information literacy skills. Finally, the results of the research made it possible to draw up a framework, the purpose of which is to provide guidance for teachers in developing pedagogical strategies that foster the development of information literacy within the scope of the Pomeranian Language curriculum component in middle school.

Based on this finding, the research is motivated to understand the challenges imposed on the public administration in publishing data in line with the open movement from the perspective of data portals. The objective of this research was to propose a governance model aimed at the quality of data published in a web environment, with a focus on making government informational resources available with scope, consistency, efficiency, and transparency. The methodology was the first result of the research, being presented as a scientific instrument divided into three stages. In the first stage, a bibliographical and documentary research was carried out, showing the historical background of the data opening movement, together with a current panorama of initiatives and stages of evolution, which led to the conduction of a pre-test in open data portals in the US, UK, Brazil, and Ireland, achieving as a result the definition of challenges for the opening of quality government data. Subsequently, these challenges served as input for defining the fundamental analytical dimensions to the proposition of the governance model. In the second stage, the maturity diagnosis for open data portals was exposed, also presenting the definition of the maturity levels that were used in the research. The diagnosis was validated on the same portals as the pre-test, with the final grades being presented and discussed. The validation results indicated that openness initiatives lack broader and more effective data policies, lack political commitment to put into practice formalized action plans, with little transparency in the execution of actions and insufficient social involvement in their formulation. In the third phase, the results were treated, generating the necessary inferences for the elaboration of the governance model aimed at data quality for network publication, which is based on the results obtained in the previous steps. The model will allow governments to build comprehensive and consistent data policies, mitigating publication barriers, and accordingly empowering and encouraging government technicians to publish higher quality data, benefiting the open movement and society.

- ItemDimensões da competência em informação: análise dos registros na fala.br(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2023-03-22) Pereira, Welington Batista; Mata, Marta Leandro da; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8371-4943; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8808213730426235; Engelmann, Adriana Rosecler Alcara; Moraes, Margarete Farias de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6346587909398922Currently, scholars and society as a whole experience the abundance of technologies and information, which has highlighted the importance of information literacy. This literacy refers to the ability to access, evaluate, interpret and use information effectively. Since the digital revolution, there have been significant changes in the skills required in the professional field and in social relationships. Information professionals have been leading discussions on the topic for more than five decades, emphasizing the importance of making people literate beyond reading and writing. In Brazil, researchers and information professionals have been active in information literacy studies, expressed in manifestos and declarations. The present study evaluates the dimensions of information literacy presented by Vitorino and Piantola (2011) in relation to the practice of registering requests for information, as a means of accessing information in public transparency, through the Fala.BR Platform. The research was based on a bibliographical survey and, later, on documentary research that provided raw data from requesters of information and records of requests for information made on the Fala.BR Platform, the basis for applying the comparative procedure method. The amount of these records of requests for information represents the set of elements of the research universe. With these tabulated elements, crossings and categorizations were carried out in alignments determined by the proposed objectives. The results obtained showed the importance of encouraging the promotion of information literacy and access to public information for citizenship, from the public with basic education, who least registered requests for information, to the public with higher education. The results also indicate that the absence of educational actions influenced information literacy skills and limited citizen participation, by demonstrating that applicants with higher education had a greater presence in records of information requests, as well as greater success in terms of the information provided. This may be leading many individuals to seek information from unofficial sources, controlled by hegemonic power groups, undermining the construction of critical thinking, and interfering with the real needs experienced.

The current moment of proliferation of desinformation demands information and reading skills to distinguish between coherent and fallacious information, amidst the diversity of information content available. At this juncture, the education of children and adolescents to use information represents great social relevance, contributing to the formation of critical subjects in the processes of searching, evaluating and using information, since these subjects are producers and consumers of information in the mediatized society. Inserted in a time of transformation due to the ease of searching and retrieving information in contemporary society, the school needs to commit to training critical subjects with skills to appropriate information in physical and digital environments, which places the school library as a face-to-face space that is potentially affected by new technologies, requiring critical and ethical informational practices, which can act on the development of the skills of members of the school community. Therefore, this research had the general objective of investigating the contribution of the school library in the formation of critical subjects in contemporary society, through practices that contribute to the improvement of information skills aimed at combating desinformation. To this end, participatory and bibliographical research procedures were adopted in the context of a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive study regarding the objectives. Data collection took place through survey and analysis of literature concerning the topic and application of questionnaires involving teachers and students from a municipal elementary school in the Municipality of Vila Velha in the State of Espírito Santo. The questionnaires were based on international standards for the development of information skills (IFLA/UNESCO, 2007), and also in literature in the area of Information Science. With the results, the strategic potential of the school library in developing information skills for the training of critical readers is evident. The study demonstrates that the school library has assumed its pedagogical function within the school, and, through educational actions and literary practices, has been contributing to the development of information skills in elementary education, improving skills, knowledge and attitudes in the field of information and of critical reading. However, we draw attention to the need for specific actions aimed at improving and/or developing information knowledge and skills to combat disinformation, with the interrelated development of information skills (Information Competence, Reading Competence, Digital Competence, Infocommunication Competence and Infomedia Competence) providing students with the opportunity to enjoy the information environment with reliability, enabling digital natives to search for relevant content in hybrid environments, learning to evaluate and ethically use the information
