- ItemA administração espanhola no Espírito Santo durante a monarquia dual (1580-1640)(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2017-10-04) Fernandes, Anna Karoline da Silva; Orientador1; Oliveira, Josemar Machado de; Simonato, Juliana Sabino; Manso, Maria de Deus BeitesThis is an initial survey on the exercise of positions and ways of enriching the elites of Espírito Santo captaincy. The temporal cutting corresponds to the first decades of the seventeenth century, when the main historical document analyzed was inserted: a letter from King Felipe II to the captain mor of the captaincy of Espírito Santo, on August 13, 1617, ordering an inquiry at the Customs, and the order of 29 witnesses summoned to testify. Our analysis will seek to identify the group of wealthiest individuals in the captaincy, the social origin of the individuals that composed this elite and the economic activities they practiced. In addition, we will study the taxation in the Philippine period, focusing on the activities of the Customs of Espírito Santo captaincy, the institution responsible for tax collection, control of merchandise traffic and inspection of Crown revenues, but also illegal activities, especially those involved with customs activities.
- ItemA arte vai à luta: resistência artística na Itália fascista(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2017-04-12) Teles, Beatriz Nascimento; Soares, Geraldo Antonio; Oliveira, Josemar Machado de; Fagundes, Pedro Ernesto; Angelo, Vitor Amorim deThis dissertation aims to analyze the Italian artistic antifascist resistance, shaped with the film Ossessione, directed by Luchino Visconti. The authors of the film met each other through the Cinema magazine, where all worked between the late 1930’s and early 1940’s, temporal cut that we choose in this work. This period of time was chosen for two reasons. Firstly, because in this period the fascist regime was involved in a serious of imperialist wars, such as the Ethiopian war and the Second World War. Because of that, the regime tried to increase its control over media and art, using them to make propaganda and to manipulate the public opinion in order to mobilize it to war. The second reason concerns the relatively high freedom of speech that the Cinema’s magazine staff achieved in this period, although Vittorio Mussolini, the Duce’s sun, was the magazine director. The magazine had in its staff names such as Gianni Puccini, Giuseppe De Santis, Mario Alicata, Antonio Pietrangeli e Luchino Visconti. After several years criticizing the Italian cinema that was being produced, the group of young filmmakers created Ossessione, like a flag of an idea, as a result of their artistic and antifascist maturity. This dissertation aims to analyze the fascist censorship policies, the propaganda discourses on media, and how the group behind Ossessione used the existing means to create artistic and antifascist resistance, through the denounce of poverty, despair and the lack of options, in a society as such, controlled by an authoritarian fascist regime.

- ItemA atuação popular em Constantinopla no contexto da disputa entre Paulo e Macedônio: um estudo com base nas Histórias Eclesiásticas (337-360)(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2021-06-17) Andrade, João Pedro Rodrigues de; Silva, Gilvan Ventura da; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4868-6596; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0104906936908227; https://orcid.org/; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4670728021133033; Lima Neto, Belchior Monteiro; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4119-596X; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3242122972916358; Soares, Hariadne da Penha; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6751-8854; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5999877162586631; Silva, Erica Cristhyane Morais da; https://orcid.org/0000000300995848; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3902843175540175In this dissertation, we investigate the popular action in the dispute that opposed Paul and Macedonius for the bishopric of the city of Constantinople between the years 337 and 360, a clash that is inserted in the so-called Arian Controversy. Beyond its theological bias, the Arian Controversy was developed during the rule of Constantius the Second as a sociopolitical dynamic, affecting the clerical realm as well as the administration of the Roman Empire. The search for establishment as orthodoxy made nicenes and arians compete for the ordination of bishops that represented such standpoints. The popular facet of that conflict took over the streets, squares and churches of Constantinople as sites of fray not only for the theological interpretation of each group but also because of the city's materiality and quotidian. For such analysis, we rely on The Ecclesiastical History of Socrates, Sozomenus and Theodoret of Cyrus, historiographic works composed in the fifth century that retell the course of christianity since its acceptance as religio licita by Constantine until the kingdom of Theodosius II. The works, besides drawing a prospect of the relation between the Church and the roman State, characterised the popular action as integral part of the strife between arians and nicenes, describing turmoil, riots and mutiny of the townsmen against their peers or episcopal and administrative authorities. Our interpretation of such events is conducted by the concepts of space, according to Alexandre Guida Navarro and Marina Löw, city, worked by José D'Assunção Barros and Jean Paul Lacaze, identity and otherness, both under the perspectives of Kathryn Woodward and Zygmunt Bauman, mixophilia and mixfphobia, by Zygmunt Bauman, conflict, under the eyes of Gianfranco Pasquino, and, lastly, violence, upon the contributions of Hannah Arendt, Roger Dadoun and Mário Stoppino. The methodology employed in our research is based on categorial analysis, a tool that composes the content Analysis, as proposed by Laurence Bardin.
- ItemA autonomia municipal na federação brasileira : a teoria da subsidiariedade entre o constitucionalismo e as relações de poder na Constituição de 1988(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2008-05-30) Silva, Fernando Carlos Dilen da; Alves, Wania Malheiros Barbosa; Campos, Adriana Pereira; Costa, Nara Saletto da; Magalhães, José Luiz Quadros deThis dissertatoin analyze the law´s structure of brasilian´s cities beggining from the elaboration of the first republican´s constitution, inspired by the north american´s federalism and the formal inclusion from these cities as federative member. With this analyse, it´s gonna be setting these formals directives of the Constitutions from years 1891, 1934 1937, 1946 e 1967-69 with the politicals systens that by force vigorates on that periods, confirmatin, or not, this tension (and the consequences) between rights and politics. This new interpretation of those citiy´s autonomies on Constitution is gonna be fundamented on haberman´s theory about his conception of a righ being created discursivaly, and the Principle of Subsidiarity, used here as a way for better discrimination of competences between the Federation´s entity. This principle defends that the bigger entity can´t realize the interests from the lowerr entitiy when this last could realize as itself, or without help. The nacional and the regional entities must execute their political public acting subsidiary, coordenating or helping the local entities. It gonna be analysed also the registries from the Nacional Constituition on Brazil during from 1986 untill 1988, influenciated by the municipalism and from the historical context for a bigger political descentralization. The meaning is otimizate the local autonomies that, defined by the Constitution of 1988 as legitimation of a bigger local Power, can stay near from the comunities of popular particiipations. By this way, it could be possible a better adoption from these deliberative discursive procedures like seminaries and public consultants, alredy realized on some brasilian´s cities. Concluding it gonna be made some criticals about the configuration of the Brazil´s federalism, priorizating the action of the cities on creation and realization from the publics politicals localized.
- ItemA carnavalização do século XVI: uma análise do riso em François Rabelais(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2023-12-15) Sacramento, Jefferson Nery; Oliveira, Josemar Machado de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0226660237269654; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4489-5734; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0175068911136143; Bassani, Sandra Mara Mendes da Silva; Bentivoglio, Julio Cesar; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4740582014272318This study presents a critical analysis of the historical and anthropological phenomenon of laughter in two works, Pantagruel (1532) and Gargantua (1534), written by the celebrated literary figure of popular culture, François Rabelais (1483?-1553). Rabelais became known as a writer for his entertaining style in French Literature History in the sixteenth century, a period marked by constant attacks on ideas in the historical context of the European Renaissance. By revisiting the context of laughter, this study explains the importance of Rabelais carnivalesque literature and also demonstrates how the author used humorous elements in his fiction to comment on society, politics, religion, and culture of the historical context in which he lived. As a result, this investigation contributes to a more current historical reflection on the relationship between laughter and humanity, with Rabelais books as a source.
- ItemA colônia de Santa Isabel e seus imigrantes (1847-1889)(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2010-08-05) Raasch, Silas; Soares, Geraldo Antonio; Campos, Adriana Pereira; Costa, Nara Saletto da; Rostoldo, Jadir PeçanhaThis present Dissertation - The Colony of Santa Isabel and its immigrants – intend to discuss the installation and aspects of life of Teutons immigrants in the colony of Santa Isabel, the first founded in the Espírito Santo, in the period between 1847 and 1889. To this end, we compare information found in the reports of the President of the Province, reports of the consuls of foreign countries, documents relating to the administration of the colony, records of marriages and criminal‘s process. The research itself has the intention to understand how foreigners, and their descendants, (re)build their existences in a land is completely different from what they were accustomed. We also try to understand, as some spaces of sociability were marked by differences of the group that settled there. Under the name of settler homogenizing (immigrant), or more specifically German settler, who remained strong religious differences reflected in various aspects of life such persons, including territorial, marking the trace of the location as "territory" of Catholics and Protestants. We also observe that the principle of religious tolerance has guided the actions of officers in the Province and the Empire, probably given the economic importance credited for the development of immigration. That means more than installing a Teuta‘s Colony, Santa Isabel is the cultural dynamic image of the "Germans" in the Espírito Santo.
- ItemA colônia imaginada : Anchieta e as metamorfoses do imaginário medieval na América portuguesa (1534-1597)(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2004-12-15) Alvim, Davis Moreira; Costa, Ricardo da; Santos, Estilaque Ferreira dos; Silva, Gilvan Ventura da; Tavares, Célia Cristina da SilvaThe research presented hereinafter deals with Jesuit priest Jose de Anchieta"s (1534-1597) imaginary, by analyzing their medieval roots, as well as their metamorphoses in Portuguese America. Anchieta made use of medieval beastiaries, the demonology; directed earthly politics towards the spiritual world; believed he could count on heavenly support by means of hierophanies and chastisements; proclaimed the so-called fair war in God"s name for the conversion of the heathen; provided several people with a good death; wished for himself and called others to adhere to the ideal of martyrdom; defended the governor’s subordination to God and founded government authority on the power directly granted by the Deity. I have used as documentation some letters written by the Jesuit priest himself, comprising the period from 1554 to 1594, and the epic poem De Gestis Mendi de Saa, probably written within the period from 1560 to 1562 and published in Portugal by the first time in 1563. The main themes approached by the research were: the indian, the sacred, death, war, and tomism. Such themes have been set apart in an arbitrarian and didactic way during the explanation, but they surely intermingle and provide each other with sense, since Anchietan thought, as medieval thought likewise, would see no clear boundary between the purposes of politics and those of religion; would approach and deal with the worldly and the spiritual, by subordinating the former to the latter; would live and act on behalf of a sole, omnipresent, militarized God; and after all, would direct war, the government and the instant of death towards God.
- ItemA construção da imagem de Otávio, Cleópatra e Marco Antônio entre moedas e poemas (44 a 27 a.C.)(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2014-04-14) Silva, Camilla Ferreira Paulino da; Silva, Gilvan Ventura da; Leite, Leni Ribeiro; Feldman, Sergio Alberto; Gonçalves, Ana Teresa MarquesThis work originated from a study on how Octavian, before obtaining the title of Augustus, in 27 b.C., reframed his image and became the first emperor of Rome. This study also dealt with how Octavian built a stigmatized image of Cleopatra and Mark Antony, his rivals during the final period of the civil war. Investigating the period that goes from 44 (assassination of Julius Caesar) to 27 b.C. (which historiography conventionally marks as the beginning of the Principate), we analyzed Octavius’ effort to legitimize himself as an ideal Roman, follower and rescuer of the ancient traditions, through the use of imagetic representation that praises Octavian while stigmatizes the Egyptian queen and Antony. Accordingly, we directed our gaze to the poems of Quintus Horatius Flaccus, which allowed us to associate the images he built with those Octavian tried to convey publicly. To recover the official image that Octavian strived to establish, we also investigated a corpus of coins that references himself as adopted son of Julius Caesar, among other glorious attributes. We also investigated a set of coins in which Cleopatra and Mark Antony are depicted, trying to reconstruct the representation that they intended for themselves, presenting a different image from the one that Octavius and his supporters built for the couple. The theoretical tools we used in this research come from the concepts of representation, by Roger Chartier, and symbolic power, by Pierre Bourdieu, and also some discussion about image and its use for the consolidation of authorities by Gian Paolo Caprettini. The methodology used was Laurence Bardin's content analysis.
- ItemA construção da imagem do converso: Castela e Aragão (séculos XIV-XV)(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2009-08-13) Follador, Kellen Jacobsen; Feldman, Sergio Alberto; Silva, Leila Rodrigues da; Silva, Gilvan Ventura daThis dissertation aims to understand the creation of the image of the anointed, i.e. the one converted Christian, based on the point of view of the old-Christian ones in Castile and Aragon in the XIV and XV centuries. During all the Middle Age Jews had been considered oathbreakers and an unfaithful people, whom beyond were guilty for Deicide brought also several diseases to the Christians. All the anti-Judaism that existed among Christians has been made into political myths that represented the imaginary of the Christianity in relation to Jews. For many times this anti-Judaism arose and the Jewish communities were pursued and attacked, as in the Castile and Aragon kingdoms in the end of 14th century. In 1391, the attacks that had devastated the Jewish communities from both kingdoms had provoked the conversion of many Jews to the Christianity because they were obliged to choose between baptism or death. This contingent of neophytes started to be recognized as the converted ones or new Christians showing that it had a discrimination between the new Christians of Jewish ancestry and those that had been born in the Christianity, considered the ones of pure ancestry. This difference among these two Christians groups increased with the time, since the old Christians distrusted in the converted religious faith. The religious question caused conflicts that were combined to economic, social and political questions. All of these questions were joined to that imaginary and its political myths that had motivated the popular revolts against the converted, specifically the revolt in 1449, in the city of Toledo. The old Christians believed that the anointed planned to destroy them because they caused many troubles both politically, socially and economically, and also because they were considered false Christians. In this context the Sententia Statute come up and stipulated that all Jewish ancestry Christians would be considered indign to possess some positions and benefits in the city. This document brought to existence the Pureness of Blood Statutes that deprived the Christians descendant of Jews of many “honor” positions, which could not be occupied by one who was an “impure blood”. Considering this context, we believe that such differentiation based on the ancestry appeared because the old Christians saw the converted people as Jews, not as real Christians. The consequence of that was the prohibition of the converted ones to have access to specific positions and social status that belonged exclusively to the old Christians since the great period of conversions, in 1391.
- ItemA construção da imagem do Imperador Valente na obra de Sócrates Escolástico(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2009-11-04) Marques, José Renato da Silva; Feldman, Sérgio Alberto; Carvalho, Margarida Maria de; Silva, Gilvan Ventura da; Bentivoglio, Júlio CesarSocrates Scholasticus was one of the historians of the Church who lived and produced in the early fifth century AD. In his book, History of the Church, described the evolution of this institution as a chronological axis within the government of the Roman emperors. Referring to a background of creation of basilea, the sacred kingship RomanByzantine, which demanded specific attributes of the emperors, issued opinions on the performance of these. Wrote about some Emperors in a benevolent and praiseworthy way, but on others made severe criticism, as if they were not up to the job that, by divine delegation, exercised, including giving them the responsibility for natural disasters, invasions by barbarians and by attempts usurpation of the throne, from time to time ravaged the Roman Empire. With his comments helped to build a negative representation of the opponents of what he saw as orthodoxy, and to disparage the image of Valens, emperor of the eastern part of the Roman Empire between 364 and 378 A.D., since the emperor, Christian Arian sect heretic therefore, he pursued, sometimes with extreme violence, the Christian Nicene believers that prevailed as orthodox, which Socrates Scholasticus extremely supported.
- ItemA construção da nação mexicana através do indigenismo de Gonzalo Aguirre Beltrán(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2014-08-12) Gomes, Caroline Faria; Gil, Antonio Carlos Amador; Barbosa, Carlos Alberto Sampaio; Santos, Fabio Muruci dosThe indigenous population was seen as the main obstacle to the realization of the project of construction of a homogeneous nation-State since Mexican Independence. As from the twentieth century, the Mexican State started a project of political and cultural transformation, called indigenism , which aimed to integrate the population poliétnica of Mexico. At that time, the doctor and anthropologist Gonzalo Aguirre Beltrán took on a leading role, since some of his integrationist ideas were taken as official by the Mexican State. This study sought to analyze aspects of integrationist indigenous policy, elaborated by Aguirre Beltrán, which was guided in the induction of the integration of the indigenous communities to the world breed. In this analysis, we use the concept of acculturation formulated by the author, as well as its operacionalization within such communities with the purpose of building a monoethnic nation-State. We also analyze the criticism that arose in late 1970 to the integrationist project as well as the answer of Aguirre Beltrán to such criticism and his defense of the integracionism. Finally, we observed the aspects in which the integrationist project failed and its relationship with some of the social movements that broke out in Mexico from the late 1970. In this analysis, three works by Aguirre Beltrán became fundamental: "El processo de aculturación " (1957), "Regiones de Refugio" (1967) and "Obra Polémica" (1976).
- ItemA construção de um personagem político: a trajetória de Roberto Valadão Almokdice (1970-1988)(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2018-09-10) Dias, Aline de Freitas; Oliveira, Ueber José de; Caprini, Aldieris Braz Amorim; Fagundes, Pedro Ernesto; Franco, Sebastião PimentelThe research deals with the construction of the political figure Roberto Valadão Almokdice, who had his trajectory forged in the context of the Civil-Military Regime in Brazil (1964-1985). In the 1960s, Valadão entered political discussions through the student movement, constituting himself as a leader in the Student House in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim-ES, and later became part of the National Democratic Movement (MDB). With the civil-military coup in 1964, many politicians lost their mandates, while others had to adjust to the new rules imposed by the military governments, so as not to lose their career in public life. The political formation of Valadão was forged combative, critical to the authoritarian sphere imposed to the country. This political figure had no tradition or party-political positions prior to the year 1968, a year that joined the opposition party, throughout the 1970s and 1980s military governments invested in repressive apparatus, promoting censorship and imposing mechanisms for demobilization of oppositions. During this period, the bipartisan system, composed of the MDB and the party of support to the civil-military regime, the Arena, was in force in Brazil. In a scenario marked by censorship, the opposition competed unfairly with the Arena, which had much more space in the national media, especially with spaces in newspapers of great circulation, even because theyreceived more political and financial support from national and regional elites. Despite this, the opposition found strategies to mobilize public opinion and build an electorate capable of ensuring the presence of opponents in government. It was in this scenario that Roberto Valadão was a political figure of great expression in the municipality of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim and in the State of Espírito Santo, especially between the 1970s and 1980s, when he participated intensely in the electoral disputes, standing out in the legislative action and as mayor of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, in addition to having adopted a discourse to defend democracy and the social interests of the popular masses. This speech extended after his participation in the Party of the Brazilian Democratic Movement (PMDB), a party that since 2017 has retaken the MDB, in which he is affiliated until the present day, faithfully
- ItemA controvérsia em torno dos escritos de Maimônides: o fortalecimento do discurso identitário judaico no Mishné Torá (1180-1204)(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2013-06-26) Rosado, Layli Oliveira; Feldman, Sérgio Alberto; Sancovsky, Renata Rozental; Silva, Gilvan Ventura daMaimonides was a twelfth-century rabbi, author of the Mishneh Torah, the Guide for the Perplexed and other writings, wich caused great controversy within the medieval Jewish community. The hostility on the writings of Maimonides became known as "maimonidean controversy", and had three important moments: in 1180; from 1230 to 1232; and from 1300 to 1306. This study is part of the first stage of this controversy, wich begins in 1180 and extends until the death of Maimonides, in 1204. This stage ocurred in the East and was a political and religious conflict. To support our analysis, we will use the Mishneh Torah, particularly the Book of Wisdom, and some of the author"s personal correspondences. We believe that Maimonides produced his Talmudic code in order to guide, or enlarge, the teachings of the Jewish doctrine in his time. A central focus of this paper is a discourse analysis of Maimonides in the Book of Wisdom, written under the cultural environment of the Muslim world, in order to understand it as an attempt to strengthening the medieval Jewish identity based on a rational systematization of Talmudic tradition.
- ItemA corte portuguesa e o escravismo no Brasil sob o olhar de Debret(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2007-12-11) Zanin, Larissa Fabricio; Soares, Geraldo Antônio; Ferreira, Estilaque; Corassa, Maria Auxiliadora de Carvalho; Vellasco, Ivan de AndradeThe image is a source of research that brings in its structures valuable elements to the understanding of the historical period that presents. Understanding the nature immersed in the historical nature engravings produced by French artist Jean Baptiste Debret, in the period that remained in Brazil, which have the Portuguese court and black people on the streets of Rio de Janeiro in the first half of the nineteenth century is the main objective of this study that uses images as primary source of analysis of the period searched. The period marked by major political and socio-cultural transformations produced by the transfer of the Portuguese court for Brazil enabling the French artist a context rich of representations to the society of Rio. Invited to compose the Mission French Artist, Debret arrives in Brazil under the title of painter of historical with the task of preparing a visual history of the court in Brazil and is in the streets of the city of Rio that he finds a favorable environment for the representation of the society which forms itself from the transfer of the royal family. Identifying the view of the artist as narrator of events, through the reading of images, intended to ensure the production of Debret recognition as the subject of communication and significance in itself that contains elements historiográficos of Brazil in the first decades of the nineteenth century.
- ItemA criação do inquérito policial: Estado e polícia no Espírito Santo(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2007-12-11) Almeida, Paulo Vinicius de; Campos, Adriana Pereira; Soares, Geraldo Antonio; Lima Neto, Francisco VieiraTo present Dissertation it discusses the institution of the Brazilian Police when, the century in the century XIX, had won outlines in response to the social dynamics of the moment of the formation of the State-nation. In synthesis, the criminal procedure, disciplined in the Code of the Criminal Process of 1832 passed for incidental reforms with the Law 261 of December 3, 1841, that it had provoked an emptying of the functions jurisdicionais of Paz's Judges, and it transferred those functions for the authorities police and magistrates. The delegation In what it concerns to the safety interns, in Espírito Santo Provincia, as in the others, that function had been under the responsibility of the military bodies of patents, only appearing in lands capixaba a Corpo Policial in definitive and gone back to the maintenance of the social order, in 1856, even so with a contingent on this side of the necessary. In compensation, the Body of Police possessed an inverse logic to the criminality index, at the same time in that he/she was devoted the contention of the disorders much more, and do not criminal processes that in the great majority. In terms of applicability of the justice, with the study of Criminal Solemnities cultivated in Victoria's District among 1865 to 1875, the attempts are confirmed of implanting the General Government's legislations advindas, in spite of the difficulty of filling out the positions of magistracies with individuals of the population. Like this, the documental body formed by the Solemnities made possible to extract the applicability so much of the Law of Reform of 1841, with the reading of processes from 1865 to 1871; as of the Law of the Alteration of the Dispositions of the Judiciary Legislation of 1871, convergent to the processes interposed among 1872 to 1875.
- ItemA crise do sistema políade : a redefinição da identidade ateniense nos discursos de Isócrates e Demóstenes (séc. V e IV a.C.)(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2009-04-16) André, Alessandra; Silva, Gilvan Ventura da; Lima, Alexandre Carneiro Cerqueira; Feldman, Sergio AlbertoAfter the War of Peloponnesus (431 - 404 B.C.), Helade enters in a deep social crisis and the stáseis become constants. This crisis will affect all the scopes of the life of poleis, placing in risk the proper system políade. At the same time a new force appears at Greek scene, fleshcolor in the figure of the king of Macedonia, Philip II, which starts to intervene directly in the complicated politics of Helade. In this context, factions with distinct positioning appear faced with the interference of Macedonia. From the cultural point of view we will have, at this moment, a redefinition of the identity Greek in the confrontation with Macedonians and Persians. For in such a way, two Athenian orators will play an important role: Isocrates and Demosthenes. Isocrates defends the ideal of the cosmopolis, lulling to sleep the dream to see the Greeks joined against the Aquemênida Empire under the command of Philip II, which it passes then to be considered Greek in opposition the Persian, qualified as barbarous. Demosthenes, in turn, reveals in favor of the maintenance of the system políade characteristic of century V B.C. For the orator, the polis was a vital politics organization, reason by which considered Filipe the true enemy to be fought in the measure where the Macedonian expansionism placed at risk the polis. Then, Demosthenes appeals to the Greeks so that they are joined in an ample coalition against the barbarous threat represented by the king of Macedonia. In view of such consideration we get in touch, in this dissertation, to analyze the fight of representations that establishes in Helade from the end of the War of Peloponnesus on basis of Isocrates and Demosthenes’ politics reflections, with special reference to the distinct figures that they are for them constructed inside of a logic of opposition between Greeks and Barbarians.
- ItemA dimensão política do pensamento de José de Alencar (1865-1868): liberalismo e escravidão nas cartas de Erasmo(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2013-07-18) Afonso, Rogério Natal; Rodrigues, Márcia Barros Ferreira; Dadalto, Maria Cristina; Nicodemo, Thiago Lima; Nascimento, Jorge Luiz doBased on the texts that make up a series of open letters addressed to José de Alencar to Emperor D. Pedro II and some political entities of state administration and written between 1865 and 1868 seek to discuss the defense of the paradox between a liberal society within a country agro-export economy sustained by slave labor. . We will take the text of a speech Alencar as ideological political elites present at the imperial court. We understand the ideological dimension of political discourse of José de Alencar in the sense of cutting Gramscian Marxist; as a world view that permeates from the common speech even more elaborate forms of philosophical discourse. From there, we will seek to understand the way of life, political representations and forms of domination present in the period from the perspective of political speech of José de Alencar, emphasizing the analysis of his defense of liberalism and slavery.
- ItemA ditadura militar no Espírito Santo: o consentimento por meio do jornal A Gazeta (1971-1975)(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2019-04-01) Santos, Davi Elias Rangel; Fagundes, Pedro Ernesto; Cordeiro, Janaína Martins; Oliveira, Ueber José de; Merlo, PatríciaThis work intends to analyze the construction of a "positive memory" about the Military Dictatorship in Espírito Santo, through the newspaper A Gazeta during the government of Arthur Carlos Gerhardt Santos (1971-1975). For this purpose we will use the theoretical perspective on consent to try to understand the participation of sectors of civil society during this authoritarian political regime. Therefore, it is important to understand the political, social and economic context of the period known as "Economic Miracle"; specifically, the economic project of conservative modernization of the then military president Emílio Gastarrazu Médici (1969-1974); and how, in his government, censorship and political propaganda were used, which dictated the tone of the Communist practices of the Dictatorship with the citizens. It is in this repressive politico-social context that we seek to capture the presence of two competing memories: that of "triumph" and that of "trauma." In order to do so, a historiographical reflection on the contribution of the official Capixaba press (the newspaper A Gazeta) was necessary in the elaboration of this "positive" memory, through documental analysis of the printed matter, of which is the object and source, simultaneously of this work, and which are available in the State Public Archive and other corresponding collections. Thus, we will use the methodological approach of the German philosopher Jurgen Habermas and his concept on the Public Sphere, where he analyzes the performance of the press in the public space, as a body of mediation between the constituted government; and the French historian Roger Chartier, who develops the concept of social representation based on the practices and representations that shape society's way of thinking and acting in a particular historical context. Therefore, the paths of consensus and consent pursued by the military dictatorship (1964-1985) in Espírito Santo, whose mechanisms have been active in the past, echo in the present time indicating the silent conflicts between memories, in view of the complex relationship of society with the dictatorial regime that need to be revealed.
