For this, we work the mathematical contents referring to Basic Statistics, as the difference between Inductive and Deductive Statistics, Data Tabulation, Position and Dispersion Measures, as well as Standardized Score. We present the visualization of these data through practical application, interpreting real data obtained by the indicators used by the Espírito Santo state government as a model – PAEBES. We also present a case study, where the practical application of statistics in the development of calculations of indicators to obtain the desired indexes was demonstrated, demonstrating the importance of the calculations together with the correct interpretation of the data obtained. The work was completed by demonstrating the applicability of indicators in entrepreneurship, as well as the use of indicators in other indicators.

Therefore, the objective of this work is to show the relevance of the study of affines functions in basic education, initially addressing their definition, the analysis of their graph, the study of their signs, their characterization and some particularities. From there, we will analyze issues of external evaluations in Espírito Santo and national, such as Learning Monitoring Assessment - AMA, Basic Education Assessment Program in Espírito Santo - PAEBES, Diagnostic Assessment (also available by the State Department of Education), Selection process at the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo - IFES, Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad for Public Schools - OBMEP and National High School Exam - ENEM, addressing some common mistakes made by students, presenting a correct solution and discussing some applications.

- ItemA matemática financeira e a inclusão bancária dos alunos do ensino médio(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2015-07-10) Pegoretti, Jordon Luiz; Bayer, Valmecir Antonio dos Santos; Rosado Filho, Moacir; Bayer, Valmecir Antonio dos SantosThis paper deals with Financial Mathematics in high school and its importance to the household finances and the conscious credit, seeking to prepare students for banking inclusion. Therefore, we proposed activities that address the matter and how it is relevant to relationships with banks and / or financial. The methodology is based on an exploratory survey of employees of a bank city of Linhares-ES, responsible for customer service, credit analysis and sale of products and services to individual and corporate person. The research aims to verify the knowledge level of the population from the point of view of banking. With the results, have been proposed activities involving loans, using credit card and overdraft, focused on conscious credit and to find solutions to the growing household debt. The final considerations underline the importance of financial education quality and how it will influence the individual's choices for life. As contributions, research leaves us lessons and challenges. Lessons when we review the survey results with the bank and as the theme have been poorly addressed in schools, reflecting the Brazilian population, and challenges us to change the course of this history and begin a process of reduction of household debt through awareness of our students

Through research, it was possible to highlight how Mathematics is inserted in some professions selected by the participants. After applying an initial questionnaire, preparing the work on Mathematics and Professions and data collection through a final questionnaire about this context, the students realized that Mathematics is in fact inserted in the professional scope, in careers that they did not imagine that its use would be important

That’s why it doesn’t make sense to continue doing everything as it was done before, the content is given by the teacher who explains the subject, gives activities to be solved and corrects. We think that in a society where techonologies are present, it is necessary to change and implement technological tools that help in the educational process. The objective of the research was to practice activities on the Khan Academy platform, seeking to work with na active methodology called gamification with the conten of matrices so that the student can devolop their ability to study autonomously and exercise the use of technologies in order to improve their knowledge in matrices in a more fun and attractive way for students. The research had as participants students from EEEFM Teófilo Paulino, located in the municipality of Domingos Martins.

Its teaching, for many years, prioritized the abstract character and the practical part was left in the background. Because of that, a great part of the students started seeing Mathematics as a disconnected science from reality and with no practical use. Fortunately, in recent years, discussions about this topic and the search for new teaching methodologies have rescued students’ interest in studying and learning Mathematics. From this perspective, Problem Solving as a methodology for teaching Mathematics has proven to be an extremely effective tool and it can be used for teaching practically all mathematical content. Specifically, in this paper, the objective is to work the ideas about Divisibility and Modular Congruence using Problem Solving as a methodology for the introduction of the referred contentes The paper was divided into three parts, the first one is the research of the theoretical framework, the second one a field approach, in which students from the 8th and 9th grade of Elementary School of a Public School took part, and the third part, the analysis and discussion of results. For the second part of the work, a list of issues with mathematical problems involving Divisibility and Congruence was applied and the students had a predetermined time to solve it. After analyzing and tabulating the results, the list was commented and solved together with the students, who had the opportunity of getting in touch with the contents that were unknown to them, in a different way. The analysis of the results revealed the importance of using Problem Solving as a teaching tool, motivating students’ learning and making them protagonists in the construction of their own knowledge.

It starts with the intuitive idea of counting, which will then be com plemented by the fundamental principle of addition and multiplication. After that, the concepts of simple, circular permutation will be presented, together with repeated ele ments and chaotic. We also address simple and complete combination, and Kaplansky’s lemmas by studying the main problems of combination. The problems proposed in the chapters were selected in order to complement the theoretical part- commonly omitted- and to demonstrate alternative resolution techniques, such as counting by inclusion exclusion and recurrence, always oriented to the pursuit of solutions that promote logical thinking and not the use of formulas

In addition to the theory, addressed in the first three chapters and addressed mainly to teachers of mathematics, there are also, in the following three chapters, exercises solved traditionally and also solved using GeoGebra software, in addition to proposed exercises along with their respective expected answers.

For the use of ludic resources as support and methodology in the teaching of Mathematics, specifically in operations with rational numbers. In the elective discipline, “Educational Games”, in the 2nd trimester of the Escola Estadual de Ensino Fundamental e Médio Alice Holzmeister, we have developed activities that arouse the interest of the students and seek to facilitate the learning of contents necessary for the development of the teaching of mathematics, such as, rational numbers and their operations. Among these resources we will have the memory games in which we work numerical expressions involving radicals, and powers with natural exponent, operations with integers; Rational track game, where we work on basic operations with rational numbers, recognition of decimal representations of rational numbers as an extension of the decimal numbering system identifying the existence of “orders” such as tenths, hundredths and thousandths, and recognizing the different representations of a rational number; Potentiation Roulette, in which we develop the concepts of powers of rational numbers with integer exponents; Fractions puzzle that relates equivalent fractions and their geometric representations, as well as, the improper fractions associating the geometric representation to the sum of the integer part with the fractional part and consequently to the mixed number. The material produced will be made available to the school’s mathematics teachers to assist in classes.

- ItemAplicação da matemática em investimentos financeiros : caderneta de poupança e títulos públicos(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2015-01-01) Ponaht, Osmar; Rosado Filho, Moacir; Bayer, Valmecir Antonio dos Santos; Fantin, SilasStarting with a brief study of percentage and some of its applications, the development of this work consists of a review of the fundamentals of financial mathematics and its applications in two kinds of investments denominated savings accounts and government bonds. In addition to the traditional simple and compound interests, associating them with arithmetic and geometric progressions, respectively, it encompasses different types of rates (proportional and equivalent, nominal and effective, variables and accumulated) including the concept of overnight rate. Based on the subjects mentioned, the work ends with an application of financial mathematics associated with investments in savings accounts and several government bonds negotiated in Direct Treasure.

Was begun from the construction of a plastic pluviometer in class, also the construction and interpretation of grafics for the distribution of rain in each month of the year in this city, through the period from January of the year 1994 to December of the year 2012. Considering that most part of the students concluding college live in the countryside of this city, the intention of this report is that the students use this information and make them spread on the farms they live and have a concise forecast about the distribution of rain throughout the months. By this way we want to teach Geometry and Statistics in a contextualizated form using these contents in local problems of Vila Pavão city Espírito Santo, so contributing to give practical meaning to these mathematical issues

Aiming an improvement in this learning, I thought about an intervention proposal which would make students environment work more pleasant. By the advent of computer and the GeoGebra Software, I tried to draw practical lessons, double or single, so that they could revise and acquire the main concepts of Analytic Geometry Plane. This work was developed in order to make the students visualize and acquire knowledge studied since Elementary and early school grades for further revision. The paper was prepared with questions to make students analyze certain properties previously chosen, discuss the results obtained from some questions, develop arguments to prove the observations obtained, and describe clearly and succinctly the relations and conditions to explain the concepts and properties studied
- ItemAplicações do Software GeoGebra ao ensino de funções(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2018-08-27) Oliveira, Marcelo Peres de; Rosado Filho, Moacir; Guimarães Filho, Florêncio FerreiraThis work consists in the presentation of a possibility for the teaching of Functions from experimental constructions using GeoGebra software to assist the construction, visualization and comprehension of graphs of some functions. We present a didactic practice that brings activities in which the students have the opportunity to elaborate the graph of the functions and make modifications, having to think what to do in each situation and perceive the regularities, thus establishing research strategies. The activities presented were based on the author's experience in working with the initial high school grades in a private school in the State of Espírito Santo. We know that it is relevant at the same time to develop a computer culture within the school. As teachers, we must be aware that due to the growing computerization of society, the presence of computers in the educational institution should be examined with a reality that no longer has to discuss, but whose real meaning needs to be built. In pursuit of obtaining more effective learning, we must be prepared to manage and make effective use of these new technologies, observing their pros and cons, and as key elements of the teaching and learning process, always strive to reach a break even. Being the computer is one of the technological instruments used in the school environment, we carry out the study relating the computer, the study of the functions and its educational process school. Through a program with "drawing in motion" features, GeoGebra, we allow the student actions such as experimenting, interpreting, visualizing, inducing, guessing, abstracting, generalizing and finally demonstrating. We conclude that the use of new technologies in the classroom is a great ally in the teaching of mathematics, provided that adequate planning is done with objectives to be achieved.

I present the content as activities to be developed with the teacher's help, the definition of natural logarithm as area under a graph and activities to explore the understanding.
- ItemAtividades colaborativas com o geogebra: uma proposta de ensino de geometria plana(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2016-12-06) Lessa, Alessandra Mathias; Valério, Domingos Sávio; Valério, Domingos Sávio; Rosado Filho, Moacir; Fantin, SilasPerformance rates of Brazilian students have not reached favorable levels in institutional evaluations to verify mathematical learning. Even though Brazil has stood out in the global setting for its development and economic growth, like South Africa, China India and Russia — countries with these characteristics, named BRICS — it has not reached results similar to most of these countries, as in PISA, for example. Therefore, besides assessing, it is important to use the results and set goals so that this picture can be changed. This study departs from the assessment carried out in the education system in the State of Espírito Santo, Brazil: the PAEBES. The result of assessment in the year 2014 will be the basis for the methodology in this study, because it comprises indications of the skills (descriptors) which students have not yet developed. The proposal comprises challenging activities involving geometry to arouse students’ curiosity and willingness to learn in a collaborative and interesting way. Since interactivity attracts youth, the Dynamic Geometry of software GeoGebra can bridge theory to practice, allowing easier visualizations in multiple representations of the object created.

The purpose of this is to contribute to the process of teaching and learning geometry in basic school. Thus, some demonstrations were elaborated so that the students of the basic education can understand the geometry beyond the school activities in the mathematics discipline, and then, the better explore their concepts and relationships with the world around them.
