- ItemAplicação de conceitos de Geometria e Estatística à construção e utilização do Pluviômetro tipo Pet(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2013-04-09) Moser, Fábio; Rosado Filho, Moacir; Abdón, Miriam Del Milagro; Guimarães Filho, Florêncio FerreiraThis report has the subject of presenting the contextualization of concepts of Geometry and Statistics for the third level college students from Vila Pavão city Espírito Santo. Was begun from the construction of a plastic pluviometer in class, also the construction and interpretation of grafics for the distribution of rain in each month of the year in this city, through the period from January of the year 1994 to December of the year 2012. Considering that most part of the students concluding college live in the countryside of this city, the intention of this report is that the students use this information and make them spread on the farms they live and have a concise forecast about the distribution of rain throughout the months. By this way we want to teach Geometry and Statistics in a contextualizated form using these contents in local problems of Vila Pavão city Espírito Santo, so contributing to give practical meaning to these mathematical issues
- ItemGeometria analítica no ensino médio: uma proposta com tratamento vetorial(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2013-04-09) Silva, Robson Vieira da; Valentim, Fábio Júlio da Silva; Simas, Fábio Luiz Borges; Ccoyllo, Rosa Elvira QuispeBased on the course program of Analytic Geometry present in the basic curriculum of the State of Esp´irito Santo public schools, we propose a vectorial approach for the subject. That’s because, with base in analyses of textbooks used in the High School, it was possible verifying the absence of vectors in the mentioned discipline, although the method applied to the Analytic Geometry facilitates your teaching and learning. Under that prism, we produced a material that brings as main differential the introduction of vectors and your applicability, demonstrated also, in exercises. In the same way, we mentioned the straight line equation and we brought some considerations concerning to vectors in the discipline of Space Analytic Geometry. In that context, it was possible to simplify the understanding of fundamental concepts and to make possible a larger transition between the Algebra and the Geometry.
- ItemAplicação do software geogebra ao ensino da geometria analítica(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2013-04-09) Guedes, Paulo Cezar Camargo; Bayer, Valmecir Antonio dos Santos; Rosado Filho, Moacir; Abdón, Miriam Del MilagroBy teaching Analytic Geometry classes for High School Senior Students, I have always noticed that most students not only did not remember the main properties of Plane Geometry, but also had great difficulty making the analogy between them and the Cartesian Plane. Aiming an improvement in this learning, I thought about an intervention proposal which would make students environment work more pleasant. By the advent of computer and the GeoGebra Software, I tried to draw practical lessons, double or single, so that they could revise and acquire the main concepts of Analytic Geometry Plane. This work was developed in order to make the students visualize and acquire knowledge studied since Elementary and early school grades for further revision. The paper was prepared with questions to make students analyze certain properties previously chosen, discuss the results obtained from some questions, develop arguments to prove the observations obtained, and describe clearly and succinctly the relations and conditions to explain the concepts and properties studied

- ItemO ensino-aprendizagem de matemática através de projetos envolvendo profissões: um estudo de caso no ensino fundamental(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2013-04-12) Pêgo, Rudnei Nunes; Rosado Filho, Moacir; Guimarães Filho, Florêncio FerreiraThis project is aimed to develop a possibility of teaching / learning to some mathematical issues and apply it through practical projects related to a profession, to increase student learning. In order to this it was done a case study with two classes of 8th grade (9th grade in the new nomenclature) of a public elementary school from Serra-ES involving the Architecture and Engineering professions, which were chosen with the classes. The contents worked were defined by the researcher, who was also the teacher of the discipline, based on their previous experience and items in which students typically encountered major difficulties, namely: Trigonometry of Rectangle Triangle and Areas of Plane Figures. The project was defined as: the construction of a school maquette and low plants of the school and the square, in scale. The students, organized in groups, were accompanied and assisted by the teacher throughout the entire project. The results were positive: the students were engaged and motivated; increased their selfesteem, decreased resistance towards Mathematics and the distance between theory and practice; encouraged the teamwork, improving the teacher-student and student-student relationships; and improved significantly students performance in evaluations compared to other classes or these same classes in other contents.
- ItemO ensino de parte da geometria do ensino fundamental: análise de dificuldades e sugestão de sequência didática(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2013-04-12) Leite, Rondineli Schulthais; Rosado Filho, Moacir; Guimarães Filho, Florêncio Ferreira; Pereira, Orlando dos SantosThis paper aims to build an effective and systematic learning of the most important geometric concepts of the ninth year of elementary school, using the software GeoGebra as an innovative tool in building a didactic sequence that contributes significantly to the understanding of the geometric content. They are: similarity of triangles, Tales theorem, metric relations in the rectangle-triangle, trigonometry and the Pythagorean theorem. It is hoped that these contents are worked harmoniously, unlike the common practice that organizes these issues on topics as if there was no connection between their concepts. We conducted an investigative research with students and teachers in order to observe the main problems students have in learning geometry in ninth grade, and check possible mistakes made in the teaching and learning process of these geometrical concepts. In possession of the search results, we started the didactic sequence construction, seeking to unclog the main obstacles observed in the leading of these contents, favoring organized learning with teacher's guidance, but constructed by the student. For this, we produced five activities in an introductory aspect, exclusively, of these issues, organized in labor routings so to lead students onto a gradual and consistent learning through manipulations performed in the software GeoGebra. The evaluation of this suggestion of didactic sequence becomes important and deserves further studies to verify how effective it is as a tool in the conducting of teaching these geometric contents.
- ItemUma abordagem da teoria de grafos no ensino médio(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2013-08-16) Mauri, Rone; Rosado Filho, Moacir; Guimarães Filho, Florêncio Ferreira; Silva, Sérgio LuizThis work shows a proposal to approach Graph Theory, which is rarely taught at public high schools, and looks for working the theme through the resolution of problems, providing opportunities to the pupil for effective participation on the building of arguments and challenging them to search for solutions, instigating the curiosity and requiring from them an attitude that lead to take decisions, favoring the emergence of creative answers and developing abilities concerning to those proposed on the Common Basic Curriculum of the state public high school. This proposal is described in two chapters, being the first one to introduce the theme on the second grade of high school, and the second one, to retake concepts already seen on the first one and introduce new concepts to the students of the third grade of high school. Both chapters are composed of problems, to introduce concepts and results as much to apply them, bringing their solutions and, in some cases, commentaries to the teachers
- ItemO ensino de geometria por meio de construções geométricas(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2013-08-23) Pimentel, Jailson; Gonçalves Junior, Etereldes; Xavier, Magda Soares; Farias, Marcelo FerreiraThe purpose of this work is to develop an alternative methodology for teaching Geometry beginning in ninth grade level, with the purpose of awakening in student motivation through mechanisms that enhance deductive logical thinking. In this sense, geometry teaching based on geometric constructions with ruler and compass will be considered relevant, as textbooks generally abandoned this geometry teaching method in ninth grade. We will also focus some elaborations using the resources of practical software Geogebra. This work will be made and developed in two stages. The first one will consist of a questionnaire, which will include a review of the contents considered prerequisites for the second part. The second and main stage of this work is formed by geometric constructions with ruler and compass, and then elaborations using the practical features of the software Geogebra. For this, we will use a simple language, detailing step by step the construction of each geometric picture. However, we will limit ourselves to plane figures. The continuity proposal of the subject reaches the constructions through flat pattern of a picture in three dimensions. In general, the discipline “Geometric Drawing” is not present in the public schools curriculum. Thus, students, particularly the ones from elementary school, believe that the measure serves only to draw circles, and it can also be used as a measuring instrument. It is hoped that this work will not only contribute to an understanding of theoretical as well as the improvement of teaching practices in geometry classes, since the contents and methodologies used here are intended, primarily, to help mathematics teachers of basic education.

We take this opportunity to discuss a little about divisibility, lcm (least common multiple) and primes. The proposal in query is formed in chapters. In each one of them there is a list of exercises. At the end of chapter 4, we added a series of additional exercises
- ItemMatemática financeira: discussão de resultados e proposta para capacitação de professores(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2014-04-03) Garcia, Solano Martinazzi; Gonçalves Júnior, Etereldes; Vieira, Evilson da Silva; Alves, Magno BrancoThis work starts from the analysis of a discursive issue of UFES’s entrance exam for freshmen in 2013, involving Financial Mathematics knowledge, in which the candidates had a low rate of right answers. To determine the possible causes for the low performance the teaching materials analysis was first, with that it was verified that the deficiencies were not of the same reasons that could cause such results to be achieved. After researching and testing it was found that mathematics teachers, were mostly not trained to teach Financial Mathematics in High School. From this finding, the focus of this work became the development of a proposal for the training the teachers in teaching Financial Mathematics at High School and also suggesting changes in textbooks, about teaching certain content (mainly simple interest ), including some topics that are not being addressed and deepening in others, introduction of the method of Arrows to the equivalence of values in time, Systems amortization payments and the use of computer programs. This work aims to contribute to the improvement in teaching Financial Mathematics besides being a support for teachers who will be able to use it as background material for their classes.

The chapters sequence exposes the basic theory, a brief argumentation about problem solving, many issues concerning prime numbers and its resolutions, and lastly, articles on prime numbers worldwide curiosities.
- ItemDificuldades na aprendizagem da matemática: um estudo com alunos do ensino médio(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2014-04-14) Loureiro, Vanilda; Bayer, Valmecir Antonio dos Santos; Fantin, Silas; Ccoyllo, Rosa Elvira QuispeThe main objective of this dissertation is to investigate the phenomenon of the difficulty that many high school students have in learning math. For that, it chooses to understand the view of those students about the problem. It discusses somewhat about the influences that the motivation can exert influence in learning. It also discusses ethnomathematics and resolution problems and about the importance that they can achieve during the students’ learning process. Opting for the qualitative research it takes refuge with a questionnaire as a method of gathering information. It points that the students understand that the problem is not just in the teaching method utilized by the teacher or in the abstract nature of mathematics itself. Thus, many of the individuals who contributed to the survey indicate a lack of basic math in elementary school and the need to memorize many formulas and rules as the main reasons for the difficulty of students to learn mathematics in school. As suggestions, the students who completed the questionnaire point mainly to the teacher’s need to change the method of teaching, as well as the use of other resources and / or exploitation of situations of everyday life. It proposes that it is necessary the realization of new studies not only in high school to understand better the problem, but also in elementary school.
- ItemTópicos de geometria plana com o software geogebra: proposta de sequências didáticas(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2014-04-14) Fiorotti, Luciana Bahiense; Bayer, Valmecir Antonio dos Santos; Fantin, Silas; Silva, Domingos Sávio Valério; Bayer, Valmecir Antonio dos SantosAccording to the reality of the schools that I have worked the teaching of plane geometry is deficient, causing students to forget certain facility settings and properties. A source that can (and should) be used is the proposal of the present dissertation: an educational software for the study of plane geometry. To be more explicit, we propose the use of the GeoGebra software, which is free, to show some topics of plane geometry. The idea is to bring the student to assimilate definitions and properties through geometric constructions, using didactic sequences in GeoGebra. These didactic sequences may be used in any term of high school, once the main goal of the project is to support students, regardless the series that they are attending. The first sequences are intended to show some features of the software and the other, geometric constructions and properties involved.
- ItemResgate da inserção das noções elementares do cálculo (em particular, das noções de limite) durante o ensino médio(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2014-04-25) Ferreira, Alexandre Maia; Gonçalves Junior, Etereldes; Conceição Junior, Duilio Tadeu da; Wrobel, Julia SchaetzleThis work is an alternative return of the issues related to Di erential and Integral Calculus approach, intuitive and constructive way, during high school. The development of this material starts with doing historical research on the evolution of the study of limit, derivative and integral, then it is a survey of data between faculty and graduate students about the impacts (advantages/disadvantages) that the transfer of redemption ideals related calculation would provide. In order to justify the proposed restoration, a mapping of the contents that require focus on intuitive notions of calculus in the main textbooks used traditionally in public and private schools capixabas was performed. It was questioned from the grade teachers, the vision of the National Curriculum Parameters (PCN), the core curriculum, the availability of training courses and speci c teaching materials for conducting such an initiative as well as the situation in which you can enter these concepts was evaluated harmlessly and commitment to teaching/learning of students. After analyzing the main issues that require the use of concepts of Calculus, in general, was set up to draft sequence with didactic activities, strategies and methodologies developed and presented in a constructive and intuitive way.
- ItemResgate do Teorema de Dandelin no estudo de cônicas com o geogebra(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2014-04-25) Monteiro, Rubens Marinho; Gonçalves Junior, Etereldes; Conceição Junior, Duilio Tadeu da; Araujo, Alancardek PereiraThe purpose of this work is to make the rescue of Dandelin‘s theorem in the study of conical. The idea is to present how Dandelin used spheres and cones to show that the curves that arise when cutting a conical surface by a plane are: ellipse, hyperbole, or parable. We will define the general equation of a conic by its eccentricity, as well as the relationship between the geometric and algebraic concept. We will do an analysis of how the book “Novo Olhar - Matem´atica” of Joamir Souza, work adopted by the state Department of Education of Esp´irito Santo for the students of the 3rd level of high school, is the approach of the conical theme. It is also reported in this work a collection of experiences and activities elaborated in the software Geogebra and Winplot that were discussed in the disciplines of MA35, MA36 and MA23 whose character is to contextualize and give applications to conical.
