Resumo
In recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of billionaires, parallel to the increase in the population living in extreme poverty. In this sense, the worsening of social disparities and the rivalries provoked by social exclusion, it is possible to notice an increase in the homeless population within brazillian me-tropolises. Considering this background, the motivation for this study arises. The central theme of the following research is the homeless population and the investi-gation of the dimensions that composes its daily life. In order to achieve it, it is employed the ethnographic research methodology of square Regina Frigeri Furno, a public space important for the urban life of Vitória city, located in Espírito Santo (ES). The main goal is to investigate the daily life of the research subjects and the relations that they have with the place Starting from the investigation locus where this study stablishes its subject and object, it goes forward to the brazillian context analysis, diving into the panorama that sets the phenomenon formation within this scenery. The investigation of the setted dimensions resulted on the identification of the agents analysis categories that composes the daily life, stablished by Milton’s Santos theory: the time, the space and the “slow men” The observations made supllied qualittive and quantitative data about the object and the subject, allowing a deeper analysis of the phenomenon. It is concluded that the homeless population within public spaces intensifies the daily life tensions, specially because of the coexistence of diferente social agents and its many realities
