dc.description.abstractThe phenomena of transgender and cisgender identities raise significant issues in contemporary Brazil. Both possess specific characteristics shaped by the country’s social norms and are embedded in an intergroup dynamic in which cisgender identity aligns with the prevailing norm, while transgender identity represents an alternative understanding of gender. This research aimed to analyze whether and how social innovation regarding transgender identity occurs in Brazil, considering social media as relevant fields of interaction. The specific objectives included: identifying events that delineate social innovation through the analysis of Instagram posts from the Ministry of Citizenship and Human Rights; identifying elements of social representation and themata in the comments on those posts; and analyzing the data through the lens of the theory of active minorities. Study 1 addressed content related to changes in social thinking about transgender identity. Study 2 analyzed the comments on the same posts, seeking representational elements, antinomies, and themata. The results highlight the emergence of alternative gender norms, represented by a consistent behavioral style among trans people. This emergence generates representational tensions, manifested in conflicting discourses among different social groups. The polarization observed in the comments suggests that the transformation of social thinking does not occur in a linear or consensual manner, but as an ongoing process that is still embryonic and marked by cognitive and affective tensions
dc.description.resumoOs fenômenos da transgeneridade e da cisgeneridade levantam questões relevantes no Brasil contemporâneo. Ambos possuem características específicas, formuladas dentro das normas sociais do país, e se inserem em uma dinâmica intergrupal em que a cisgeneridade se alinha à norma vigente, enquanto a transgeneridade representa uma norma alternativa nas compreensões de gênero. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar se e como ocorre a inovação social referente à transgeneridade no Brasil, considerando as redes sociais como campos de interação relevantes. Os objetivos específicos incluíram: identificar eventos que delineiam a inovação social, por meio da análise de postagens no Instagram do Ministério da Cidadania e dos Direitos Humanos; verificar elementos de representação social e thematas em comentários nessas postagens; e analisar os dados à luz da teoria das minorias ativas. O Estudo 1 abordou conteúdos associados à mudança no pensamento social sobre a transgeneridade. O Estudo 2 analisou os comentários das mesmas postagens, buscando elementos representacionais, antinomias e thematas. Os resultados evidenciam a emergência de normas alternativas de gênero representadas por um estilo comportamental consistente entre pessoas trans. Essa emergência gera tensões representacionais, manifestadas por discursos conflitantes entre diferentes recortes grupais. A polarização nos comentários sugere que a transformação do pensamento social não ocorre de forma linear ou consensual, mas como um processo em andamento, ainda embrionário e permeado por tensões cognitivas e afetivas
