- ItemProdução de biomassa de Eucalyptus spp. sob diferentes manejos e espaçamentos(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2011-06-29) Vieira, Eduardo Henrique de Freitas; Bauer, Maristela de Oliveira; Chichorro, José Franklim; Costa, Reginaldo Brito da; Adabb, Jupiter Israel MuroThis study aimed to evaluate the biomass production, height and DBH of eucalyptus on two management regimes: rainfed and fertigated, three genetic materials and six different spacings, in the state of Espírito Santo. The design adopted was randomized blocks, with repetition. It was observed that, in general, the major growth and productivity of biomass occurred in the regime fertigated. We also observed, higher yields in the early ages for the dense spacing, however, with increasing age, the larger distance remained more uniform and exceeded the productivity of smaller spaces. Biomass production varied depending on the genetic material, plant spacing and irrigation. The treatment using the genetic material AR4 had productivity of 60 t/ha/year at 12 months of age in the management and spacing fertigated 3x1 and 3x2 m. For the clonal materials showed major biomass production (55 t/ha/year) in the interaction of management fertigated spaced 3x2 m at 12 months old. Genetic material in 1501 produced 45 t/ha/year in the 3x1 m spacing at 12 months of age. The genetic material in 3918, and interaction management fertigated 3x1 and 3x2 m spacings, produced at 12 months of age, 45 t/ha/year. Evaluating only the 1x1 m spacing (super dense) with the seminal genetic material in dryland management, we observed the production of 55 t/ha/year, at 12 months. Considering a spacing of 1x1 and 2x1 m (extreme cases), the mortality due to competition between plants is so high that at the end of two years, the number of live plants was reduced to approximately 30%. If we consider the additional costs of drip irrigation and planting density, compared to traditional management culture (3x3 m spacing in dry), it is important to evaluate the economic viability of this type of strategy for biomass energy production
- ItemQualidade do lenho de árvores de clone de Eucalyptus grandis x E. urophylla sob estresse abiótico e o impacto na produção de celulose(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2013-02-25) Rodrigues, Brunela Pollastrelli; Vidaurre, Graziela Baptista; Oliveira, José Tarcísio da Silva; Tomazello Filho, Mário; Arantes, Marina Donária Chaves; Adabb, Jupiter Israel MuroThe elevated usage of wood from eucalyptus plantations in Brazil is explained because such genus presents good adaptation and productivity to the various edafoclimatic characteristics here existent, which are potentialized by the studies and researches on the breeding and forest management area. In spite of the advances on the breeding researches and eucalyptus management, there are still some risks that cannot be predicted at the moment of forest implantation. These risks are related to the environment factors and to the growing local, denominated abiotic stress, which may affect the wood properties that are required to produce cellulose paste. The objective of this work was to study trees in two development stages (42 and 57 months) proceeding from Southern Bahia, which grow under abiotic stress effect and to know the effect of the stress conditions upon the quality of produced wood. For the studies regarding the wood quality, it can be observed that the stress influenced the dendrometric variables negatively, directly affecting the wood volume produced by the trees. The stress also generated negative reflexes on the anatomic, chemical properties and on the pulping parameters. On the values related to density, it can be observed that the trees did not have influence of stress on the basic and apparent density of wood by X-rays to the DBH level. However, the basic density of tree wood-shavings in the 57 months of age was smaller on trees which grow under stress influence. This way, the trees proceeding from the abiotic stress presented a reduced growing, worst wood properties and pulping, and it is necessary that this one must be better distributed on the industry so that the process of cellulose production must not be prejudiced, either on the revenue or on the quality of produced cellulose
