- ItemA utilização de recursos lúdico-manipulativos nas aulas de Matemática para facilitar o aprendizado das operações com números racionais na Rede Estadual de Ensino(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2023-07-18) Freiman, Joglicia Gonoring Rodrigues; Guimarães Filho, Florêncio Ferreira; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7737-8763; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4147185115841521; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9141670452862533; Prezotti Filho, Paulo Roberto; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9332-4121; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4862283797284079; Rosado Filho, Moacir; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7617-3133; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5049304126500678The purpose of this work is to help Mathematics teachers of the State’s Public Education System from 7th grade, elementary school, to the 1 st grade, high school. For the use of ludic resources as support and methodology in the teaching of Mathematics, specifically in operations with rational numbers. In the elective discipline, “Educational Games”, in the 2nd trimester of the Escola Estadual de Ensino Fundamental e Médio Alice Holzmeister, we have developed activities that arouse the interest of the students and seek to facilitate the learning of contents necessary for the development of the teaching of mathematics, such as, rational numbers and their operations. Among these resources we will have the memory games in which we work numerical expressions involving radicals, and powers with natural exponent, operations with integers; Rational track game, where we work on basic operations with rational numbers, recognition of decimal representations of rational numbers as an extension of the decimal numbering system identifying the existence of “orders” such as tenths, hundredths and thousandths, and recognizing the different representations of a rational number; Potentiation Roulette, in which we develop the concepts of powers of rational numbers with integer exponents; Fractions puzzle that relates equivalent fractions and their geometric representations, as well as, the improper fractions associating the geometric representation to the sum of the integer part with the fractional part and consequently to the mixed number. The material produced will be made available to the school’s mathematics teachers to assist in classes.
- ItemDificuldades na aprendizagem da matemática: um estudo com alunos do ensino médio(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2014-04-14) Loureiro, Vanilda; Bayer, Valmecir Antonio dos Santos; Fantin, Silas; Ccoyllo, Rosa Elvira QuispeThe main objective of this dissertation is to investigate the phenomenon of the difficulty that many high school students have in learning math. For that, it chooses to understand the view of those students about the problem. It discusses somewhat about the influences that the motivation can exert influence in learning. It also discusses ethnomathematics and resolution problems and about the importance that they can achieve during the students’ learning process. Opting for the qualitative research it takes refuge with a questionnaire as a method of gathering information. It points that the students understand that the problem is not just in the teaching method utilized by the teacher or in the abstract nature of mathematics itself. Thus, many of the individuals who contributed to the survey indicate a lack of basic math in elementary school and the need to memorize many formulas and rules as the main reasons for the difficulty of students to learn mathematics in school. As suggestions, the students who completed the questionnaire point mainly to the teacher’s need to change the method of teaching, as well as the use of other resources and / or exploitation of situations of everyday life. It proposes that it is necessary the realization of new studies not only in high school to understand better the problem, but also in elementary school.
- ItemDiversificando o ensino de matemática com ênfase na resolução de problemas(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2016-03-24) Aguiar, Paulo Célio; Guimarães Filho, Florêncio Ferreira; 1º membro da bancaThis study begins with a brief account of my professional experience and a remark made to appropriate the statistical data of a state school, which I linked meeting. It has been found that it has a considerable rate of failure in Mathematics, and a regular performance in this discipline in external evaluations. In an attempt to identify the causes, was made an observation of lessons, interviews with students and teachers, where we realized that fit present a proposal to diversify the teaching of this discipline in order to improve student learning and hence their performance in evaluations. This discussion extends in the second chapter, which briefly questioned is the way this course has been taught in most schools. É also presented an account of a successful experience. In the third chapter, based on my vision teacher and former manager, I present an educational proposal emphasizing motivation and diversification. From the fourth chapter, problem solving takes the role of main theme of this dissertation and is seen on various aspects. First, we used the mathematics of history to understand the degree of interest of the ancient mathematicians in this theme. In then it is treated as a teaching strategy for teaching mathematics. In the final chapter, we present a series of problems solved, well chosen criterion, which explores various techniques and solving strategies. We ended by suggesting to readers, a list of problems containing some tips and answers.
- ItemO ensino de parte da geometria do ensino fundamental: análise de dificuldades e sugestão de sequência didática(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2013-04-12) Leite, Rondineli Schulthais; Rosado Filho, Moacir; Guimarães Filho, Florêncio Ferreira; Pereira, Orlando dos SantosThis paper aims to build an effective and systematic learning of the most important geometric concepts of the ninth year of elementary school, using the software GeoGebra as an innovative tool in building a didactic sequence that contributes significantly to the understanding of the geometric content. They are: similarity of triangles, Tales theorem, metric relations in the rectangle-triangle, trigonometry and the Pythagorean theorem. It is hoped that these contents are worked harmoniously, unlike the common practice that organizes these issues on topics as if there was no connection between their concepts. We conducted an investigative research with students and teachers in order to observe the main problems students have in learning geometry in ninth grade, and check possible mistakes made in the teaching and learning process of these geometrical concepts. In possession of the search results, we started the didactic sequence construction, seeking to unclog the main obstacles observed in the leading of these contents, favoring organized learning with teacher's guidance, but constructed by the student. For this, we produced five activities in an introductory aspect, exclusively, of these issues, organized in labor routings so to lead students onto a gradual and consistent learning through manipulations performed in the software GeoGebra. The evaluation of this suggestion of didactic sequence becomes important and deserves further studies to verify how effective it is as a tool in the conducting of teaching these geometric contents.
- ItemO ensino-aprendizagem de matemática através de projetos envolvendo profissões: um estudo de caso no ensino fundamental(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2013-04-12) Pêgo, Rudnei Nunes; Rosado Filho, Moacir; Guimarães Filho, Florêncio FerreiraThis project is aimed to develop a possibility of teaching / learning to some mathematical issues and apply it through practical projects related to a profession, to increase student learning. In order to this it was done a case study with two classes of 8th grade (9th grade in the new nomenclature) of a public elementary school from Serra-ES involving the Architecture and Engineering professions, which were chosen with the classes. The contents worked were defined by the researcher, who was also the teacher of the discipline, based on their previous experience and items in which students typically encountered major difficulties, namely: Trigonometry of Rectangle Triangle and Areas of Plane Figures. The project was defined as: the construction of a school maquette and low plants of the school and the square, in scale. The students, organized in groups, were accompanied and assisted by the teacher throughout the entire project. The results were positive: the students were engaged and motivated; increased their selfesteem, decreased resistance towards Mathematics and the distance between theory and practice; encouraged the teamwork, improving the teacher-student and student-student relationships; and improved significantly students performance in evaluations compared to other classes or these same classes in other contents.
- ItemUma proposta de sequência didática para o ensino de matrizes no Ensino Médio(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2017-08-11) Trindade, Jane Rodrigues; Rosado Filho, Moacir; Rosado Filho, Moacir; Guimarães, Andréa Gomes; Silva, Domingos Sávio ValérioThis work has as main objective to develop the mathematical practice presenting the matrix subject in such a way that the student develops the mathematical knowledge and is able to answer that pragmatic question: "why one learns this?" It is known that the presented theme does not have an approach prior to the second year of high school, with the intuitive notion of matrices seen superficially in the analysis and construction of tables. This fact generates great difficulty of understanding by the students, who cannot relate the study to practical situations. Our goal here will be to realize the theory through everyday problems- situations. To do so, we organized the work in a didactic sequence distributed in classes followed by four practical applications, about graphs, coding, gaussian elimination and matrix product.
